Pretty good actually. Obviously the nazis are the bad guys but there's worse nazis and then some you actually sympathize with. On the whole they paint them as just regular human beings who are misguided by the worst elements (both people and ideas) within the national socialist movement.

The way they treat the Japanese, on the other hand, is bullshit. All mystical honor driven badasses despite that in the first episode the jap we're expected to sympathize with executes another protagonist's family.

That changes rather abruptly in the second season.

You totally forgot where they show the Japanese brutally conducting reprisals, and transporting uranium on buses with zero fucks given towards the health of non-Japanese passengers. Or the fact that Juliana had to blow some Nip official, and the corruption with the Yakuza.

The Trade Minister is OK, but the rest of the Japanese are (accurately) depicted as complete assholes.

I really fucking hated the Japs in this show. That is until it was revealed that they invading Japs slaughtered all the Japanese-Americans we stuck in concentration camps. Apparently they thought all expats were traitors to grorious nippon. I can respect that.

Terrible, boring characters.

World building is okay. You basically just have to shut up and accept that Japan and Germany somehow miraculously have the manpower to occupy the entire world despite both being utterly exhausted and in ruins at the end of the war even when they win.

Also the depiction of Nazi Germany as a hyper well-run super-efficient bureaucracy is at odds with how it was in reality and how totalitarian regimes work and just perpetuates this dumb myth that "gosh darn those Nazis were evil but they made the trains run on time!"

I stopped putting it on my computer's main screen about halfway through season 1. Since then it's been relegated to second-screen while I play vidya/shitpost.

you're not wrong but overall they depict them as not as bad as the nazis, and they are making the resistance to be as bad as the japs they're fighting.

The book is based off the whole "victors write history" thing with PKD. Your suppose to look at the way the Axis rewrite history and ask yourself if the Allies did the same thing. Then your suppose to look at the Germany vs Japan nuke race and ask if the Russians turned into a defensive "evil empire" because Americans are scary and aggressive.

If he had directly asked that shit in the 60's he would have been arrested for being a commie.


Now for the show...

Cartoon Nazi's where Thursdays are Jew burning days and everyone know it. The Nazi's are scary good at everything and it seems like a utopia... Minus the cartoonish "they burned everyone in Africa alive" and "muh holocaust" type history they keep hinting at.

There's a lot of good world building but again... cartoon nazi's.

Better than expected. They try to make the narrative of the show about "muh evil nazis," but to anyone watching the show that isn't a mindless drone, it's blatantly obvious that the world in the show is much better than the state of America today.

The people are patriotic, well-dressed, and well-educated. There is very little degeneracy, and very little crime. People are happy in the show, and it seems like people still have a sense of community.

Some of the "resistance" characters are obviously opposed to the "evil nazis," but they don't exactly state why. It's something that the shows' writers seem to suggest can just be assumed. But for many viewers, including myself, it looks like a better world.

That Nazi USA place looks really nice. Clean, no locked doors, white and so on. But would you really want to be spied upon so much?

The Resistance are a bunch of narcissistic assholes that kill innocents in terrorist actions or are indifferent to innocents being killed in repirsal attacks. The Japanese Secret policeman and Smith work together for peace. Smith is ordered to raze an American city by his fellow SS but refuses the order. Himler attempts to save Tokyo when discussing a first stike scenario but begrudgingly obeys an order to keep Tokyo on the stike list. Hitler wanted continued peace and was keeping his extremists party members in check.

It's okay, the resistance is both unlikeable and fleshed out, so you really viscerally want to see them gassed.

The Nazis are nice, good aesthetics, fine people and good vibes for the most part. The writers are subhuman Kikes who don't know how real human emotions work, so they put in things that they think make them look unquestionably evil(thus tainting the rest of their character). But they don't understand how normal human emotions work so it looks laughably cartoonish, like some satirical Sup Forums meme IRL.

Short version is: enjoy the aesthetics and hope that the Nazis gas chamber (((Frank Fink))) in the next episode.

I agree, however a lot of the alternate history scenarios are pretty convoluted and non-feasible desu. I think the reason why people can't depict Nazis winning is because we'll never know what the world would be like under the Nazis, but I think that's what makes Wolfenstein The New Order (except that trash sequel) and Man in the High Castle so interesting.

Basically a reverse Wolfenstein: The New Colossus.

I stopped watching because of the cringe-worthy, unnecessary love relationship that was forming. Might be good in later episodes but I dont need the same old "spy meets woman of the other side and becomes a changed man" boring trope story, especially in my Nazi glorification shows.

Well, I can guess to you what the world would look like, but we have to start with a certain set of assumptions.

Let's say for example, that Hitler's Nazi Germany had conquered the Soviets in 1941 - with this, the Allies get indecisive about the war's prospects. They now face a Nazi Europe that could, conceivably, compete even against an American/anglo invasion. Rather than pushing their luck, the Allies parlay for peace.

Great Britain remains an independent state, but their colonies are stripped from them in the peace deal. German influence expands across the commonwealth countries. America stands on their own and likely exerts their own influence over Canada. Australia becomes a tug-of-war between Japan, America, and German-Europe. So we end up with a world divided amongst these three nations, followed by a cold-war as each independently invents nuclear weapons. Cuba, Turkey, and Great Britain become flashpoints because of their proximity to America and Europe respectively, allowing them to act as launch points for nuclear weapons.

The petro dollar probably never comes to pass; America can't exert that much influence in the middle east, and GB is a de-fanged lion, while Germans and Japanese aren't stupid enough to tie themselves to Oil after experiencing the shortages in the war. Everyone goes for mass nuclearization and eventually electric vehicles, so the middle east never concentrates any kind of wealth. Jews are all moved to madagascar where they either create a moderate influence over that area of Africa and contend with South Africa/Zimbabwe/Rhodesia for influence, or become essentially a dysfunctional almost-failure because jews are not actually good at creating and running civilizations.

The space race begins with germans having a significant lead, and it remains the same as before - ICBM development under the guise of exploration. Though there is more competition with a third party.

It would be incredibly stupid to do it - take a look at Rome's borders.

Why did it surround the med coastline? Because trade and travel over the ocean is substantially easier than on land. Half the strength of Europe in the modern era is simply the easy access to coastlines. Anywhere that is landlocked will struggle economically. Not even highways and rails can compete with travel over water.

There is plenty of room in northern africa and east of the urals in russia. No need to dam the med.

You started out alright and then you went into pure retardation mode. Germany would have gained the Soviet oil fields and had a direct path to the Middle East so they would have easily been able to sustain oil production and most likely would have ramped it up big time after defeating the Soviets.

Yes they definitely would have been able to prevent a mainland invasion or push it back with their manpower if they would have defeated the Soviets as planned. The U.K most likely would have sued for peace but would lose their African colonies. The U.S would continue to war with Japan but I am not sure if they would care about Europe at this point. Japan experiences poor resources would have most likely still lost to the U.S unless Germany decides it's really worth it to help them which I doubt they would, they would most likely be amassing a force to be able to rival America. From there it most likely would have been the German Empire vs the U.S.A. As far as nuclear bombs go it most likely would have been the same where it would have just turned into a Cold War with Germany.
