Hayama's not the problem, he's a symptom of the whole contrived arc we've been in for many months more

While the arc is the underlying problem, Hayama is adding his own set of problems. A liked character going all edgelord. A contest with a forgone conclusion due to the stakes involved. A huge chunk of time taken away from other liked characters.

I consider the Hayama problem to be a part of the arc's general shittiness because he's regressing for no reason. He was somewhat developing into a better rival by the end of the food fair arc (when he was in a team with Alice and Ryou) but here? He's so out of character it hurts. This arc is just writing the characters so poorly - Kuga too, he's so pointless in this Hayama match, thrown in to sip chai while Souma thinks of a solution by getting a feel for the bear's habitat and realizing they like honey--

The whole thing is just ridiculous, and Hayama's ridiculous is part of that.

Let's be honest Hayama was completely up his ass after Autumn and he was only reduced in that by proximity to Alice (who along with Souma has that effect on nearly any character up to and including Azami, there really should be a phrase for it at this point)

I think at this point people are just tired of shokugeki and all of the tournament/test. Azami arc itself is pretty shitty too.

Thing is, it did have genuinely good writing. The characters were good (Soma actually hating losing instead of being the perfect protagonist was nice) and the battles were done smartly.

Sesuji and Samon would be good choices, they are more niche and would most benefit from a less competitive environment, especially with their sales being more along the limes of a smaller magazine's titles.

They got One Piece, Hero Academia, Black Clover, World Trigger, Kimetsu no Yaiba, Amalgam, Toriko, and Red Sprite. Although Toriko and Red Sprite aren't long for this world. They also have Gintama, Yuuna, and Samon dipping into action occasionally. Plus Hunter and Boruto are battle manga, they just don't run weekly. Pretty much half the lineup is battle, do they need another?

I guess that could benefit them, anything is better than getting axed.

Hinomaru and Kimetsu are also like you described, they do well enough to not get cancelled but they don't seem to be growing in popularity, maybe all four of them would be better off in a magazine with lower expectations for their series.

WSJ+, the online spinoff magazine of WSJ, considers sales of 30k to be good, they'd be right at home there.

SJ+ was where Soul Catcher(s) and iShoujo wound up eventually, and both got nice lengthy runs there, in fact iShoujo is still ongoing. It would be perfect for Sesuji, but I think Jump still sees potential in Hinomaru, Samon, and Kimetsu.

Ghost tits is surprisingly strong. Give it a look you guys, I found myself pretty surprised when the tsundere Sagiri (nor did anyone else) didn't attack Fuyuzora when he was teleported into the changeroom and instead attacked the one who actually caused the problem.

When Beelzebub was´nt in a BATTORU arc yes, it was so much better than Samon.

The only good battle arc that i can remember was the one when Furuichi turns baddas.

I know the issues with Red Sprite and Love Rush, but what do people think about Amalgram and Spring Weapon?

I haven't been able to download raws for a few weeks due to moving, but what I got out of skimming the raws is that Amalgram aiming toward TG-level dark (with the awful element of a tsundere childhood friend) and Spring Weapon's absurdity reminded me of how Reborn started off.
And I didn't think Reborn's comedy beginnings were at all funny.

I think Number One is more like a buddy manga version of Invader Zim, mostly for the glasses guy insulting all his classmates for not noticing the obvious.

Miwa of course. You don't always see someone open fire on little kids just because they might be canadian.

That said he's more fun than Pajeet.

I think Red Sprite could have an opportunity there, the plot has promise for more but japs seems to ignore the manga, maybe in a magazine with lower expectations it will do better

I dont see mangas like Samon or Hinomaru Zumou on the next magazine, they need those series now that Toriko is ending and some series will be cancelled
