the teeth girl

YOOOUUUUUU MAY DREAM

also top dad

the spoons girl

Best girl

doesn't she end up with some old man though?

she was with a doctor the entire time

What a slut

Its shit, especially last few episodes that were filler. The animation was underwhelming, low budget static manga panels on screen. Better read manga. The constant recaps and the OP started to play in the middle of the episode.

>Filler
They weren't "filling" anything. This show is more creative than 90% of all other anime.

not that the age gap wasn't weird but he 28, so relatively old I guess

>Better read manga
The manga is trash. Anno made this series good, and it sure showed.

Jesus, user, get some taste.

>filler.

WHERE'S MUH PLOT GODAMMIT

will we ever get a BD? or at least a decent DVD rip?

I really doubt it

...

Last few episodes were filler and have nothing to do with the series. Also at that time the director (Anno) stopped working on it. It shows. The constant recaps each episode and 2 whole episodes of recap shows they had big budget problems... Creative ye? They were copy pasting manga panels on screen and showing power point frames. Well, its kinda creative for the budget they were working with, but its still shit.

>Creative ye?
>Well, its kinda creative

That's what dropped it from 9/10, to 7/10 for me.

That's not really what filler means, is it?

Do they have anything to do with the plot? No.
Does it matter? Not really.
Did Tsurumaki do a good job on the episodes he directed? Yes.

Is the show better for it rather than being a straightforward adaptation? Unquestionably.

I'd take budget and other problems behind the scenes any day if they result in things like paper cutouts, burning the cels onscreen, and the manga style that would later be used in FLCL.

that is a decent rip, it just looks like that

La chica de los dientes.

Le mouthbone madame

problem is that guy only released 4 eps so

There needs to be more simple duets. Fucking love the ED.

youtube.com/watch?v=xIyZxOtNfa8

Yes and its shit.

You are shit.

What was his purpose?

I wish they had more budget. It was great, but most of time it was like looking at slide show or subtitles on white background

you forgot constant recaps.
KareKano is meh.

Been years desu. Probably couldnt handle it now

> Let's talk about Kare Kano

.

Best part is the dentist's monologue about how he can't connect with girls of his age and how Maho is so different to any girl he dated before. That's pretty much a pedophile mindset

let's not

Everyone is shitting on the final episode, but as a teenager I felt that it really made me understand what falling in love meant.

comic relief

This is a total exaggeration. Most episodes are animated normally and even there are only a few recap episodes.

I don't know how fangirls can say Shinji is a faggot when Soichiro is x1000 worse and he has a cute girlfriend, a homo bro that doesn't lose his head and loving adoptive parents. If only Anno allowed Sadamoto to give Shinji a hair bang as he want to. Anno refused because he said Shinji would be too good looking and he wanted Shinji to look like an average kid

>Shinji is a faggot when Soichiro is x1000 worse
I dunno, Arima is a straight up rapist.

Wait, did the anime end differently to the manga? I've only read the latter, and I surely didn't find the ending bad.

>reading the manga
You fucked up massively

Daily reminder that in the manga Arima has an edgelord brood crisis and rapes Yukino at school/spoiler]getting her preggersshe doesn't mind though

The final episode is set during the chapter in which Tonami kisses Tsubaki and a male and female voice comment on the feelings of the characters. The episode ends with Tonami realizing that he didn't hate but always loved Tsubaki.

I liked it, with that final catchphrase mirroring the Yukino X Arima relation, only with those two characters now.

the teeth girl

To fall in love with their daughter half his age.

>Daily
Is it really daily though?

...

Yes. Thank you. It appeared super deep to me as a kid, and stuck with me so much that I always think about love when hearing the polovetsian dances.

don't post doujins that'll never be translated, user.

Dude, the manga is generic as fuck shoujo with way too much drama and shallow characters.

What Anno did was transform this petty idea into a superb story about self definition. The whole point is about discovering oneself and finding your niche in the world, while developing friendships, love, and life skills.

