Yeah I know man. 7 years is a long ass time, and a 6 figure salary isn't so impressive at 35. Guys who were dumber than me in high school who went into finance/business jobs are pulling those 6 figures now in their 20s.
That post was just me trying to make myself feel better about the huge mistake I made in going into medicine in the first place.
I don't actually have to work but I did have an offer to go to police academy a while ago after I got out of the Army as a door kicker. I wanted to see where I stood on the entrance exams and entertained the idea, but decided to move out of state to be with my fiance. A friend that was currently with that department told me I scored in the 90-95th percentile for both the physical and test which isn't too bad given a complete lack of education in criminal justice. LEO isn't bad but I'm not sure I would rate it God tier though. It's probably best to know how to do any handy work around the house on your own, farming and how to fire a weapon effectively. A combination of farming/military is probably the best for no nonsense caring for your family in hard times.

My contribution to society will be to prevent blindness and restore vision in people with pathologies of the eye.
