All of media were trying to paint Bill Clinton as this "cool guy" that was totally great for the US and this whole Monica Lewinski thing was like a minor joke straight out of an episode of Friends or Seinfeld and we should all forget about it and move on. Republicans were made to look like evil inquisitionists bringing down this poor man for doing totally cool things! And they went with this narrative for a while even after Bill was gone, painting a reputation for Republicans as these uptight super-Christian villains that were incompatible with modern society.
