i lost too many years to it. a lot of that time i was being rebellious against my father, so i played vidya in defiance of him, but now that i live alone, with my wife and kid, i dont see the appeal any more. it was always fun to beat the bad guy in games, but it was that ephemeral kind of fun you know? the kind that feels good for a bit, but then you want more because it wasnt enough. its addictive, and after a while it numbs you. ive been slowly changing myself to be the father i always wished i had for my son, but i think the best thing i can do for my son is to do as much as i can to stop him from playing vidya until after he moves out.

First of all, government shouldn't do shit because the highest purpose of government is the reduce itself.
Men on the other hand, need to reevaluate what they're living for. We've all been born for greatness, we all had a real sense of destiny at one point, but it's been suppressed by a cynical, over entertained culture. Not only that, but defanged as we've been, men have an entire porn industry preying on natural male weakness for sex, and males watching hardcore porn is starting earlier and earlier. Video games are less cancerous than porn, and I don't think the hobby is bad (even if its a lifestyle for some).
