Alexander Peterson
This being the closest thing to an LN thread, I may as well post this here.
Whoever it is who keeps uploading Kindle rips of Yen Press novels to the sekrit klub, could you please pick a source to rip from other than Kindle?
Kindle is pretty much the only source that deliberately murders image quality. Pick Google Play Books or Kobo or something that actually allows a publisher to save the images in the original non downscaled resolution, and with JPG quality 98 instead of 40.
William Wood
>6. Ninja Slayer AIEEEEEEEEE
Thomas Jackson
Konosuba has fourteen volumes and an anime and just now get included in this list.
Doesn't that mean this list doesn't mean jack shit? It's looks to be just a mere popularity contest otaku.
Elijah Butler
>1. Misaka Mikoto (Toaru Majutsu no Index Series) BIRIBIRI STRONK

Easton Allen
>1. Overlord >3. Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? Finally japan gets some decent taste
Jacob Hernandez
nah, oscar is on a much higher level
Christopher Ward
Konosuba didn't even make the top 30 best-selling series in 2015.
Logan Nguyen
My nigga!
Julian Wood
>Goblin slayer God damn. I feel like an anime is coming. At least I'm glad that the long name trend was over, the high school battle harem is almost over.
Nicholas Hernandez
>Ryuuou no Oshigoto! >Kuzuryu Yaichi is youngest shogi champion - Ryuou (dragon's king) - in history. And here is a girl - Hinazuru Ai, who ask him to become his disciple. Too yong for his title, Yaichi is going to revive his shogi trough passionate disciple.... wait, Ai-chan is 9 y.o.? She is an elementary schoolgirl! And... is she going to live with Yaichi? All night until morning? What? Officer, can we have you here, please! A comedy about shogi-holic live-in disciple.
Hudson White
They vote, but they are not going to buy that LN anymore......
Aiden Adams
It got massive boost as the result of the anime I think.
Christian Richardson
Where is Kyoani's Violet Evergarden?
Colton Cruz
animeonlyfags would just watch that instead of lizard/climb arc of overlord
Oh fuck yeah it did, they sold 750,000 books in the first two quarters of this year, by far the best-seller. It's not surprising at all that it wouldn't have registered in last year's Kono Ranobe ga Sugoi. The series was largely unknown.
Elijah Edwards
>Ninja Slayer
WHAT THE FUCK
HOW
Isaiah Sullivan
>Mahouka not in top 10
Camden Cruz
That's a massive drop. Is Kamachi planning to end it soon?
Daniel Ortiz
>1. Misaka Mikoto (Toaru Majutsu no Index Series) Yes. Mai Mikoto is still sitting on the throne. >2. Rem (Re:Zero) Figured. I knew she was going to be somewhere in the top 2-5. >3. Megumin (Konosuba) Good. I expected 2nd or 3rd place. I'd prefer 2nd place though. >4. Asuna ( Sword Art Online) Of course. >4. Yukinoshita Yukino (Oregairu) Nice tying with 4th place. Yukino is still strong.
>1. Kamijou Touma (Toaru Majutsu no Index Series) >2. Kirito (Sword Art Online) >3. Accelerator (Toaru Majutsu no Index Series) >4. Natsuki Subaru (Re:Zero) >4. Hikigaya Hachiman ( Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru) Expected. >7. Shiba Tatsuya ( Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei) >8. Kazuma ( Konosuba) Figured Kazuma would be top 5 at least. >9. Sora ( No Game No Life) Good to see Sora is still top 10. >10. Kyousuke Shiroyama (Mitou Shoukan://Blood Sign) Unexpected, but Kyousuke is awesome so this is nice.
Still sad to see Izayoi is still knocked off the top 10.
>1. Ryuuou no Oshigoto! This came unexpected. >2. Re:Zero >3. Toaru Majutsu no Index Series >4. Sword Art Online Naturally. >5. Goblin Slayer It's nice to see GS that up. >9. Konosuba A lot lower than I expected.
>1. Overlord >2. Monogatari Series >4. Mushoku Tensei I'm fine with this.
Aiden James
Fans being cucked 3 years in a row does wonders to a series. heavy object was pretty good though
Hudson Rodriguez
On the garbage can.
Jaxon Scott
Why is Ryuuou no Oshigoto even that popular? From what I can tell it has a loli heroine who moves in with the MC (presumably alone) and judging by the later volume covers this probably turns into a harem of sorts, but being a shogi series I wouldn't expect this level of fandom.
The art is nice, at least.
Carson Sanchez
>Index that high
Dengeki probably paid these guys to boost its rankings in an attempt to get readers to buy the novels.
Christopher Long
So-bin not being number 1 illustrator means this list is bullshit
Samuel Richardson
Can't have no dirty corean winning a japanese competition!
Xavier Russell
Blood Sign is doing amazing despite no anime promotion! All hail the Queen!
Gabriel Wright
>They thought Rem would beat Mikoto and dethrone her. Lol

>tfw you'll never have a tsundere vampire daughter(adopted)
Joseph Wilson
a tsundere vampire daughter(adopted) is a lot of responsibility
Luis Parker
Kumo is kinda a bad mother too. She's kinda like those Chinese tiger moms but not really.
Ian Martinez
Why is Oregairu here? Isn't this supposed to rank only things that had a release this year?
Brayden Richardson
I'm not entirely sure if that's how it works. Perhaps it's just a "what is popular at this moment in time" popularity contest.
