I've been to the USA and live in London. Most parts of the USA are quite similar to rural UK but the cities are like London on crack. Of course right to carry is a big improvement. Do you understand what a precedent is? The 'West' didn't magically appear out of thin air, it was built on the ideas that existed in ancient Greece and Rome. The Renaissance, for example, was the consequence of rediscovering Rome and Greece. One thing the Catholic church did right was to preserve that knowledge.
