So now that Yuri on Ice is on its way to become the best selling anime of the year, can we agree that fujos are saving the industry?
Parker Mitchell
wtf it'll top out at like 12k
Love Live is the best selling anime
Ryan Myers
>this webm Wait what? Was there a camera change around the 3rd second before he finishes spinning to cross arms or is it a shitty in-between job?
Adrian Morgan
Vol 1 is currently predicted to have over 20k points by the end of its run, but successful fujoshi shows usually double what stalker predicts since fujos usually buy their anime from other online stores and even storefront. That prediction is just going to skyrocket from now on. Volume 1 will definitely sell over 60k.
Colton Jackson
Doesn't change that it'll be dwarfed by love live at the end of it all.
Henry Watson
I see a close tie, leaning over YoI
Robert Hernandez
Gay iceskating will be lucky to break a 30k average, love live is looking to be a 60k average.
Gavin Johnson
...
Jack Watson
Holy shit, that QUALITY, so the only skating scene in this that was actually impressive were the ones in the first episode and it is still going to sell a ton while something consistently high quality like Flip Flappers flops. Fucking nips.
Andrew Lopez
Osomatsu Vol1 >Stalker points across 4 versions 44,471 >Actual first week sales 79,108 >Sales after 3 weeks 114,295
Free! Vol1 >Stalker points across 2 versions 15,131 >Actual first week sales 25,726 >Sales after 3 weeks 32,747
UtaPri 2015 >Stalker points across 2 versions 25,918 >Actual first week sales 49,277 >Sales after 3 weeks 60,580
Jason Roberts
>flopping this hard Won't even surpass hibike
Leo Gonzalez
>Vol 1 is currently predicted to have over 20k points by the end of its run, but successful fujoshi shows usually double what stalker predicts since fujos usually buy their anime from other online stores and even storefront. YOI is only doing well on Amazon, all the other retailers shows that its getting beaten by Touken this season.
Jaxon Richardson
...
Brandon Robinson
>it actually sold because is gay fufufufufufufufu
Grayson Cooper
Flip Flappers is shit.
Ian Lopez
All those shows did well on Amazon and other retailers. YOI is only doing well on Amazon so more than likely its overestimated.
Easton Campbell
Bullshit.
Liam Lee
>Yuri on Ice is on its way to become the best selling anime of the year LL sold twice than what this can achieve. Not including the CD's, merch, and idol stuff
Jack Perez
>one store
Okay
Benjamin Ortiz
Yuri on Ice is doing great in other retailers retards.
Samuel Clark
Post HMV and DMMR. Now shut the fuck up
Gavin Ortiz
>yet to provide even one example of a store where his claim is true
Carter Long
>Yuri on Ice is on its way to become the best selling anime of the year hehehe. Keep dreaming
Tyler Stewart
No?
Levi Evans
If what we have ahead of us are more pandering ridden shows with shit characterization like Yuri then I weep for all future fujo anime. Hopefully it's just a fad and fujos will get tired of cheap fanservice after a couple shows.
Kevin Hughes
Animate is perhaps the biggest store right after Amazon, if it's doing well there and in Amazon, it's pretty much confirmed to sell twice as Stalker predicts
Ayden Hall
Still not being beaten by Touken.
Jonathan Mitchell
>Yuri on Ice is doing great in other retailers retards.
Joshua Phillips
>Animate is perhaps the biggest store right after Amazon, Nope
Oliver Russell
Of curse it did because is gay, why would such a mediocre show sell otherwise? The show made people discuss whether two fags kissed or not, that's how retard and incompetent the fanbase is.
Aiden Powell
gamers shop is completely irrelevant you know that right?
Juan Collins
>Animate is perhaps the biggest store right after Amazon, Its not. Also Oso, Uta and Free were doing better and other retailers so all your predictions are bullshit. Wait a fucking week before spouting shit.
Andrew Morales
Free wasn't. Stop bullshitting. Free was only doing well on Animate and Amazon, just like YoI is.
Jason Diaz
...
Justin Baker
>ujos are saving the industry I remember when the last season, you all said that fujos will save the industry, then....BOOM. Love Live slaughtered 16 fujo shows and left their studios crawling
Are you guys sure you wanted to jinx it again? Citrus was announced and Symphogear is comng again
Aaron Foster
Why are anti-fujoshi so anally devastated? Does it really hurt your manhood if YoI becomes the best selling anime of the year?
Chase Davis
>Its irrelevant because I say so
Great argument
It was. Free was doing well on most retailers while Yuri is only doing well on Amazon. If you think its ranking on Animate will stick then you're a fucking idiot.
Luke Perez
Dude, we are laughing
James Carter
More irrelevant stores. The only stores that matter are Amazon and Animate. Come on newfriends stop being so retarded.
Michael Ross
>Sup Forums in full damage control mode when a fujoshit show is successful Always an amusing sight. Especially when they start shilling crap like LL Sunshine in the process.
Michael Martinez
You must be pretty mad to be desperately posting irrelevant stores.
James Brown
> Free was doing well on most retailers
No it wasn't.
Noah Carter
>YoI becomes the best selling anime of the year? Why are fujoshi so fucking stupid?
Evan Foster
It's literally impossible that it'll be the best selling show of the year. Just what do you take it for?
Jaxson Rodriguez
>lol u mad? XD Sure, ok
Sebastian Anderson
>Calling anything that proves you wrong irrelevant >Thinks Animate is a big retailer >Calling other newfriends
Landon Morris
Tbh I just really don't like Yuri and will be mad as fuck if it outsells Tourabu.
