Did anyone watch Valkyrie Drive? I just gave a run because I have nothing better to do.
Just, why is it so bad? Unappealing characters aside, the dynamic where girls have to arouse each other to become weapons is terrible. Because once the story turned to action, they pretty much had to toss out the thing that made it unique and the action wasnt even good. Were they really planning on making this some sort of big series?
Julian Smith
The anime is rancid garbage. The Vita game is good.
Colton Torres
What did you expect from a series filled to the brim with borderline hentai fanservice? There are genuinely good ecchi anime with good characters and plot; anyone could look at this and tell that Valkyrie Drive is not one of them.
Asher White
Though the characters and plot are still shit. And the fan service takes a downturn.
Cameron Jenkins
I liked Qwaser and Manyuu from the same guy though. They probably tried too hard with this one which made it do kind of shitty.
Benjamin Sanchez
The gameplay and optimization of VD are both better than Estival Versus. There's less character but this time all the characters feel good to play instead of there being like 10 terrible unfun characters in SK. They need to adapt VD's mechanics into the next SK Versus game.
Julian Thompson
I watched it. It was great. Tons of very erotic scenes.
Jonathan Ramirez
I dont think anyone is talking about gameplay or cares about it here. It's that the series is too stupid and tries to be something serious beyond porn.
Blake Turner
Manyuu and Qwaser were shit. Too focused on action, and talking about chopping off breasts isn't sexy at all. Those shows weren't sexy at all. Valkyrie Drive did it right.
Aiden Harris
The only good parts were giant chick and evil Miku.
Matthew Turner
>Evil Miku
Was that the pink chick?
Noah Wright
Momoka was shit though. >unsexy as shit. >loves Mirei for no reason.
Isaac Perry
The fucking one that kinda looks like a slutty Miku.
Jace Stewart
Sup Forums liked it very much while it aired. What made the show much more memorable though was the so-called nipplemod-incident, which happened just shortly after Hiroyuki Nakashima was revealed as the new owner of Sup Forums.
Christian Watson
It couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a show about sexy girls doing cute/sexy things with a splash of action, or if it wanted to be an action show that had the odd makeout/gropefest.
Also only 12 episodes and no guarantee of a second cour, meaning they had to wrap everything up in the last 3 episodes in a rushed way.
So we are all in agreement that Kasumi is the best girl right?
Cameron Martinez
That sticky was one of the best moments in recent Sup Forums history.
Tyler Butler
>Sup Forums liked it very much while it aired I was here at the time and can deconfirm this.
Matthew Fisher
Shut up. It was awesome. Especially when the sandniggers happened and /u/ got buttblasted to hell.
Andrew Powell
They didn't do anything the entire show.
Blake Butler
They gave 14 year old girl a ride once. That ought to count as something.
Jordan Stewart
I barely finished the first episode and then dropped that shit. Everything about it was dumb
Luke Ramirez
Literally all the posters in the threads were /u/ posters though. Discussion pretty much died after the last episode and everyone went back.
I hated that
Matthew Morales
Man, that Kasumi kick when she rips her stockings by sheer muscle strength ... just thinking about that make me hard again.
Chase Wood
I was just listening to the ending song yesterday.
Henry Jones
They helped kick off the endgame plot, even if it was due to a request from Akira.
Their side material was some of the best of the entire show, but most people's side material was better than their actual role in the show, except for Nimi and Moe.
Benjamin Rogers
Of course discussion dies down once the last episode airs, since there's no new material to talk about anymore. Everything worthwhile that could be said about the show was said during the constant threads for it that lasted entire days between airing days.
Jason Russell
Pretty much everyone agrees that the series is garbage. Dont get the surprise.
Caleb Flores
Sup Forums liked it before it went off the tracks and became boring unfocused shit about four episodes in.
Incidentally, that's also around the same time that stalker stopped behaving like it does when people are cautious but interested with a new franchise and started behaving like a flop.
Adrian Miller
Episode 5 was good, though it contributed exactly nothing to the plot.
Honestly, I think everyone (including the show itself) was pretending like it was something other than hot girls of varying degrees of boob doing stuff.
Sebastian Morris
It's a flop of the scale of Ride to Hell. No one understands how they expected it to be some huge multi-media blitz when the frontrunner of the franchise was so outrageously atrocious. I like the giant girl episode and I appreciate having some cute chubby/fat girls but nothing is going to excuse the terrible plot or pacing with 10 episodes of fucking nothing and only bringing the villains in 2 episodes before the show ends. The only thing the show did right was the character designs.
The game is pretty good, way better than any of the Senran games. Those are really close to being good, but they'd rather keep pushing out lazy garbage where every girl has the exact same character model. But a big problem witht he game is that all the girls look the same, why 4 purple haired girls? The only ones that stand out are Manpakumaru and blonde Rin.
Benjamin Ross
The series would've been much better if Lady Lady had been the protagonists.
Brandon Richardson
The anime was only good for the variety of cute girls, but the plot was trash and the premise was moronic in places.
The cast of the anime should've been the cast for the game, honestly. >What about the cast for the game? What ABOUT them?
Jose Martinez
It's not a huge massive success but since it sold like 2.5-3k I don't think it's a flop. I don't think it did bad at all for an original and explicit yuri anime.
Samuel Myers
I like girls in vests and it turns out I hit the fucking jackpot with this show. It was pretty bad though, yeah. Weren't there yuri twins or was that something else?
Asher Scott
The MCs of the game are sisters.
Landon Davis
Marathoned it with a boner the entire time. No regrets.
Hudson Campbell
...
Grayson Nelson
>for an original An original is supposed to do better though to make even. It didn't do well. It wasn't a complete burnout but originals need to be able to sell 5k at least
Benjamin Flores
I'd give her my D5. Know what I'm saying?
Joseph Nguyen
this, no meme intended Lady Lady were far more interesting than the MCs, great char design and VA; wasted potential instead we got a shitty autistic MC and her silent companion
Jace Brown
>not liking mirei
Joshua Reed
I want red head to sit on my face
Noah Jones
Mirei's backstory was pretty nice when we were still wondering about it. Hell, even when it got explained in more detail it was still pretty neat.
What WASN'T neat was Momoka coming in and jacking the plot in the LAST TWO EPISODES, only to get Deus Ex Machina'd harder than an episode of Yugioh.
Akira's subplot was okay. Charlotte could've exploited it without Momoka. Kasumi was best girl but I'm upset that we got 0 elaboration on the loli outside of a "you guys are partners so HOSTAGE SITUATION". Jewgold Girl was pretty good and had an interesting and hilarious spin on the "Powers from Eroticism" thing. Charlotte was a jobber, but if she had stopped being vapid for 10 minutes she could've figured out that Akira wasn't a male. Virgin-chan was stupid beyond belief. I've never in my life thought that I would RATHER have a beta-ass harem MC INSTEAD of the MC we actually got, but here we are. The fact that she also happened to be incredibly plot relevant and the source of the Deus Ex Machina was just another piece of shit on the pile. Lady Lady and most of the side characters with actual names were awesome. Even the one-offs were pretty good.
Asher Gomez
This is mostly accurate. Way, WAY too much focus on the main couple. You have this huge variety of delicious girls and a license to tap into all kinds of fanservice and you went with a focus on the most boring couple. I'm quite sure at least 60% of the fanservice was entirely focused on them
I don't understand how you can take a series about hot as fuck chicks tongue fucking each other and make it so bland, Momoka was the only good thing in the entire second half. Just wasted potential.
