a meciocre like TTGL Parallel Works and a bad like Kill la Kill, not sure what GitS that is, and unfamiliar with the rest.

It's impossible to tell if this is the real deal.

How the fuck do you not recognize K-On!, Gintama, HxH, and Psycho Pass? I haven't even seen those series but I'd recognize them on sight.

A good like Zeta Gundam, Gunbuster, Ideon, TTGL, and Merowlink, a bad like Patlabor, and a mediocre like Wings of Hommeiase, unfamiliar with the other two although the one in the corner looks like Tokyo Vice.

Replace all that Gainax garbage with more Tomino.

>Someone make this happen
seconding, an establishment elitist versus and masculinized relativist, titans would clash!

How the fuck would they beat each other? DigiBro drops every other anime in one episode, Duel literally admits he doesn't believe in tropes and archetypes, one complained about Gate, the other called the second season the best anime of 2016, they are from other dimensions.

but user that's the point, they are literal polar opposites of one another!

Red state vs. blue state mentality?

it'd be funny as fuck to watch them lose each others' minds

>he doesn't believe in tropes and archetypes
How is that even possible?

Paraphrasing but generally
>not on a test
>not necessary for survival
>irrelevant/only elitists and sheeple care

Or something like that

there is a difference between not believing and not caring, user

what's your endgame?

dude what

I'm asking you why you create this thread and spam it with garbage 3x3s like it's populated. What do you stand to gain?

utter trash taste

I wasn't the one who created this thread numbnuts, am just to lazy to rate other 3x3s jesus.

You're here all day every day spamming dumb ugly bullshit. Tell me your endgame now!

First 3x3 thread

Lots of good stuff there, except I know next to nothing about manga. Bebop and Evangelion are certainly top tier OSTs.
Why Non Non Biyori though?

Azumanga Daioh and Aria are great, never got into anything else there.

Pretty solid, though I never understood the love for Nausicaa. The only thing special about it was the background art.
Also, I still haven't watched shin sekai yori.

Everything about Nausicaa is special.

Are you me?

I ought to rewatch it. I keep seeing people swear by it.

Wow, I do secretly love Initial D. Maybe you are me.

When was the last time you saw it?

here, I'm a sucker for super specific aesthetics which is why I put it over Princess Mononoke. It's just more esoteric, less dialogue, less concrete.

Stuck your head in the toilet and stone cold flushed it

No more than two years ago.

>more esoteric, less dialogue, less concrete
I can appreciate that. It's definitely one of their stronger movies for this reason, but it never stuck out to me.
But this is coming from a guy who only really likes Spirited Away.

I'm fully aware that my taste is shit (with the exception of Tatami) now go ahead and judge me.

But you've already taken away my judgment. What am I supposed to do now.

hibkek is objectively better than tatami. so is yuru yuri

What the fuck do you people see in gundam?

Just stop watching anime.

Those shows range from ok to great (nichijou and luluco) but what the fuck do you see in DanMachi

It's the anime substitute for war movies. Nips will never make anime about actual straight-up war unless it has robots in it. Hence gundam.

Curious, why do you prefer HxH 1999 instead of the 2011 version?

Is it the darker tone? Personally, I feel it has the superior Phantom Troupe Arc and a couple of well directed episodes elsewhere, but I think the new version is a better show AND adaptation overall.

But The Cockpit and Area 88 exist

Laziness.

Made for military otaku. No mass appeal. Kind of like the war movie /k/ would like is not the same war movie your dad would like.

Actually, my dad's favorite war movie is Full Metal Jacket

Here.

3/4. Unique. Is F/SN from the VN? I'm very much of the opinion the VN is overrated, not the anime.

I like how the anime turned out in some places more than the V.N Also, I'd probably replace Luluco for BECK.

They are both pretty shabby, I just think the VN is used as an excuse for liking bad shit. Urobutcher has his problems but Zero is objectively better, despite the fact that the internet has collectively decided that a darker tone is inherently bad.