Ryan Harris
The tears are going to be amazing once it blows LL the fuck out. This image will once again be relevant.
Caleb Reed
>YOI is only doing well on Amazon, all the other retailers shows that its getting beaten by Touken this season.
So you were wrong right?
Justin Davis
>it blows LL the fuck out I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING
Landon Price
>this thread >damage control mode
Easton Scott
That wasn't me.
Matthew Cooper
Fujo aside, YoI just isn't a good show in general. Turn Yuri into a girl and it'd still be garbage.
Robert Butler
Stop pulling that out of your ass every time. It will never reach 60k.
Asher Miller
This
Camden Harris
Tur everyone into a cute girl then
Gavin King
LL Sunshine will average around 55k. If YoI manages to keep this momentum, it will beat it easily. The show has no signs of losing steam, we'll probably see it on the top 10 tomorrow.
Benjamin Gutierrez
yes
Joshua Phillips
>new Love Live sold that well >people here even liked it What the hell? I barely see it mentioned and the new girls haven't got any porn.
Nathan Miller
This is what bothers me. It's just so shit overall, I don't want to believe this many people would be willing to spend money on non-characters and shit animation just because it has fanservice.
Zachary Murphy
See
Nathaniel Evans
>he still shilling for it
Samuel Diaz
>All these butt-hurt non believers.
Daniel Lewis
see So Yurifags can't read?
Matthew Brooks
>Amazing opening and ending >Gay Russians >Dog >Good story for a sport anime >Original anime >Waifus >Comedy moments >Good animation Nips have good taste for once.
Owen Edwards
>>Good animation You got me until this part.
Jordan Cooper
>Waifus This show has the best waifus of the season.
Easton Sanchez
Christ, that was horrid. I've seen better flash animations at YouTube
Dominic Jenkins
>Good animation oh you
Lucas Jones
You must never watch or like sports anime in general if you think the skating is well done from a sports anime point of view.
Adrian Brown
Aside from not spending a bunch of episodes in one match like the average sports anime, YoI is a pretty good sports anime. If it wasn't for the yaoi fanservice, shitty animation and garbage jDrama-like editing I'd actually like it a lot.
Ayden Cruz
It was finally imploded, huh?
Only Haikyuu, Hibike, and FliFLa has the best animation so far then.
Colton Phillips
No it isn't. The sport aspect is completely uninspiring. There's no buildup, there's no tension. Shit just happens and you get a winner in the end. Having long exciting matches that focus on different things is exactly what makes sports anime good, and Yuri has none of that. The animation in said matches is also important, and you can clearly see how they dropped the ball there too. The skating in Yuri is as well done as the baseball was in Battery.
Jackson Nguyen
There were 4 episodes of buildup, I don't think you watch the show.
Kevin Flores
I mean to the result of the match. Escalations that make things exciting as it's taking place.
Mason Evans
Build up with figure skating?
Ryan Scott
Figure skating is short. You can't have that without it being ridiculous.
Gavin Garcia
Sure you can. Someone who knows what they're doing would've managed to make it at least a bit more exciting. It's a combination between the animation and the direction, at which they both failed horribly. Even Free managed to have more attractive matches, and swimming is even more simplistic than figure skating.
Ryder Phillips
Sports anime is about the thrill of competition, the joy of winning and the sorrow of losing, and seeing the characters give their all during training while managing their own personal struggles, so that it pays off at the end. It's not about spending 10 episodes on a 90 minute match while having characters monologuing in their minds. Yuri on Ice and Hibike are in fact the best shows in the past few years that have captured the feeling of competition accurately.
Evan Hall
>YoI haters on suicide watch Keep bitching, your tears and complaints are delicious.
Noah James
>thrill of competition Nonexistent in Yuri. >winning and the sorrow of losing Awfully handled. I mean, these characters barely even feel like they have a personality. It's all extremely shallow and unmemorable. Training and matches are two completely different things. Ideally you would make both interesting and have different events take place during each. Something Yuri isn't doing either. Please don't compare Hibike to this.
Nathaniel Campbell
Aren't otaku shows all stream and merchandising nowadays anyway?
Michael Baker
>scratch Who did that?
Evan King
Can we stop pretending Occultic Nine doesn't exist? It's shit but the production is the best of any anime this season
Henry Scott
I don't think it's possible to do what you want with figure skating. It's a "boring" sport and the athletes have to surpass themselves, not other skaters, everytime they skate their routines. They skate the same shit, the same dance and the same jumps for a entire season. There's no direct conflict with other competitors.
Austin Jackson
Aside from the first 3 episodes, there hasn't been much sakuga. And most of the character animation is rotoscoped. The characters themselves look very blurred for some reason. I'd say it has the best shot composition but that's about it.
Benjamin White
But Hibike is the same. They're going to play the same two pieces for the three competitions (Locals, Regionals, and Zenkoku). Each level is probably going to focus on a different part of the performance though. (Trumpet in S1, Oboe S2 part and Euphonium in S2 part 3.)
Logan Brown
>It's shit No, it's better then this gayshit
Noah Scott
Its a generic curazy murder mystery that'll be solved with asspull, like Ranpo Kitan.
Robert Wright
Try more buzzwords next time, shitstain
Brayden White
If anything it's the opposite of generic. When was the last time you saw the victims turn into ghosts and solve their own crime?
