Kyoani is starting to whore their characters out and Dogakobo is putting in more fanservice.
I like the cute designs in modern moe series.
Too bad they're complete shit otherwise.

>Glorious Nippon Wank
>Fantasy is shit.
yuribait
wait, you like fantasy being shit?
I want to marry Merry
The decline of anime-original content in adaptations. We will likely never have a Bokurano or Rideback fiasco ever again.
Yeah instead we get shitty cliffhanger endings where nothing resolved except leaving the viewer disappointed
If I could choose between the last five episodes adapting more of the source material, and then having to read the source material for the ending, or the last five episodes being some garbage ending the anime staff thought up, I'd take the no-ending every time.
I miss the times when I can bitch about anime adaptations by JC Staff for having "anime original" bullshit.
Now it's just shit adaptation.
isekai being good
isekai has always been good
More shows are doing interesting things with their linework and filters. Watercolour art styles, grainy pencil-like or heavy lines, and the like. You used to get one Lupin the Third-style linework show a season or so, now there's several per season.
I think we're on the verge of a progressive art leap in the techniques used in anime.
More fujoshit.
Lower-powered heroes who don't become exponentially more powerful in a single ep.
Grimgar was a good example; almost too slow, in fact. Admittedly, that probably had more to do with budget than art, but the emphasis on teamwork and gradual progression for most of the series felt more real than most power fantasies.
Agreed, though Grimgar felt like it should have been a 24 episode show, or longer
god I love these backgrounds
Non one-dimensional girl character
More all girl series/ less male MCs
Thicker girls
isekai
variation
1)literally new world/universe
2)trap in online world
the death of battle harem LNs
Yume, Merry and the backgrounds were the only good parts of this show.
Grimgar had the pace of a 52eps show, I also wish it actually had that amount of episodes to work with.
2d girls with 3d/terrible personalities
Yuri and decent lolis
If Grimgar had 52 episodes, it would be AOTD material
Music artists from the doujin scene getting work in anime
Anime adaptations changing things around while not going full original
Reincarnation LNs overtaking harem LNs
Internet published manga gaining popularity
good riddance
Sure thing, hun.
These two needed to fuck already.
Yaoi and Yuri on rise.
Anime movie getting mainstream popularity
Battle harem is dead
Idol anime controlling commercial success
More yuri, more lolis
Good animation
More natural voice acting (hit or miss arguably)
26 ep series coming back
Also isn't there more anime originals lately?
>Idol anime controlling commercial success
But this is absolute hell
Reconstruction of mahou shoujo genre post-Madoka.
THICK
We have mahou shoujo battle royale this season though, and flip flappers looks to be a battle mahou shoujo series which is something that's been done consistently for years.
Last decent vanilla mahou shoujo I can remember post-madoka is pleiades.
>mahou shoujo battle royale
Which one? This season is packed with mahou shoujos
I was just kidding.
>Pleiades
RIP Gainax. At least they went out with a bang.
I think that was his point
There are none whatsoever.
There's only one mahou shoujo battle royale this season isn't there?
I'm still sad that they changed her design from the light novel.
What was her design in the novel? Because she's very sexy in the anime.
>isekai
>good
The booty is now consistently getting the love it deserves. Nowadays more and more people are understanding it's not just about the tits.
Turning everything into cute girls.
It's good when done right, like everything else, my reddit newfag friend.
This weekend I watched Gunsmith Cats and Riding Bean. Damn good old shit! Japan doesn't make anime like this in age. I'm starting to believe that Evangelion really ruined everything.
>Isekai
>Bad
Madoka started nothing new, just popularized (even more) the genre am style.
Translations when?
here u go anons

