There wll never be another year as good as 2007 for anime

>there wll never be another year as good as 2007 for anime
How does that make you feel?

>Kaiji, TTGL, and 5cm in the same year

fucking hell

2007 was solid but since then I've preferred 2013.

>more than half of those
>anything but mediocre
Feels fine. We've had some pretty solid years recently regardless of what people say.

2013 had Miyazaki and Takahata but TV anime was lacking.

half of those are shit, fuck claymore

>>more than half of those
>>anything but mediocre
List the 11+ ones that are mediocre, I want to have a laugh.

Yeah, I prefer Miyazaki and Takahata to every tv show in 2007 combined. Not to say 2007 was bad at all, it's great.

2014 was better

2014 was okay but not nearly on the same level.

I don't think so but it's close call at the very least.

2017 will be the year

What did 2014 have besides Shirobako?
Ping Pong I guess, and Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso if you disagree with Sup Forums. Nozaki-kun, but it's just a shallow comedy which never has great artistic value.

Shigatsu was bad, but it had Space Dandy, Mushishi, Marnie and Giovanni.

Ping Pong
Mushishi
Space Dandy
Tamako Love Story
Daisuke Jigen's Gravestone
Robot Dad Strikes Back

>shirobako
>not a shallow comedy without artistic value

Some people really are thirsty for (You)s.

Why even post?

...

Sport isn't an argument, and Ping Pong even mixes in some psychological elements you only see in masterpieces.

I agree sequels don't fully count when rating years. They have some value, but it's not a full point.

And it feels easy to dismiss movies, yeah. At least I tend to think mostly in TV anime.

If you don't care about movies, 2014 seems to be a thin year.

At least, doesn't even come close to 2007.

>sutorenjia muko hadan
>knk
>5cm
>eva
it hurts

I loved Ping Pong, it's just not as great as people make it seem to be.

Nothing's ever topped 1988.

>Les Miserables
Cool.

>even szs is in there

I didn't even love it, I base my opinions on a mix between consensus, my own opinions, and sometimes arguments I like, and the consensus for it is so strong that I consider it good, even if I didn't like it that much. Not that I dislike it, it just wasn't that special to me.
It's just that being sports doesn't make an anime bad.

Maybe.

>I base my opinions on a mix between consensus, my own opinions, and sometimes arguments I like, and the consensus for it is so strong that I consider it good, even if I didn't like it that much
Do you happen to have autism?

Where is Seto no Hanayome?

fuck of digibro . 2006 was better

Surprising to not see Hidamari Sketch in there. I know Sup Forums love it.

You could also include Bamboo Blade.

Personally I'd be tempted to include Bokurano too, but that may detract from Sup Forumss opinion on the picture, so I understand not including it.

What does this have to do with autism

2006 had some good movies, but it was bad for TV anime. Kemonozume, Haruhi and little else.

It just had some solid anime, but no masterpiece, nor anything Sup Forums massively shitposts over. Can't say it's a fond year from my point of view.

2006 is also a good year, but it's not exactly a controversial opinion that 2007 is the best year ever. People have been saying this forer, long before Digibro made his video.

Ouran High School Host Club is popular.
Code Geass
Death Note
Nana
Welcome to the NHK
Ergo Proxy
Utawarerumono
Gintama

>no masterpiece
There are several up there.

I don't consider most of those very good, especially
>Code Geass
>Death Note
>Ergo Proxy

>welcome to the nhk
>black lagoon
>code geass R1
>aria
>hellsing ultimate
>death note
>gintama
2006 was the superier year and you know it

>>black lagoon
>>code geass R1
>>death note
These aren't good in any way, shape or form. Hellsing is inferior to the manga, and NHK is inferior to both the novel AND manga.

2007 had many famous VN adaptations. Are any of them good?
>Clannad
>ef: A Tale of Memories
>Myself; Yourself
>Sola
Are any of them watchable? Can any even be considered good? Haven't seen any of them.

Just because something is inferior to the source material doesn't make it not good

I personally loved Myself; Yourself, it was also technically anime original at the time.

>the newfag wasn't there for the JIBUN WOOOOO

Not even half of those are good.

>Sup Forums memes make shit shows good!
k

Meme art astyle
More like Mushishit
lol nop
seem like shit
shit
and shit

yeah

Not a single one of those are good.

welcome to meme magic, introductory courses in Sup Forums

People should get banned for posts like this.

SamFlam

shigorui was pretty shit compared to the manga which already wasnt more than nipples and gore porn.

Thats how open minded people think. Pretty normal in the real world or outside of Sup Forums. You happen to not like something but you acknowledge its qualities despite that. If anything adults act like that and you not understanding that easy thought process makes you look like an autist.

>All that garbage anime

Nostalgia is one hell of a drug

It's a digibro thread. It's automatically bad

Dennou Coil, Seirei no Moribito and Lucky Star are good.

No, that's how retards unable to formulate an opinion think.
Being influenced by the general consensus is bad in general, but it's especially idiotic in this contest since we aren't talking about critics and scholars, but about braindead Sup Forums posters.

Is shigurui any good?

Watched the first ep with a friend years ago and we thought it was lame as fuck

There are a few mediocre ones, but if you take away a row it would be all masterpieces.
Don't pretend the shit we've been watching this year is even remotely as good.

I haven't seen enough anime to form my own opinions. And when I want to argue a year is good, it'd be stupid to exclude an anime just because I didn't like it, when a lot of people disagree, and would more easily be convinced the year was good if I include it.
For example, I tend to include Nichijou in my arguments in favour of 2011, even though I didn't really like it, I found it boring and stupid. But many people do, so including it is still appropriate.
The same with Cowboy Bebop. Everyone knows 1998 was a good year, and one of the reasons is Cowboy Bebop. (I have only seen 6 episodes, so far I don't like it) But regardless of what I think about Cowboy Bebop, it's still one of the objective reasons that 1998 was a good year.

I will not exclude anime I liked, however, even if a lot of people dislike it. I did include Bokurano, after all.

2014:
Omoide no Marnie
Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works
SpaceDandy
Witch Craft Works
Youkai Watch
No Game No Life
Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii
Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji
Baby Steps
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
PriPara
Nisekoi
Akatsuki no Yona

I like 2014 too. I don't think it has anything that can compete for Gurren Lagann, Lucky Star, Kaji, Baccano, Nodame Cantabile, Darker than Black, Kara no Kyoukai in terms of industry importance. Still a good year.

I've liked this year overall. This season is shit though.
