Sup Forums communism general

Hello Comrades. This general is for the discussion of Marxism-Leninism, the ideology of revolutionary socialism and communism.

Communism is the next stage of humanity following the capitalist stage and the socialist stage.

What exactly is communism according to Marxist-Leninists:

>Communism is a stage of society in which the productive infrastructure is socially owned, and goods are produced not in order to sell for profit, but in order to meet a social need.
>Communism in it's full form is a stateless, classless society that follows the maxim "From each according to their ability, to each according to their need."
>To achieve such a society Marxism-Leninism teaches us that we must replace the capitalist state, which is controlled by the capitalist class, by a socialist state, which is controlled by the working class. Then, a period of class struggle follows in which the capitalist class is liquidated by the working class. When the capitalist class has been completely vanquished, there will be only one class, the working class, and eventually the functions of the state will become indistinguishable from the functions of the society as a whole, and the state as such will 'wither away' as Marx said.

ML uses a philosophy called dialectical materialism, see here:

It is recommended that you read some of the critical works of Marxism-Leninism so you can make an informed assessment of the ideology.

Hello gomrades! X_DDddDD Dis general is for disgussion of margsism-lebonnism, da ideology of ebin revolutionary socialism and gommunism.

Gommunism is da next stage of guckery following real society.

Wat exagtly is gommunism according to gommies:

>Gommunism is a stage of guckery in which the produgtive infrustrugture runs away from gommie country, and no goods are produced and beeple starve. X_-DDDD
>Gommunism in full form is obressive, statist society dat follows maxim "gib gib gib!" :-DDDDd
>To achieve gommunism we must replace broduction with murderous obressive rulers liek me, fug working glass beeple. XDDDD Struggle while I liquidate you all FUG. When capitalists run away we win and I gill you all. Eventually the fungtions of state stob and state becomes murderous and indistinguishable from other gommies. Da state withers away liek da people.

Let's rework the phrase "Fully Automated Luxury Communism." It's really only used as a joke within commie/socialist circles these days.

How about a different approach: Transhuman Socialism.

The idea here is that automation is taking over all sorts of jobs already, and The Singularity is a when rather than an if these days. This is only going to become more and more true.

So how do we cope?

When I was in high school, courses were offered in drafting, coding, electronics, e.t.c. I can only see this stretching until some of those courses become compulsory. Eventually everyone will understand how to use or fix means of production.

The example I usually go to for this kind of work in action is the 3D printer. Supposing they continue to get cheaper to manufacture, and supposing people start receiving the education I mentioned earlier, everyone who owns a 3D printer therefore owns their own means of production and can use them to make and sell shit to others.

As for social issues, once The Singularity comes, and humans are integrated with machines, which race is superior when anyone can be upgraded?

TL;DR
The March of History. You're supposed to experience capitalism fully before you shift to communism. Capitalism is currently all about selling the technology which will ensure its downfall.

Also this chick is hot. Case closed.

(Yes, I get the irony of me having to confirm I am not a robot when proposing we all become cyborgs.)

>luxury
>communism
ahahahahahahahabahahahahahahahahahahahahabahahahahahahahaha

What's the death toll on Capitalism?
How many people die of hunger and thirst because they can't afford food or clean drinking water? How many people have died of preventable illness because they don't have the money for healthcare?

Oh yeah, that's right, you don't keep track of those deaths.

I've an honest question for you:
It is said by numerous communist advocates that real communism has been tried. I've recently began to agree with them, with the following caveat: the process of getting from socialism to communism is insurmountable.
With that said, why is it do you think that trying again through the same processes that failed every other time will have a different result, and how do you think modern-day communists would resolve the issues in the process of ushering in the Utopia?

I refer you to

Interesting read. So say you annex a blank piece of land far into the future, where anything and everything is automated. How do you get started? How do you go from forests and plains to drones, robot butlers and 9-axis robot arms assembling your goods?

communism will win Sup Forums BTFO

Bring supplies, dummie

But how did you procure those supplies?
I suppose my overarching question is, how do you get started? I noticed in your tl;dr you said communism starts once capitalism ends, but does that not mean that communism needs capitalism?

Yes, it does mean communism needs capitalism. That's the whole point of the March of History.

Okay, so now we're in the interesting area. If communism needs capitalism, do you think that communism would be able to take off if a country started off communist?

Nope. You need to experience bartering, feudalism, and capitalism first.

Which is why Russia, China, Korea, e.t.c failed. In the grand scheme of things Russia had only abolished serfdom less than 100 years before the October Revolution. China went basically from Feudalism to Communism overnight. Same with Viet Nam.

