Baki 131 translation

>stop forcing Baki threads
Fuck you, you're not my real dad

I'm sorry that this is yet another weird/pointless skip in translations, but I had time on my hands, I don't like the fact that the gap between our translations and the current chapters keeps increasing, and this chapter had virtually no redraws. To that end, I don't intend to put this chapter on Batoto until we're caught up (because people will bitch about the gap), so save these pages if you want to have em. iku yo

I also kinda did this chapter because this page is awesome.

and, for the big finale...

[uncontrollable vomiting]

can't wait to see how memashi gets out of this one.

When is the OVA coming out?

December 6th, as I recall. Just one more month.

im not reading it cause there is a missing volume on kissmanga and it jumps from pickle meeing musashi to halfway into the pickle+musashi fight

Just look at the raws; you're not missing much. It's primarily "lol who wud win in a fight, pickle or musashi" for like 5-6 chapters.

up yours

I wasn't joking. Chapters 108, 113-116 are all just people talking about the fight and its potential outcome(s).

he's right though.

Strong is beautiful

ARIGATOU HANMA BAKI

why was this guy even here lol

dude battlefield lmao

The idea was that "I don't have to be able to completely destroy your armor in order to kill you." He's doing hardly any damage to Motobe's coat, but Motobe's limbs are still breaking.

so how do you tackle with legs that broken

Ever been seriously injured? Your body can do horrible shit if enough adrenaline/endorphins is pumping through it. People with holes in their lungs can hold their ground in a fistfight; people can lift boulders off of children; people with broken legs can jump. The catch is that these things can and will make your muscles disintegrate.

I realize but like, why did you put a guy in that test helmet.

Sure, but his legs were 90 degrees broken... those shouldn't function. Especially not well enough to tackle the guy tanking Pickle somehow.

>why did you put a guy in that test helmet
Putting your money where your mouth is. That's why they had the smith wearing the helmet instead of a slave or something. If he lied and made a shitty helmet, he dies. If it's a good helmet, he lives, gets whatever provisions from the kingdom, and keeps making gear.

I wonder when Musashi peaked.

The earlier flashbacks suggested he was still developing his style in his old age.

Presumably now that he has both all that experience and a younger body he is stronger than he ever was in his original life.

Hasn't he lost by the end of 132?

why is the art so terrible?

Presumably. But isn't that what we thought about Muhtobe at the end of 131? Who knows what comes next?

It would be funny if Musashi loses but survives while Motobe dies from his injuries.

Big dose of humble pie with no possibility of a rematch.

>It would be funny if Musashi loses but survives while Motobe dies from his injuries

Fuck me that's what's gonna happen isn't it?

How did Musashi lose against this shitter, I thought he was supposed to be god tier

Memes.

nah, you got it backwards
Motobe is god-tier

If it results in Musashi learning a lesson and deciding to be less murdery it might even count as Motobe achieving his objective of protecting everyone.

I mean if you think about it the whole reason most of the top martial artists in the Bakiverse have reached such heights is because their fights usually don't end with deaths, so they live to fight another day and develop their art further.

In Musashi's day he said he had no rivals of such caliber. Likely because they all tragically died too early to fully realise their potential, often by Musashi's own hand.

did the caveman died

...

That's actually a rather clever idea.

But, I don't think that Baki characters are liable to change their personalities significantly, especially after becoming so established in their methodologies. Think about it: the only character other than Baki to really 'evolve' in terms of personality is Tokugawa. Doppo hasn't changed a smidgen beyond losing his eye. Shibukawa is just as much of a crazy old man as he was at the beginning. Retsu was introduced yelling about the honor of the 4000 YEARS, and he died yelling about the honor of the 4000 years. Jack is Jack; Yuujiro is Yuujiro - it would be really unusual to have Musashi become the only major fighter to have a huge shift in perspective like that.
Especially, I think, after the creepy black sclera thing he did in the Retsu fight. You can't have him become a 'good guy' without that recurring at least once.

Musashi might choose to ignore his lesson.

Then again if we are talking about established patterns in the Baki series, then (if the convicts and Ali Jr are anything to go by) stubborn refusal to learn a lesson just leads to further, increasingly painful lessons.

>Musashi might choose to ignore his lesson.
What would come from that - good or bad?

More defeats and memes.

Why do people read this gayshit and not superior mangas like HxH.

I hope you enjoy your manga for kids.
