If the mods were capable of actually policing threads, that'd be great. They're not, because they hand out meaningless bans that shitposters just reset their phones to get rid of, so their only "solution" is just to remove threads.

Not going to comment on whether it's good policy or not. I don't think the mods will be able to stick to it, because there simply aren't enough of them. The board is tragically under-moderated, so obvious trash like bait, request threads, saucefags, etc. have free reign.

Changing a policy yet being ineffective in enforcing it is worse than leaving the policy as it is. It emboldens shitposters and dismays the well intended. It's a bit shocking the mods are considering changing the rules when they don't have the manpower to enforce them as they are now.

Maybe the latest janitor recruitment drive will help, but they haven't in the past. In fact it's gotten worse.
