Miyazaki going digital

I guess he's finally started to like Ipads now?

>Cintiq
>"iPad"
bitch please...

A drawing tablet is nothing like an ipad and would feel more relevant for Miyazaki. Anyway, it's about time he embraced digital animation. Only a matter of time before the industry goes full digital.

>$2000 cintiq
>ipad
user, please.

Miyasaki was a mistake. He's nothing but trash. - Anime

kek

i though the industry was already full digital

Lol fuckinghypocrite

You got it mixed up user: RETARD, the industry already was full retard.

Old men are resistant to change and bad mouth the things they don't understand until they're forced to adapt and get on with the times. Are you surprised? He's a great creator, but I don't know why people take the shit he says as gospel and not just his opinion.

They still draw on paper, only a few animators use digital.

cintiq was a mistake.

It's all the same shit in Miyazaki's mind.

What, is he making a new movie? I thought he retired.

>Miyazaki going digital
He went digital a long time ago.

Ipad was a mistake.
-Steve Jobs

Is he drawing dicks? Why did they blur it

Gee, let me guess:

Some pre-teen girl goes into an adventure and a lot of fucked up imagery happens ending with a lukewarm ending.

Your lolicon ways are known to me, Miyazaki.

He retires every year.

He retired from feature films, but he had announced ages ago that he was working on a new short film. I think it was going to be to 3DCG too.

In the making of Little Witch Academia they showed an artist painting one of the backgrounds on paper.

That's not digital, those were drawn by hand and then uploaded to a scanner. They were colored digitally.

This time Miyazaki is doing everything 100% on tablet and computer, no pencil and paper.

hypocrite

this literally makes no difference

Have you ever even touched a tablet before? It's a world of difference compared to paper and pencil.

Why does Wacom have to make their Cintiq tablets so fucking expensive? They're not even computers, just damn monitors you can draw on. A tiny little 13 inch one is more expensive than a macbook.

He's went digital a long time ago with Princess Mononoke. With how enviromental he is and how many toxic chemicals are involved in cell production, it makes sense that he would.

He didn't go 100% with it, but a lot of the effects were digital. Later productions would use more and more.

H Y P O C R I T E

after all that shit he keeps saying in books and interviews, he finally gives in.

Well it does. For instance, with the right brushes and settings, digital can replicate the texture of a pencil on paper but it's artificial, you can spot it. When you draw and on paper and scan it you can see the natural imperfections of the pencil grain on paper, especially if the paper is textured, like vellum maybe.

Fucking webgen trash.

Most colorists trace over the scanned cels nowadays, you are being fucked retarded

Webgen is the future, deal with it. I bet if Kanada was still alive, he'd be more than happy to work alongside webgen youngsters.

why is he drawing hentai

it´s because spoilers

is he drawing hentai?

I want a cintiq so bad but fuck that price

>the metal stand sell separately
>for $400

When something is a niche device/program for a very small and specialized group of people rather than a mass consumer market, things are gonna be expensive.

...

You can buy a simple drawing tablet for less than 100$ and draw on your own pc

>i bought a cintiq
>don't even use it with the screen on
gets too hot senpai

there are special gloves for it

>implying
He's just testing it so he can tell you that it's indeed trash and you should stick to real paper.

>TFW You can buy a touchscreen tablet for less than a "Pro" quality "writing" tablet accessory.

What shit. Couldn't he have drawn something original for the sake of the filming so they wouldn't have to blur it?

Western - yes, Japanese - not really.

They don't keep pencil scans raw, they filther the shit out of them to just get thin pixelated binary tool like line so they can color it fill with bucket style. Then they run it through some filter that anti-aliases the shit out of it and makes smooth lines again. So there isn't any of the original pencil drawing in the final product. This is how most (but not all) of the studios work.