The comedy is top tier while always conserving enough seriousness to evoke emotions and nostalgia. And even the later eps where they stop giving a fuck are great.

It's a pitty we'll never get anythign clcose to a 2nd season, specially because reading the manga to know the rest of the story is just not on the same level.

And then everybody gets pregnatn before age 20 and it's just sad.

>And then everybody gets pregnatn before age 20 and it's just sad.
I just don't understand the shoujo demographic at all.

Watching Karekano is like watching a great artist that is completely fucked up on drugs.

You know he's greatly talented, but on his current state he cannot do well. Still, his work at 20% of his true ability is greater than most of the shit out there.

the teeth girl

It's an amazing anime despite the production issues. It's more of the mangaka's fault than Anno's fault.

The main guy was kinda of an edgelord, but the background characters were pretty cool.

My favorite are the short girl that falls in love with her new step brother. The sisters of the main girl were pretty cool too. And the dude that literally helps raise his best friends daughter just so he can fuck her is one of the most sensible characters in the series.

>I will marry your unborn daughter in 16 years

>My favorite are the short girl that falls in love with her new step brother.
It was never explored in the anime, was it?

We got the beginning, but not the rest.

...

...

Arima is a rapist

so we can all agree this was the best episode right?

It seems I have forgotten much of the shitfest that was the manga.
Just constantly the same crap about Arima's dark side is all I remember.

the signs were always there!

What happens?

They certainly were. And then the manga repeated that same plotline over and over again.
Maybe I am exaggerating and it wasn't actually that bad, though.

episode 19 was the only time anno made something good

They meet, she gets to know him and get over whatever drama there is, and starts to crush on him.

I think Shinji would be a lot less depressive if he had a cute girlfriend, a homo bro that doesn't lose his head and loving adoptive parents. Meanwhile Soichiro would start the third impact on the first episode, his darkness would find the way to make it happen without Adam's embryo

Should I watch the entire thing or stop when Anno leaves?

Post sex scene pls

just pretend the anno finale is the final ep and walk out of the theater happy and satisfied

I'm pretty sure girls don't understand the harem demographic

No, because the rest is just as good.

It was impossible to tell the girls apart in many panels in the manga.

So there's no conclusion to the crush?

No, but it's not abrupt or anything.

At least, as far as I remember.

What was the deal with the second to the last episode? The one where the MC's sister feels like she's being followed. I liked it but what was with the sudden change in tone and animation?

youtube.com/watch?v=Ng8BclGticw
Was this better then Fly me to the moon?

Anno never left, he used a different name.

They knew the direction that the production of the show was heading in and did what they wanted with the rest of the episodes.

Watch it all. The last eps are different, but good nonetheless.

Though be aware, there is 0 conclusion to anything, so be prepared to get blueballed hard.

Pregnancy and the blond friend hooking up with their daughter as bullish.

maybe

yes

Just read the manga.

Well technically there was a "conclusion" with Arima and Yukino.

> there will literally never be a good romance anime for adults

Feels bad man.

Did the mangaka had a pedo fetish?
Also, too bad never did anything relevant after it.

I feel like the mangaka definitely had some sort of complex. She was just catering to her shoujo audience, which apparently likes older men.

Man, the earlier 2000's were weird.

Is this your first shoujo? Pairing older men with underage girls is very common on shoujo, even if that man raise her. Even the dynamic between the heroine and the male lead has a pedo vibe with the heroine being so helpless and weak in front of the male lead who happen to look like a guy on his mids 20s

No. Not this.
Watch the anime, it's tons better than the source material.

You are kidding, right?

I really like Toradora because it shows quite well how friendship and companionship turns into love. And it also has a realistic understanding of teenagers and their issues.

KareKano started great, but all those literally forced teen pregnancies are not my thing.

He's not

No, I watched it long ago, while it was still being published and I was in middle school.
It seems that since then the mainstream shoujo magazines are being more careful about not endorsing pedophilia. Just look at the reticent shoujo hits like Kimi ni Todoke an Ao Haru Raido.
It was more lax in the past, thank God it got better.
