I don't think anyone here thinks that.

There are threads on Sup Forums about Krillin fighting Naruto characters and people are taking them seriously.

Literally only good when someone else reins him in.

I miss him more every day. Please come back to animu, urobutcher.

>le fedora meme

I don't think anyone ever suggested that "Urobutcher" was a cheery one. But dark and edgy doesn't equal bad.

Edgy equals bad, dark doesn't. Edgy might as well mean 'trying to be dark but failing'
Butcher alternates between dark and edgy depending on how far up his own ass he goes.

Of course he is.
He wrote Angela, who is as perfect as perfection goes.

edg·y
ˈejē/Submit
adjective

:at the forefront of a trend; experimental or avant-garde.
"their songs combine good music and smart, edgy ideas"
synonyms: cutting-edge, on-the-edge, fringe, avant-garde, innovative, original, offbeat; gritty
"an edgy new novel"

Quite opposite actually.
It ends up like shit if someone messes with his writing (eg. Gargantia, Aldnoah Zero). But if he gets free reign, it turns into gold (Madoka, EfP, Thunderbolt Fantasy)

I mean the colloquial use, you prancing la la homo man.
Nobody on Sup Forums uses edgy in that way.

One of the better writers in the anime industry.

Urobuchi is the most structurally competent writer in the industry

He also hasn't fallen in love with his own farts like Anno has

GODbuchi is a good writer.
Stay jelly

Has Anno done anything good post-EoE?

He's a good writer.

The Godzilla movie was pretty good, but we gotta see if he can do more than that.

How come Angela didn't end up being raped by DEVA machines or something? It doesnt read like an urobuchi story.

From a porn game writer to writing for Godzilla. He's living the dream.

I like that he likes challenging himself. I hope he gets to write the gundam show of his dreams.

Also, katanas don't make sense, he's not Narahara. Replace them with guns.

phantom of inferno wasnt really a porn game though, it was a thriller

He is though. Have you seen thunderbolt fantasy?

He isn't wrong you know.

About the Butcher, Madoka was the only good thing he did and honestly, it isn't even that good. The thing that makes Sup Forums and most of anime fans think highly of him is that he avoid many standard anime tropes and stories.

to be fair its kind of questionable how much of the writing was done by urobuchi and how much was done by the taiwanese staff.

Oh and apparently the anime is some kind of puppet show? How the fuck does that work?

AI YO isn't madness

>to be fair its kind of questionable how much of the writing was done by urobuchi and how much was done by the taiwanese staff.

All the writing was done by him. He was also the production supervisor.
It's his most hands-on project since Django.

It's not questionable when there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff. Also, watch it. You won't regret it

He's good. Not great, but good which is impressive since he's not originally a scriptwriter.
He's using less and less his usual quirks since Gargantia too, and that's a good thing. Madoka was very predictable for people who knew his games.

He's alright but his shows almost always end up being really fun. Psycho Pass is his best anime in my opinion.

So how come expelled from paradise got a happy ending?

butch is a god tier anime writer simply for having written something good ever,

The story was originally much darker but they wanted something more light hearted, so he wrote a story where death is meaningless since Diva could just make copies of a person.

Same thing happened with the F/GO event, the script he wrote was darker than F/Z but he ended up rewriting the whole thing to be as happy as possible.

...

It's tough to call because on one hand, he was responsible for Madoka.
On the other hand, he was responsible for Rebellion.

>no mention of Saya
For shame.

Hello newfag

He can write some good characters at least

Micchy did literally nothing wrong.

He's pretty decent.
I think there a lot worse in the anime industry and people mostly shit on him because they happen to know his name.

Agreed. Urobuchi is at his best when he's unrestrained and has more creative control over the projects he's involved in. Fate/Zero, Phantom, and Kikoukugai also exemplify this trend. Conversely, when he has less control over a series, it either is questionable or ends up being written less coherently (Psycho Pass ending, Madoka Rebellion).