The March of History.

Alright, I just wanted to get that question out of the way to clear it up, thanks for answering.
Now, let's say we get to stage five in Marx's historical timeline, socialism. Capitalism's been replaced with a Socialist government and economy. The means of production have been seized, and the working class is woke as fuck.
How is a stage five (socialist) economy any different than a stage one (primitive communist) economy?

Instead of being lead by the strongest warrior or best diplomat, we have a more robust democracy. I have two possibilities for leadership:

1) Sortition. Parliament selected like jury duty. Every citizen has to serve a certain amount of time as a politician.

2) Decentralized democracy. Everyone gets a vote on every issue. You don't necessarily have to vote on everything, just the stuff that pertains to you.

Also we wouldn't hunter/gather our shit anymore.

True on the hunting/gathering, since you're post-capitalist and everything's ready to rumble.
I'm sure sortition would work better than decentralized democracy, because of the tyranny of the majority and whatnot.
However, what stops human nature? Say when you switch to a stage five nation, your dear leader has the best of intentions. What stops a coup led by a Stalin type?
It's been said, "even if you have the best of intentions, when given absolute power, there will always be someone behind you ready to stab you to death in your sleep"

Kek. Luxury automated communism.
Every single time communists opens its shithole to spew his infantile garbage, it just provides countless evidence that it isn't a part of working class, no matter the topic.

Automation is a perfect example - anyone who seriously uses it as an argument has never seen an inside of factory and has no idea about the production process in most factories - just like Marx.

>"even if you have the best of intentions, when given absolute power, there will always be someone behind you ready to stab you to death in your sleep"

>absolute power

Ensure nobody has absolute power. Hence Sortition. No dear leader, just people representing their constituencies.

With sortition, who manages when each person has power?
This question applies to any government system in general that lets the people vote:
Then what stops the proletariat from voting for degenerative (I'll call it degenerative, to refer to something that'd hurt the movement) legislature?

I think in order to figure that out, we'd have to organize a timetable for the transition between current democracy and sortition.

My sorition looks a lot like jury duty, where you have to go through an interview to ensure you're fit for the job. The odd cretin might get through, but not enough for real damage to happen (saving one that's a particularly good orator.)

>I think in order to figure that out, we'd have to organize a timetable for the transition between current democracy and sortition.
You'd have to have some sort of oversight to keep it churning along past the democracy deadline.
>My sorition looks a lot like jury duty, where you have to go through an interview to ensure you're fit for the job
But who organizes it? Is that put to a vote, or is there a government overseeing it?
And then, who enforces it? What if I get selected for power duty, and just decide "fuck it, I don't feel like voting"?

...

>You'd have to have some sort of oversight to keep it churning along past the democracy deadline

>Implying Sortition isn't democratic

Perhaps it's a bit less democratic than what we have currently, but also less susceptible to special interest and cronyism.

I don't have those answers quite yet, but since we're spitballing, I'll give it a whirl.

We'd probably not just immediately implement sortition. There'd likely be a referendum while in the transitionary stage of capitalism/socialism over whether or not to make that shift.

Then have a bipartisan council run a first round of sorition to get a council of professional politicians and newly picked folks. And then when everyone's terms are up, full sorition.

As for deciding not to vote when in power, a history of non-participation would be grounds for dismissal. Non-participation in votes that don't affect your constituency is understandable, but "I'm just not going to vote because I can." isn't.

Terrible example. If you look at my argument for transhuman socialism (), I actually believe capitalism could help in that situation. Capitalism has allowed us to make the advancements that let Grandma live to the grand old age she did and will let future Grandmas live even longer.

Except cancer is nature's way of ensuring that we don't live beyond our natural lifespan

Yeah, I'll admit that a lot of this stuff is a little difficult to see from where we stand. But all the graphs on technology look like hockey sticks. The Singularity is a lot closer than you think.

>country with poor management and high corruption has problems
>must the fault of capitalism
it really boggles my noggin as to how the fuck you arrive at this conclusion.

The same problems if not worse, exist under a communist system. Only difference being that everyone is as worse off as everyone else (except the people who decide that every gets the same).

We're all still figuring things out, user. It's only been fifty thousand years since man first created civilization, and look how far we've come.
I guess we need more political Darwinism to see what will happen. I personally don't think we'll ever make it to the sixth stage (communism), but only time will tell.
Capitalism is by no means perfect, and I do not intend do sell it as such. But thus far it's given us the most of any political system to date. Let's see how it pans out before we give up on it.
