The ancient 666 prophecy (PART Two):
OK, so along comes the prophet Isaiah. He foretells that the messiah will be subject to 'man's law' and his punishment will be 'one unit of measure'. So, we already have this numerical value in this messianic prophecy by Moses, so what do we, as ancients, do? Well, we come up with the idea that the messiah will be somehow connected to 666.
OK, this next part I have to urge caution. Before this next part below, I picked up pieces of info here and there that went into the above posts... that part of this thread is pretty rock solid. I do believe I'm correct in what I'm about to state, but use your own judgement:
St. Paul would have known about this prophecy. I feel this is why, when he is debating with one of the Jewish councils about Jesus being the messiah, he used two different terms. One was the 'book of Moses' (this would have been all 5 books of the Torah). But he also used the term 'law of moses'. I do believe this term would have been specific to the area in the torah where the 613 commandments are given. Well, take a look there .... the ONLY messianic prophecy tucked in there is the one that is in question, the numerical value being 666.
st. paul says something to the effect that 'even the law of moses foretold Jesus'..... now why would he say that? It is because Jesus was not dead for three days, he was dead for two and a half days. IOW, 2.5 x 24 hours = 60 hours

I do believe Paul thought the ancient (even at that time) prophecy about 666 and Isaiah's 'unit of measure' were fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Further, I believe this also confirms Paul's jewish lineage.... nowadays, Jews claim he was a convert to Judaism, whereas christians claim he was 'in the running' for the high priest job. I'd say only someone 'on the inside' would have known that wisdom, I have no doubt it was secret info back then, just as Judaism keeps all this info secret today. I also believe this confirms jesus was indeed the messiah, just as paul argued.
Now, onto part three. The book of Revelation and the modern view of 666.

9 well, when 6 symbolizes this plane of existence and its order and everything in it, then 9 is it turned around, disturbing the natural/divin order. also since 10 is perfectness and gods law 9 is imperfectness and 11 transgrassing that law. there are 9 commendments in the satanic bible. 6+6+6=18, 1+8=9. also there is the tree of ife/kaballah which in some schools have exactly 10 seraphims (the connectionpoints) while saying 9 or 11 of exist is heresy even though i beieve the one with 11 seraphims are right because of what i mentioned in 9 and 11 also werent coincidently chosen for the date of the planes crashing into the tower

well, the stuff about jesus being related to 666 i have kind of trouble believing. as i mentioned just earlier his number is 888. 666 is associated with the bad and evil. maybe because the relation comes from jesus overcoming the evil and bad, the 666? i dont know

As I said above to another poster, never said the Israelites invented it. only making the argument they re-purposed it. Truth be told, I'm not even sure *anyone* from the bible, starting with people in genesis to the apostle john and the book of revelation, looked at the symbol as anything unique or even related to the number 666. all I stated at the outset is that it *could have* been david's shield because of its simplicity to make..... for all I know, Judaism didn't adopt it till the rothschilds.
what I am talking about is the current view of the hexagram. everything I stated up to my interpretation of st. paul's debate with the jewish council is solid stuff about the origin of 666 .... the NUMBER, which nowadays represented by the messianic star. Any kabbalist would back me up. Heck, a few of my data points on the origin of the number comes from a protestant minister I know that was allowed to study kabbalah in Israel.