I prefer Stay night over zero. I think Shirou is a better character than the entire cast of Zero.

Stay night is nailed to the floor by its porn elements. All the heroines are pure qt virginal waifus, even the worst acts Sakura commits are empty anime-tier stuff. Take for example Maya: in a loveless sexual relationship with Kiritsugu. The reason is because that's what real people do: they do shitty things, they have mental problems that make them be dependent on other people and make stupid choices, etc. etc. Shirou exists only as a vehicle for Nasu's skeletal musings on arbitrary concepts at best, as a pointless pornographic self-insert at worst.

How about you rate others, retard.

>All the heroines are pure qt virginal waifus
I'm not going to try to defend anything fate related, but did you even play through the VN?

dont feel like making a pic so

>Hunter x Hunter
>GitS: Stand Alone Complex
>NGE
>Planetes
>So Ra No Wo To
>Gankutsuou
>Monster
>GTO
>FLCL

I don't really care for the heroins on fate. I think saber is cute as well as Tohsaka, but I just like Shirou's character. I like how he stands up to what he believes despite being show the worse case scenario of it. Fate waifus were never that got me hooked into fate. It was more the world around it and Shirou. I also think projecting swords is cool.

Yes, albeit years ago so many of the details are fuzzy. The point is that the trappings are just red herrings, kind of like edgelord shows like AGK which try to make it seem like they are morally grey but are blatantly one-sided. Or Code Geass, which pretends to have a moral conflict but is clearly siding with Lelouch.

Fair enough. I like your style. Only thing I would press on then is what differentiates him from a standard shounen protagonist? Not that I think he is one, because that's the standard secondary response, but because the quality which you like most about him is the one that inspired that meme to begin with.

Describes your taste pretty well, though the fact you have 3 movies on your chart makes me think you haven't seen that much. Admittedly I don't recognize the top right or bottom left from those pictures

I think that moment on the VN when you date Tohsaka and you listen to shirou's monologue about ''I don't deserve this happiness'' kinda made me relate to him, because despite him acting as a fairly decent and good guy he does have some issues. He also gets his shit called out whenever he tries to help others in situations that are really more dangerous to him than to the person he is trying to safe, and that he actually listens (at last on UBW) and does try to change. I guess that's what I liked, that he actually changed for the better, and that he wasn't just a static protagonist.

9 is too small. Changing it to a 4x4 so i can add

>FMAB
>Space Dandy
>Cowboy Bebop
>One Punch Man
>Welcome to the NHK
>Kaiji
>Hajime no Ippo

It's not bad, and beutifully illustrated, but it seemed too mundane to really have any appeal to me. What do you like about it?

I think this point of view is too narrow-minded. It depends on whether you want absolutely perfectly balanced moral conflicts or more relative ones.

Lelouch wasn't right about everything and the show created various situations where he was plain wrong.

Not to mention the ultimate answer in the end was more of a combination of methods (which required changing things "from within" as part of a larger plan). Calling it "one-sided" seems too...well, one-sided.

I was trying to distinguish between a show that is actually morally grey and one that just pretends to be. There's no denying that both types do exist.

Frankly though it's very easy to come up with situations where the protagonist seems to be wrong, and the plot may say they were wrong, but the writing and directing is saying the exact opposite, by portraying them in a badass, rebellious, or cool subversive manner. Eventually, on every front, Suzaku was wrong, wrong, wrong, even if he seemed to be right at first everything he does backfires in the end and Lelouch is the only one who gets real results, which makes it pretty clear who the writers are endorsing.

I'm interested what you think the most relevant counterexamples are.

>removing Yotsuba& and PunPun
>replacing them with Ippo

Is it ok to have both FMA 03 and Brotherhood in the same 3x3? I feel like having something like both HxHs would be dumb but I like both FMA TV series.

...

The trash-tier:
Rest is either acceptable or good.

I think its only fair to add another 3 shows after every extra 100 shows

?

4/5. +2 for the Big O and KDS
