Akira is shit. It features some of the ugliest character designs of all time and there is barely any shading. None of the girls are even cute. And let's not forget the retarded story.
>edgy kid gets powers for literally no reason and becomes evil
What a masterpiece.

>implying Sup Forums wouldn't do the exact same thing

what a nuanced take

Hmm I'll have to rethink my opinion after reading this

I just rewatched it after seeing OPs post and totally agree with him.

Damn... I think you might be right...

>None of the girls are even cute.

Holy shit, I never even thought of it like that. In hindsight you're definitely correct.

You are right. I am a better person for reading your post.

...

You are right user, you have truly opened my eyes. I never thought of it like this before.

...

at last I truly see

makes sense

> It features some of the ugliest character designs of all time
Bait and subjective.

> there is barely any shading
Bait. Akira has some of the best environment designs of all time.

> None of the girls are even cute.
Bait because a film's quality is dependent on how cute the girls are?

> And let's not forget the retarded story.
Yeah, that's true.

> edgy kid gets powers for literally no reason and becomes evil. What a masterpiece.
If we reduce everything to its base level, nothing is a masterpiece. Ex Hamlet:
> edgy kid kills his uncle for literally no reason and destroys Denmark

Thanks for playing, don't expect me to respond.

You can tell this guy's enlightened by how he watched the entire movie in seven minutes.

OP has opened some eyes today.

Edgy kid is the problem. Why kid?
Why not edgy manchild?

Is this a shade babies thread

>because a film's quality is dependent on how cute the girls are?
That's correct Reddit. Superior works of the same era include Bubblegum Crisis, Dirty Pair, and anything by Masamune Shirow.

Akira is the best animated feature to come out of nippon the culmination of all of the 80s development of anime into detail porn and the booming economy.

I've never liked it as a film though.

wait, he gets powers? I dropped it like 10 mins in. such a shitty show.

>It features some of the ugliest character designs of all time
>None of the girls are even cute
Kaiji is my favorite anime tho

i laughed

I want to destroy Denmark.

do Sup Forums realise Akira literally make pathways for dynamics animation, back in 80s/90s anime was rigid and seem statics due to only few object in the animation is actually moving. (moving mouth, etc, static background people). in Akira, people notice the direction of the anime more fluid and dynamics, it hinted the industry to give effort in dynamic animation.
Bottom line, thanks Akira laying foundation to modern animations you gets jiggling boobs and flipped skirts.

Is Akira really all that? Was Japanese animation so shit like what you're saying?

1/10, made me reply.

No. He's a fucking retard. It did do cool shit with parallax backgrounds and stuff though.

Akira is kind of trendsetter or landmark anime, im not saying 80s/90s anime/animation was bad. my fave anime back then anime is Yu Yu Hakusho. Sup Forums should appreciate animation back then thanks to visual direction taking shapes in the past.

your point?

What the fuck do you mean "your point" you dense cunt?

>posts shitty anime
opinion invalid.

>It features some of the ugliest character designs of all time

The 2017 baki anime is going to give you a stroke.

>None of the girls are even cute.
Oh THAT's all you care about.
Yes. CLEARLY my opinion should perfectly align with Sup Forums's 100%.

>using wikipedia
Retard. Anime was and still is a industry based around cutting corners.

I agree. story makes no sense since it had a lot cut. I don't need lots of cute girls but I expected kei to be at least as cute as kaori or something, I mean you have a biker giving up his 3 sluts and a comfy life to go hang with some boyish revolutionary that does not give him the time of day

Yea, that's why this movie is overrated.

Thanks for letting me know, now I don't have to watch it.

Akira set the stage for modern forced animation

Damn, OP, you got a point...

Damn OP your're 100% right I'll continue watching more quality animes with top notch animation and super detailed art style with very in depth story

Seriously man consider me /woke/ now

Damn, I've been watching anime wrong this whole time. Thank god OP is here to enlighten me.

Read the comic.
