Not that Delta wasn't bad, but Comiket's coming up soon-ish, so there's probably some artists waiting until then to sell their stuff.

Freyja and Hayate are two of the best Macross protagonists, but overall the show was shit.

And just what did Hayate do that makes him such a good protagonist? First half, he was great, second half, he was nothing more than a trophy-wife for Freyja.

I really, really liked the first half. I'm not a huge fan of macross, DYRL was decent. Frontier was shit outside of the side characters.
Should I finish the second half? I was kind of apathetic about watching it when I learned that the final boss is another one of those instrumentality freaks.

Same here. The idols were great, the fighting was fierce, it looked like it was going to be Macross' version of the One Year War. Then it somehow fell apart. Ripping off your average instrumentality plan was the cherry on top.

Freyja was great but her hype tension get fucked with melodrama in second half. The writer also let the fake/no- competition love triangle alive until final episode by throwing plot and angst shit at Freyja and Hayate to not let them fuck each other because they don't want to leave Mirage out in the cold.
