I travel to detroit sometimes, and helped restaff our office a few months ago.
Not being from the area, and training a new tech we were in a deplorable area of detorit.

Flint on the other hand is an example of what happens when a local government gives up completely.
I am not scared easily but I felt fear for a brief moment being in Flint and I'm from Chicago. Chicago is so naturally full of activity - it really is safe imo.
