It's weird how much evangelicals love Trump. The way he has lived his entire adult life seems to be in conflict with almost everything Christianity believes.
The 3 wives, the child out of wedlock, bragging about cheating on his first wife to humiliate her in the press, ostentatious greed, appearing in a soft-core porn video for Playboy, bragging about hitting on a married woman, bragging about sexual assault, belittling his opponents, total ignorance of the Bible and no history of belonging to a church or even attending a church, and his constant lying about everything no matter how important or unimportant the topic of the lie may be.
But somehow they are willing to overlook all of that. Their embrace of him has totally changed my mind about how sincere they are with their religious views. I have always had my disagreements with evangelicals in politics, but I never questioned the sincerity of their beliefs. Now I do.
How can I respect their views when they are so willing to set them aside for a man like Donald Trump?