>implying haremshit is good
>implying generic salaryman/NEET/Highschool boy MC is good
>implying shitty wish-fulfilment garbage is good
>implying super generic fantasy world is good
>implying i'm from reddit
merry is best girl and will win
All of those can be good when done right. The fact that you can't think of any good anime with those premises, and giving you the benefit of the doubt on your reddit denial, shows that you're a complete newfag to anime and probably from Sup Forums.
she looks younger and funner
More cakes are winn-oh wait ;-;
another
Moe suffering.
>implying all those can be done right
Only for people with shit taste like you.
>"hurrr durrrrr newfagg!!!, get back to Sup Forums!!!!"
Insecure much shit taste-kun?
Haven't seen this but why does she look like Kirito?
You have to go back
>>>/reddit/
By definition you're the insecure one for blindly dismissing things based on their premise and not their quality. Just go back to Sup Forums and talk about how great cowboy bebop is over there.
hm.
i'm not the biggest fan of the disheveled hair
merry's ponytail and yume's braid really grew on me
>dubs
>trips
>dubs

is this thread blessed?
Nigger i have read overlord, mushoku tensei, re-monster and shield hero. Guess what? All of them are shitty wish-fulfilment garbage with no interesting character, generic fantasy world and boring MC.
>i started watching anime/reading manga this year - the post
Suit yourself.
Oh man, a whole three series that are considered mediocre to garbage within their genre. That's definitely enough to judge everything else on.
Nice comeback there faggot. Neck yourself
Got any better alternative then faggot?
>baaw i watched 5 anime my whole life and they sucked so i hate it all
Feel free to kill yourself back to Sup Forums any time.
Orange CG studio.
Fafner and Majestic Prince was glorious.
Does this counts as isekai, becauseim loving it.
Also gotta love trhe quiality of scans
>hey guys isekai is shit
>"OMG Fucking newfag gtfo to Sup Forums!!!!111"
These neo Sup Forums kids and their hateboner for the flavor of the month buzzword. This time it's isekai.
>not liking isekai means you're a newfag
Are all isekai mom hot ?
win what?
having great heroes in it
Does he fuck his mother?
Haven't read the LNs for other series but I did dig MT. While no masterpiece, especially the vol before last, it kinda made me root for the MC towards the end compared to the start of the series and it did feel sad when he died.
Too bad we didn't see the end of hitogami but I hear some serious reveals are happening in the spinoff series where Laplace is the mc.
What traitors deserve.
no
>The decline of anime-original content in adaptations.
You mean more anime-original sequels or second season manga/novel adaptations.
Anime right now is still good
Get in line
...
The wide availability of older releases, translated and often in HD. Never been a better time to be an anime fan.
Shitty battle academy/urban harems getting replaced by glorious isekai harems.
Its the best thing to happen since Evangelion.
>>What's a recent trend/development in anime that you like?
I like that actual character developments are happening now, instead of dicking around for years and years with tease, like Ranma 1/2 used to, and never resolving romantic tension.
Some examples from recent shit I've seen:
Haganai: Kodaka dates Yukimura
Konosuba: Kazuma dates Megumin, but comes painfully close to fucking her and Darkness at times
Overlord: Nfirea marries and fucks Enri
Re:Zero: Rem confesses to Subaru, who confesses to Emilia
Valvrave: Haruto rapes Saki
Goblin Slayer: Guild Girl dates Goblin Slayer
Dragonball Super: Trunks dates Mai
POKEMON: Serena french kisses Ash and finally gives this shit show an OTP
It used to be stuff like this only happened in IF routes of VN, with the main girl set in stone for romance if at all. If there was fucking it was portrayed as destructive (School Days, KGNE, White Album 2).
fujo scum
More down to earth slice of life and dramas.
Fune no amu, hibike and 3-gatsu are my jam atm. Very comfy.
Great season so for me.
>Painfully realistic average 2-faced bitch
gyarus.
Shit taste
KyoAni making more standalone movies like Koe no Katachi
More anime using 90s-esque art and 3-tone shading like Kabaneri
More bitchy, self-absorbed female MCs like Chitose
If you mean by development in this season. Then nothing. All I am watching this season is IBO S2. Last season had some nice things like Alderamin on the Sky and Amaama to Inazuma. Each season I am watching less and less. Hopefully next season will be better.
Most isekai aren't harems though, I think.
Has there been one besides KonoSubs this year?
Would this even be considered an isekai? It has the tropes for sure, but he only went back in time.
