Give me one good reason why anyone would want a mortgage/rent when they could buy a comfy caravan to live in instead. Is there a way to escape the rat race?

Caravans are for Gyppos, this is where its at mate, i plan on buying mine in 2 - 3 years and roaming the waterways seducing single mums in marina towns.
>roaming the waterways seducing single mums in marina towns.
LOL
My only worry would be some pissheads walking down the canal at night trying to get on it or chavs setting it on fire whilst you're in it
gotta have a plan for retirement mate, what are you gonna do?
Good luck heating that metal coffin trough the 12 months of winter.
yeah that could be a concern but i dont plan on overnighting anyywhere where its likely to happen, im not planning on renting a marina spot and will just constantly cruise...we got around 3k miles of canals in britain and these babies only manage 5mph if your in a hurry. iIll pop into the busier towns early in the morning for any suppliies or groceries II need and make sure im out in the sticks by the time the chavs turn feral
looks like here
I grew up and lived a few years as an adult on a boat in French Polynesia. This is a pure life, but waaaay more demanding than living on Earth.
And, worry not, you pay everywhere you go, just like with a caravan.
II know its not to everyones taste but i cant iimagine anything more therapeutic than slowly floating down a canal, treas on either side not another soul for miiles around. that boat looks liike ass though.
But you will get boarded by a gang of marauding mudslime who will then proceed to rape and murder your wife in front of you, before torturing you to death.
I've been on that canal all my life and have never seen a barge on it before, even at the New Hope stretch (where that picture is taken). Most of it's being conquered by beavers
People in RVs are one of the lowest forms of life. Imagine spending a hundred thousand dollars so that you can live in a dingy little cramped hotel on wheels. See the world! You mean, drive endlessly down the highway and then park in some nasty RV park? Go eat some poison fast food at the local corporate slop hole? Think of all the gas stations you will see! Make no mistake, RV motorists are like carnies without a circus. Its a pathetic, miserable form of existence.
Ive stayed on a liveaboard a few times, the longest was for 6 weeks and ive never been more at peace in my life, if i could have done it financiiallly any sooner II would have done but I plan on having a boat built to spec and the estimate is 270K, but, if all goes to plan 3 years is the longest itll take me and then ill be retiired at 39, it will be a step down in the luxuries, the passive income ill have when i retire wont allow for extravagance but itll be enough to get by comfortably
any Bucks County people here? Where the fuck are these boats?
Waste, water and electricity are a hassle sometimes. You need a small lot with utilities to call home. But there are legal issues sometimes.
Other than that, me in coming years. Small lot with utilities and something on a trailer. I build.
theres no muzzies in the countryside ovver here mate, and i dont have a wife...im a very soliitary person , thats at least half the reason this appeals to me so much....and if any random mud does attack me in the sticks, when no ones around, well...i wont be pulling any punches.
Unless its one of these im not interested
What do you think of someone with a camper, on land that their paying off?
Perception of them being trashy is hilarious. Who cares anyhow? The real issue is that most are very poorly built with cheap materials. The real redpill is to get land in an area with easy zoning laws, build a large enough house for cheap and add on as your family grows.
The more mobile, the shittier the materials, unless you're ultra rich.
out of curiosity, could say a caravan of like minded individuals vote in any location for national elections? Like say a few hundred conservatives in a few areas around a city thats on the verge of flipping one way or the other.
It gets really expensive very fast. My parents' boat was a pic related, at 1,5 M$ ( not this one in particular ) and even after the initial cost, it cost an arm to stay in the port, and it's a lot of work to keep it clean and safe.
I'd recommand anyone to go on such a lifestyle, but this isn't a light decision.
Your thinking of trailer parks
not RV's you stupid fuck
Then you are paying property tax, to make your kids gay at school. My tax is about 2k a year, for space I don't use. Not for long. Getting liquid and small.
Oh yes! But it's a millionaire thing, really.
