What got me into anime and soon Sup Forums, I only wanted to watch Kuro make out with the other loli's

...

It was Kill la Kill that got me back into anime after I lost interest as a high schooler

It triggers me to no end that Tokyopop used different art for volume 1 of Love Hina, but the correct covers for all the rest.

The first two OVA series of Tenchi were what sold me on the medium. Any series with a kind of sandbox setting with lots of lore can hook me pretty easily. UC Gundam, Type Moon and Raildex being other examples.

lucky star and death note

The trainwreck itself

So the last few days have been pretty magical

Tokyo Ghoul. I want a complete remake.

Why he looks like a gigantic faggot?

same

You posted it. Literally that exact manga volume when I was around 12, and I distinctly remember being in barnes and nobles with my dick going diamond over the girls, especially Naru. Still a stage 4 terminal tsunderefag 10+ years later, thanks Japan.

Ichigo 100%
I was a horny middle schooler and I clicked it because it had an ecchi tag on Onemanga
I reread it a few years ago, and I still think rather highly of it.

t. faggot

I read it for the first time at the age of 23, pretty good.

Recently rewatched Death Note which was my gateway anime, now I'm sure that anyone who doesn't think it's great is a fucking cunt.

it's a blatant rec thread

A rec thread for entrylevel shit?

The Eva manga was the first time I became aware of anime and manga as something distinct from Western comics and cartoons. I have like 14 and picked up the first 4 volumes at a public library one bored summer.

As you might imagine, it blew my teenage mind sky high.

All of Akamatsu's stuff, barring Negima, were pretty much my gateway manga.

Love hina was my gateway. Good times

do you think normalfags wouldn't request entry level anime? just look at the thread; it's hideous.

Death Note is pretty great in terms of music and animation, but it gets worse every time you rewatch it

The start of everything was the first FMA series. After that I've watched and read a bunch of shit non-stop.
One day I started to read Pandora Hearts. That was the moment I realized there's no way back for me anymore.

Well it was my 2nd time watching it and I watched way back in highschool for the first time so I thought that it must have appealed to my edgy teenage self somewhat but the first 25 episodes are absolutely amazing, really loved it.

That's too tame for you to lose your way, I realized there's no way back just a month ago when I watched Yosuga no Sora and liked it, before that I still considered my self a respectable individual.

my brother introduced me to love hina and a lot of the ecchi stuff flew over my head at the time
I read it through fully a couple years ago and the manga was much better than I remember the anime being but I haven't actually watched the anime in 10+years

I won't deny that it is a good show
But if you still remember the twists and overall story, there isn't really anything that hooks you in like the first time you've watched it

The only good thing Love Hina did was make me realize how shit that the harem genre is shit.

That's the thing, I didn't remember shit other than L dying.

Would you agree than that the show is significantly worse if you still have a slight idea of all the twists?

That was my first manga. Loved it to bits back then.

I don't know, maybe the forgetting thing when Light was imprisoned but most heavy plot points in the show stand on their own due to great direction and atmosphere. That just might be my opinion but I can enjoy the show's quirkness and dark humor-esque atmosphere (what with all the irony and Ryuk's entire existence) without being too concerned about the twists.

Maybe it's just me, but I could not muster up enough interest to finish again after already having watched it twice
Even with a 3 year or more, don't remember pause between tries I just couldn't get hooked on it again

Pro tip: watch it with someone who hasn't watched it yet. Watched it with a friend of mine and he was so fucking hyped it was contagious.