James Bailey
Aw shiet, mah nigga Touman took the top. Quite unexpected that index did do well, considering how much the sales plummeted. >mikoto misaka too stronk, no wonder she's there in every book
Owen Sanders
I thought Rem would beat Misaka this time... I wonder what the vote difference was.
Brandon Reyes
>Oregairu I want the last volume to come out already.
Thomas Sanchez
Not even Chinese mother eat their own child when drunk.
Hunter Hill
I recall a zealous Remfag clamoring on about Rem beating Mikoto. A close match, but a lose is a lose. Tears licking is in order.
Josiah Mitchell
Do you know how much the difference in votes was between them?
William Phillips
I wonder too. But whatever it is Mikoto won, and Rem is more of a seasonal(or annual) waifu unlike Mikoto who had been popular for years and years.
Caleb Richardson
I didn't mean to quote you
Anthony Collins
Wait, what does the novel category mean? I don't remember seeing it divided like this in previous years
Nathaniel Rodriguez
We need scans of the magazine to know the numbers.
Isaac Adams
>Still sad to see Izayoi is still knocked off the top 10. Same. Izayoi deserved a top 5 spot at least. Guess that's what happens when your series ends and you're not the protagonist of the sequel.
Jaxon Cruz
Izayoi is still a main character though. He's basically the male deuteragonist. Nothing against Homura since he's good, but most fans naturally would still read to see Izayoi, plus old cast members too.
Hudson Lee
The will of Our Queen cannot be defied!
Dylan Taylor
It has more pages (300+pages) so it's no longer light (around 180 pages for LN).
Samuel Adams
Wrong. Most LNs are in the 200-300 page range. Many Dengeki releases are longer. Index, for example, regularly goes above 400+, and Horizon is 2-4 times as thick.
Eli Wright
Kawakami is a treasure.
David Scott
The Light in Light Novel means it's easier to read, not the actual lenght of the book. Each Horizon volume is between 700 and 1100 pages long and it's still a LN.
James Richardson
Can someone get them for us? I wonder
Oliver Diaz
>1. Kamijou Touma (Toaru Majutsu no Index Series)
>1. Misaka Mikoto (Toaru Majutsu no Index Series) STRONK
Anthony Watson
>KonoKoi continuously been in top 10 best new series >STILL no translations I just want my cute, gender dysphoric tomboy loving
Camden Perry
>Canon even in rankings
William Hill
It's a marketing meme. There's no definition of LN that doesn't have obvious exceptions.
Jayden Hill
3 of 10 best male character is written by kamachi 4 of 10 best male character is written by kamachi.
I like this.
Joseph Richardson
You have no idea.
Ryan Cooper
>All of them have no anime to boost them yet got top places Kamachi rules.
John Cox
I'm happy yet slightly mad that Kyousuke got in before Hamazura did.
Jackson Baker
Wasn't Hamazura in the top 10 back in 2011? I'm more surprised H&Q aren't in but the announcement bait and switch probably put a damper on that plus the votes splitting between them.
I'm happy that those 4 get some recognition but i wish Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari was on that list. I'd be totally fine if the other 3 besides overlord had an anime before tate no yuusha.
Jacob Gonzalez
>2. Rem (Re:Zero) >8. Emilia (Re:Zero)
Emiliafags BTFO
Cooper Price
>1. Overlord >3. Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? >4. Mushoku Tensei Oh yes, I'm extremely fine with all of these, especially MT which I think wasn't even in the list last year. Once vols 15-18 get adapted I feel its popularity will increase even more.
>2. Re:Zero >9. Konosuba
I thought Konosuba would be ranked a little higher, but Re:Zero is as expected.Index that high and Heavy Object nowhere in sight is a travesty btw
Looks the like the isekai/narou wave finally hit hard. Last year there were almost none of them on that list and look now.
Camden Miller
>husbando of the year all years Hoshino motherfucking Kazuki not in best nale characters Shit taste, nippon.
Benjamin Johnson
>9. Boukyuku Tantei Series Fuck yeah, this needs an anime, dorama is not enough.
Benjamin Rodriguez
Nah, Hamazura never made it.
Carson Davis
I think HO is too 'Murrican for the nips who vote in these.
John Smith
Hail the White Queen. Adaptation soon.
Cameron Davis
>i wish Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari was on that list
Xavier Price
>11th place So close yet so far, that must have been what I was thinking.
William Morgan
Was planning on getting this in my next batch of books since it seems highly rated. Lowest average volume score is 4.5/5 stars on amazon with a decent number of reviews per book. That's fairly rare for a LN and it usually means that the author builds on their strong points.
Mason Miller
Where can i see the rest of the list?
Dominic Morgan
>The Light in Light Novel means it's easier to read That seemed to be original intent and the average LN prose is quite manageable but then you have authors that love playing around with their writing behind some of them as well. Kawakami alone should tell you that can't be the actual definition for it.
Jacob Ward
I was just talking about the 2011 rankings Index managed from th BT page
Eli Foster
>No Mahouka This list is shit.
Joseph Bennett
They just can't handle the twin sons of liberty. Simply impossible for the japs.
Connor King
What is it about?
Ryder Collins
But Onii-sama is there just a couple spots above Ani-ue.
Ethan Williams
Well, it's not in the novels ranking at all. I guess it doesn't matter in the character ranking.
