What do you think?

Where's the confirmation on that budget?

...

>$200m

Yeah right

I don't give a fuck. I'm going to watch it, and I hope it is good. I just hope they don't turn it into some intelligence-insulting capeshit.

Holy fuck anime does not translate well to real life

At least post the trailer
youtube.com/watch?v=eJKyqALHC2w

I don't care how it looks, just look at the direction, Jesus fucking almighty, this is shit

>takeshi kitano
Is that guy even alive?

Between this and Wonder Woman, can someone explain me why the west doesn't have "big" women for that kind of live action roles?
Those women are supposed to be muscular and they choose the actresses with the least amount of flesh in the bones.

...

I think we'll be seeing it at least twice an hour until people from other boards get tired of posting it here.

The strength come from superpowers and comic shit, why fuck they need to be fit, superman could be a fat NEET and still destroy buildings hitting them with his neckbeard

How can you get a background so wrong. It's supposed to look cold, run-down and depressing. This shot is supposed to be dystopic for Christ's sake.

I sincerely hope this thing bombs so hard.

now I'm sad. Fuck you.

I didn't care about this before but man, this looks bad

>All those CGI and Green screens
>Anime live-action replace Marvel movies of Hollywood Blockbusters

What other animes need be destroyed by Hollywood?
Here my idea.

Looks like a fan-film.

it seems like they are at least trying to keep it close to the sauce material. If the story good how it looks won't matter so much to me. Alot of this sketchy cg and direction can cleaned up before release.
I'm hoping it's not shit but it's clear this is no passion project

>how about steins;gate?
>nah, too complex for our customers
>but it got a transgender with identity issues
>off we go to production!

It might be alright
They at least got the scenery/atmosphere right

Will it be a January or September release? There is no way this is a summer tent pole with double its budget or more in marketing.

>2016: Hollywood high budget blockbuster movie with real actors and cartoon background
>1995: high budget anime movie with cartoon characters and almost-real backgrounds
>1995 way better than 2016
There's something wrong about this...

Oh wait fuck it's supposed to be a March 31st release? That's still in the dead season, but that's less than five months from now. They probably can't delay it because it will then be forced to compete with the slew of capeshit.

November 13? For the full trailer or what?

Muscles apparently aren't sexy and no actress wants to bother working out for that kind of role only to lose it afterwards.

>dat shitty CGI
What the fuck? So it just will be another Dragon Ball LA

The CGI background look decent. But the green screen integration is awful.

Yeah and we all are going to watch it anyway and will be disappointed with it

That's just sad

Are they doing a scene for scene remake of the 1995 film?

That's their best bet.

Meanwhile men actors loose or gain weight, body mass, shave heads, etc.

Meanwhile other actors change their appearance, even for low-budget artsy films.

Guess who's not involved with this?

Kenji Kawai or Kazunori Ito. Prepare for your fucking EDM.

Is that Kino?

>Not wanting a KyoAni cinematic universe
>Now wanting to watch live action Haruhi, Chitanda, Kumiko, Kaname and the Frees joining forces to deal with a world-threatening crisis

Women don't even gain muscle mass like that unless they're on gear and training to be lifters. Look at Emily Blunt from Edge of Tomorrow.

They dont see muscles as sexy, but Wonder Woman being thin as a stick has been peoples complaints all along. And i don't usually agree, but they could have not hired a model to be Wonder woman, i think there are plenty of women in the industry who could have pulled the look off better.

that dumb spandex sneaking suit looks like a cheap halloween costume

I honestly wonder how a decently muscular actress would be received by the media and the public. If they're going to put a "strong female character" in something, they could at least make her look strong rather just saying it.

I am dissapointed about this. Not even a cameo for Lucy Lawless in WW.

That didn't look too good, but I have a faint hope. Looking forward to the full trailer next sunday.

I think it would work for someone as iconic as Wonder Woman.

This is like a color remake of Citizen Kane with Matt Damon in the leading role.

It's classic material being butchered and packaged for a new audience with none of the shit that made it good to begin with.

Don't get your hopes up

This desu. Heck, it goes for men too probably. Fit humans that aren't taking any supplements and have natural amounts of body fat tend to not be that toned even if they might be very strong.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the male actors who put on a lot of muscle in a short time for a role are juicing it.

Or Oldboy 2003 vs Oldboy 2013

Usually foreign films get raped because big studios want to remake it for America

>he didn't see the Dragon Ball movie

Psycho-Pass, because muh empowered woman MC and a chance to copypasta flashy CGI on everything

DC took this long to include her in a live action movie, I doubt they'd be brave enough to cast someone "unattractive" to play her.

speaking of classic, is Ben Hur remake
good?

