It was announced as 4 cours during the Cygames event earlier this year. Its not surprising if you consider it as an advertisement method similar to Yugioh etc.
Cygames are really pushing Granblue as a franchise, it has multiple manga and book spinoffs, all sorts of merchandise and a console game in development.
