Shirley had a hard life. The scene where Lelouch takes her memory is heartwrenching.

What was the point of killing her?

From a writer's perspective, this was both dramatic and efficient. Shirley being aware of Lelouch being Zero and supporting him means she'd have to join the Black Knights, but she has no applicable skills and it would just make people wonder who she is and more importantly why she's there and how Zero knows her. So killing her off meant that writing problem was out of the way.

And of course it was a very dramatic scene and it hardened Lelouch in his convictions, having lost everything now.

Also it was the main thing that led Lelouch to deciding to go after the Geass Order, convinced that Geass is evil/accursed.

Still mad until now.

Well there was a theory that if Lelouch's Geass worked, that means Shirley's heart will try to beat as fast as possible and pump her blood to her body, which lead to her bleed to death faster than usual. It means Lelouch's Geass actually worsen it rather than help her.

depends on how much she knows. If she doesnt understand how to stay alive longer she will try to squeeze her body and therefore push her blood out harder. If she has experience with being shot up she might know how to pressure her wounds. Either way she was fucked
