Either my spic isn't so good, or the translation is shitty but They fake Iori's death. Her cute assistant goes MIA, and Iori assumes he died. Her cute fiancee is able to return to her family because the Emperor intercepted on her favor, but is loyal to Iori and speaks up to defend 'him'. Worst guy Emperor won. Sure, he fell for Iori, but he lied about what he said of her father so she would drop the self-destructive revenge path. He WAS actually a loyal guy. And was using her for some reason it eluded me, it would make him stronger. But he fell for her regardless, even when he thought she was a guy. Iori is slowly allowing herself to turn into a noblewoman out of guilt for Ayako, but the only beacon of hope in the ending is that she realizes the Emperor is lying about something and she wants to 'learn the truth'. But the manga ends that for that night, she won't think about it, so it's hinting she's slipping away slowly to be 'Ayako'.
I hope there's a sequel her manservant rescues her from this bullshit.
