But I actually watched the first season and two episodes of the second one.

It was fine but eventually started to get boring, the threads were absolutely the worst part of it; they were embarrassing and cancerous at that point. Trying to prove otherwise is straight up pitiful.

2015 was the worst year since 2000. When OPM is the only thing that will be remembered in a few years you know you've got a garbage year on your hands. This make the title of AOTY completely meaningless.

A lot of "hipsters" will like OPM because sakuga. The refined and sophisticated things to like in anime don't really correlate with popularity. A lot of those kinds of people approach it more from a standpoint of production quality which is often independent of popularity.