I did exactly this. It works, but winter will fuck you up, cost wise. Even a "winter package" will still result in you blowing through money on heating.
So either warm climate, or budget funds for heating.
>buy a comfy caravan to live in
They cost as much as a small house and you still have to pay rent on where you park them and hook them up for electricity/water/sewage.
You don't avoid anything by buying one except eventually having equity and being able to resell it to someone else later for a profit.
I have lived in a caravan, in a caravan park. it was comfy as fuck and unlike city life, the people actually socialize and know each other.
Maintenance is a bitch.
Rather spent summers and autumn at parents holiday resort by the lake and winter time in south east asia warmth. No mortgage or rent never that is winning

cuck
I mean legit living every day, not doing to holiday camping shit
As a proud amerifat I know for a fact that my shits would not only stink up the entire RV, but also clog the fucking toilet.
We aren't all pikeys?
Reminiscent of the noble pioneers who settled this land.
White trash doesn't live in a fucking NEW RV you idiot. They buy one for a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, Then they park all over the place like the trash they are, blown by the wind from walmart to walmart.
id rather live in my car
chuck a blanket in the glove box for when i wanna sleep, buy one of those pocket shower things and just invest in a couple of pairs of trousers and jeans so youre never out when it comes to the dry cleaners
Theres an enormous difference between an ocean going vessel and narrowboat on the british waterway, the cost of living on a boat on the canals is significantlyy lower than living on land, and then theres all thhat freedom that comes with it. the boat im having built is a liittle over a quarter million but thats brand new and with some specific requirements that would bbe considered uncommon, Ivve seen perfectly liveable boats for sale for under 40K. I wont havev port or marina costs as I dont plan on staying in one place, im having the build done in alluminium so as to reduce maintenance costs at a slight initial premium, the whole roof kitted in solar and a hybrid diesel/electric motor to reduce running costs. natural fuel for cooking and heating, with a cheeky gas hob in there just in case....ive planned this out exstensively and im gonna be able to retire young and live cheap as chips
Escaping the rat race is based on the ability to telecommute.
>natural fuel for cooking and heating
You'll stink all your neighbors out. How is this even legal in Britain in this day and age?!
I wont have any neighbours, and a natural fuel stove is pretty standard on narrowboats
Or you could zone for agriculture and not pay property tax at all ;)
Tornadoes
Of course you'd know about being blown by the wind
t. Knacker
Dumbass
Got a huge tract of ag land and I pay out the ass for taxs. Fucking kali
Day of the rake: When?
And it’s a sense of freedom that you don’t get with other holidays...
Idk, I hear Canadians say they fucking hate Trudeau and think he's a massive pussy. There might be hope for them yet.
Except it costs more than a house for the mooring and the boat itself, not to mention that you are running all electrical appliances through the fucking engine.
t. potato stew
I lived in a static for 2 summers.
Pros
>cleaning is super quick
>literally just as good as any flat in terms of bathroom, kitchen and electrical instalments
>You can move it to a new site if needed
Cons
>No bath (unless you get a REALLY high end on)
>internet its awkward to set up and you will generally be reliant on wifi
>you cant rearrange the interior
>potentially less storage space than a flat
The REAL con
>the walls/floor/roof are crappy at keeping in heat so you will spend much more on heating than in a solid build.
You can live pretty cheap out of an RV if you know what you're doing. BLM land is an excellent place to do it in the US southwest. If you have a job you can do from home or some sort of income that isnt being a wageslave, you could totally pull it off
I live on a house boat in Louisiana
I'm a dumbass?
You,
>Bought agricultural land in Cali
>Water issues are a thing
>Have to pay shitty taxes when there are states without this problem
>Currently pissed off enough to lash out at a stranger over it
You seriously don't know what kampers are?
yeah I know, how does my post imply I don't?
also he said knacker
Nah its worth millions. And i'm off the grid, free of wagecucking.
Enjoy your poverty and slavery.
You also sound like you might be a nigger.
