I was studying PolSci and Governence, but something about the demenor of people working for the government just bothered me. They work from 9 to 5, have no ambition and seem to be leeching of tax payers money. The benefits and job security are great but they will never move up on the ladder.
So I decided to switch to Finance and Control with a minor in Tax Law.
Did I make the right decision Sup Forums? I just don't want to end up as a braindead government official.

Dude working for the government can be awesome. you just need to work in the right devision. from 18-23 i worked with the department of interior, and yeah absolutely no one does shit-all. there is no need to go above and beyond, its one of those things you don't understand until you work for a bureaucracy the size of the united states government.
The job had so many perks, literally all i had to do was show up. I can't speak for other devisions of government but i had a TON of room for advancement if i wanted to choose a career path through the government, most just required relocating. looking back i should have stayed on and said fuck college. i literally made more money at 22 then i do at 25, which sucks. I was offered a park ranger position in Alaska which paid way more than i was making where i was at, and that didn't even account for cost of living being so damn high in the city. i don't know how well i would do in alaska but i was a boyscout for awhile, so i would have survived. thats one of those missed opportunities i will think about for the rest of my life, like, what could have been? where would i be now if i packed up and moved to alaska..