The major and batou have a conversation in which she says why she doesn't need a huge muscular body

Haven't seen it, doubt it. I haven't heard any discussion on it. Same with Magnificent 7 remake.

it's 3DfuckingPD,what were you expecting?

maggot

Still can't believe they actually picked ScarJo.

At least no will ever adapt S.E.L. so we still have that for us.

I don´t know what is more ridiculous. This or Takeshi Kitano´s wig.

How about this?

Gits the porn parody.

The CGI looks terrible. The acting looks terrible. Everything looks terrible. Just pull the plug before any real damage gets done.

Nobody has ever been this wrong.

For a moment there I thought someone shooped googly eye stickers into the pic. I'm still not convinced that isn't the case.

...

They looked at Batou's design and probably thought "Nah, it'd look weird if he had bottlecaps covering his eyes." Yet that was deemed perfectly acceptable.

When people say we need a "strong female protagonist" that doesn't mean physically strong. It means well written or for the most part non dependent. Fuck why do I even have to explain this shit

>movie ends with Batou suffering some sort of injury
>final monologue while showing Batou undergoing some sort of surgery
>new eyes reveal
>monologue ends with "Ghost in the Shell"
>screen goes black
>mfw

tfw I desperately want this movie to be good because beat takeshi is in it, but they probably cut down most of his stuff.

The lazy step back she takes in the wide shot after the punch makes me more disappointed than anything else here. It says to me that whoever they managed to hire for this isn't capable of recreating the snappy, lively choreography of the combat in the original films. What a fucking grim future.

I'm aware, but most of the time it's this supposed super badass that ends up doing nothing or falls into distress. I'd be more convinced of their supposed expertise if they had some sort of muscle on them.

I'm kind of hoping he'll play Aramaki exactly like his gangster roles. Throwing a "KONNO YAROU" into every sentence and looking constipated 24/7.

That's depressing.

This. I am still gonna watch it as I love GITS but like, just that one bit of her deactivating her camo is blegh.

I'm glad they at least got someone I feel that can actually pull of Aramaki.

I'm hoping that'll be touched up in the final edit. Lots of movie trailers nowadays that use CGI and green screens get cleaned up in post.

NGE would be glorious
I'm laughing just thinking about a Hollywood rendition of it

i just hope it ends in some sort of intense sequel bait sequence only for it to flop

This looks so shit, it couldn't even pull off being a comedy like Riki-Oh.
So this is what happens when incompetent judenschweine who got into their positions through kike nepotism end up making life-action adaptions of foreign cult classics

This is the only anime-related property that I think could feasibly work as a big-budget Hollywood adaptation.

Oh my gaaah

>implying that they wouldn't screw up the source material regardless

In order for a woman to gain good amounts of lean mass it takes either a lifetime of training or steroid use. Steroid use causes virilizing side effects which totally ruin their femininity. Male actors definitely use steroids.

I still say Bebop could work.

>draw white people all the time because atomic bomb scrambled your brains and made you into subservient boot lickers
>surprised that the live action movie is white people
>get on Sup Forums and bitch about all the white people in the live action movie
stop being so self-loathing then, and learn to draw your own people instead of europeans, stupid japs!!!!

LOGH. Think about it. Hollywood loves the Chinese market right now. But Hollywood loves to use whatever big name stars to sell the film to a Western audience. With LOGH, you solve that problem by getting to use white actors and Asian/Chinese actors and nobody can call foul on white washing.

But we're all Westerners. Japan doesn't care to much about the adaptation.

I feel like the time for that has passed.

Shit, that could have worked

they got the city wrong

>le anime characters are white meme

>Muscles apparently aren't sexy
since when

Yeah, this. Still a while for it to be released too.

I WANT GITS to be good. I hope it's good. I don't want to jump on the "it's total and complete shit" train before it's out even.

Apparently Pacific Rim was original the NGE movie but they scrapped it and reworked the script a lot and decided to make it its own thing.

Don't even joke about that, the original movie was bad enough

Since a long time. I'd say after the fall of Rome.

bullshit

women with muscles are always sexy

...

Yeah, I didn't realize just how garish everything in the background looks. I don't understand why they had to add a bunch of holograms to the building when the city in GITS is basically just contemporary Hong Kong with more skyscrapers.

Agreed, when will Hollywood learn?

That background on the upper screenshot is so badly pasted it's not even funny. And how all those buildings just are there without any base level whatsoever, what the fuck? Who approved of this shit?

On the other hand in the lower screenshot the background is at least half of the atmosphere, the futuristic, rusting commie block. The color palette is important too.

If your movie has no art direction, no amount of money thrown into CGI will help it. At least not to be good, because being good and actually selling well sadly aren't interchangeable.

>Implying this isn't sexy as fuck

$200m and they can't even afford a Vive, worst cosplay ever.

I didn't say that I didn't find them attractive, I'm just saying that you saw significantly less muscular women in society after that.
