we're fucked

>lawful content

"net neutrality" is meme legislation being pushed by netflix, google and facebook in order to shift the bandwidth cost of their services onto the fibreoptic providers i.e. ISPs

it has nothing to do with free or open internet, it has nothing to do with censors shutting things down of throttling content, it is 100% a corporate kike scam

/thread

Does net neutrality limit our free speech?

This.

Comcast already has essentially a monopoly on the market, I don't really get what the big deal is here.

Not to mention they ironically have a better track record than google, fb, reddit when it comes to censorship which is hilariously ironic.

>we wont throttle
>we wont block
>we will be transparent
>we will increase the cost of our services
>we will favor some users over others

>Won't block lawful content
>Blocks wikileaks
>We dindu nuffin wrong, we was good goys

Do you think its wrong for me to be able to get a faster connection than you if i pay more money?

this is meant as a protest trying to show trump as being pro throttling etc.

in reality it just proves we don't need the government regulations because the free market really will handle it and already is

>illegal opinions
this is how it begins
the ussr is alive and well

>Comcast is the only evil company
>no one else is trying to take advantage of this situation

This.

If you support net neutrality, you're a fucking moron. Were they blocking your access to Sup Forums before these regulations were in place? No. Lift regulations, let companies compete, and it'll provide the best service to you.

You know comcast got sued for throttling, right?

Don’t explain freedom to he’s a commie leaf.

>lawful content
That's a pretty broad term right there. Deliberately ambiguous so they can censor what they want really.

i think its wrong for a company to price gouge when they are the only ISP available in certain areas.
Here in leafland the ISP's/Mobile providers are EXTREMELY guilty of collusion and price gouging...

>lawful content
Sup Forums confirmed kill
This site is going to die. Can't survive the massive drop in traffic when the major ISPs ban it fot being a den of anti-Semitism and hate speech

you had one job....typical burger.

OH NO! GOVERNMENT, STOP THIS PRIVATE BUSINESS FROM DOING THINGS I DON'T LIKE!

That's an antitrust issue not a regulatory issue

>We won't throttle
>We won't block
>LAWFUL CONTENT
My friend have you read the same thing as everyone else? They've just admitted that they will cap bandwidth usage for those that don't browse what they deem "lawful".

Does comcast have a "fair use policy"? If they do then they are legally protected because ISP's will do this during peak browsing hours.

>he unironically fell for the packaged internet meme

yup,that's why I don't have them
>free markets baby

Whose fault is it that there are monopolies in the first place?

The very same people you want to be in control of the internet.

Holy fuck shills fucking read this

FACT: ATT, Time Warner, Comcast, Cox are basically bankrupt unless NN gets overturned. You fucking socialist soros shills don’t fucking get it. Deregulation means they will reinvest and lower costs for consumers and invest in infrastructure while transferring costs to google/netflix.

There is a zero percent chance this will be a windfall profit and package deals for old service options will pop up.

Uhh soo...if pol is done then what?

Winner winner nigger dinner

OH PLEASE CORPORATION FUCK MY ASS HARDER DADDY!

(((Lawful content)))
Yea I've heard that bullshit before

>Republican logic

That isn't even remotely what's happening here. Sites that can afford it will move faster at the cost of slowing down sites that can't. This is a competition killer.

>whining about corporations
There are corporations on both sides, child. You either defend Google, Facebook, and Netflix or Verizon, Comcast, and AT&T. And ISPs have attempted to throttle and regulate access to content before, there is nothing suggest they wouldn't if given the chance.

this

>implying jewgle won't lobby the gov to get subsidies, effectively shifting the burden onto the taxpayer anyways.
You should know by now, the jew never pays

motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/qkvn4x/the-21-laws-states-use-to-crush-broadband-competition
That free market sure is great.

Let's be honest, we're all getting fucked up the ass no matter what happens.

Alternatively unvis.it/motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/qkvn4x/the-21-laws-states-use-to-crush-broadband-competition

Except for the fact that they got busted for throttling netflix. I totally believe them.

who exactly do you think i want to in control of the internet?

that sounds like more government regulation we should get rid of my statist friend

Who do you think is doing to lobbying?

I'd rather a law say they can't then for me to trust a giant corporation's word on it.

The Chinese restaurant down the street swears they are healthy but the CDC has shut them down more than once over not being healthy. See, the difference is standards in definitions. I don't want to go by what Comcast considers legal content. They might go and ban anything they consider hate speech, or forums where illegal content CAN appear even if those forums have rules and enforcement against it. I don't want this open to their interpretation. Moreover, I don't want them to be able to change their mind as soon as someone offers them more money to throttle or block someone.

yeah verizon, comcast, and at&t aren't trying to watch everything i do at all times
im gonna support them

ok so why do you assume the government will protect you?

>WE WON’T BLOCK

theverge.com/2017/11/22/16691794/net-neutrality-fcc-ajit-pai-comcast-block-bittorrent

Don’t explain freedoms to He’s a commie leaf.
Fixed for you leaf.

>companies don’t want to alienate their customers

Omg who would of thought???

>trusting comcast
no thanks

How mentally ill do you have to be to believe that?
Here's a fact, the government handed out grants to these companies to expand their network and increase speeds, what did they do with that grant money? They didn't do shit.

xfinity.com/support/internet/comcast-acceptable-use-policy/

If I have a problem with how a company treats me, I'll stop using their services. If you're complaining to the government about the price of you're internet, you're no better than a nigger begging for gibsmedats.

>Holy fuck Comcast can you charge me more for the internet service I used to have before please

Your speeds won’t increase dumbass, you’ll be paying into packages so you can view shit without getting throttled.

Am I the only one old enough to remember when ISPs would make it impossible to view the websites of competitors? I had to go to a fucking library to switch from ATT to TW in the 90’s because they would not let me load pages from competitors

They already do this my offering you faster data connections, 50, 100, 150 mbps ect.

As far as I'm aware, NN means all data usage is treated equally, no matter what source it is coming from.

ISP's already throttle data, or they have bandwidth caps.

Because so far the have. Is the FCC allowing them throttle p2p or make you pay more to use netflix? Nope. Now what do you think will happen if NN is repealed and those laws are still there?

Just trust the government instead!

lolbertarians should all just kill themselves

didn't these fuckers throttle netflix before the FCC rules went into effect?

The bold words form a double negative. I guess they're being honest then.

Yes, but laying the groundwork for future internet regulation is always the worse choice.

Yep. If you think the new framework won't be used to marginalize dissident opinions you are an idiot.

>They've just admitted that they will cap bandwidth usage for those that don't browse what they deem "lawful".
Wow, guess I won't use Comcast then. Problem solved.

The bandwidth cost? You're a fucking retard. Their bandwidth is only so big because users who also pay for access use that access to access Google. Bandwidth isn't some finite resource. Every company or person pays the ISP for a RATE. That's how it works right now. You don't cost the isp any more or less by using or not using that to its fill potential....unless the isp oversold their capabilities for decades and want to blame it someone else. Which they died and ignorant idiots like you buy.

Dumbfuck, the big 3 ISPs all own the backbone of the internet because we as taxpayers subsidized and paid for that shit decades ago when the selling point of ISPs was that the internet was an unregulated, open world full of endless possibilities. Nobody ever had any inkling they'd charge like cable companies or they never would have been able to gain support for it like that. They didn't just pay for all this shit on their own. We literally funded their infrastructure and crowd-sourced their content and now that it's in every home in America they want to Jew us even more.

and none of that shit was happening before it passed
if it happens now I blame the people who wrote the law for giving them the idea

there are like 1k posts per hour about this shit

I voted for Trump to spite you, I'll back this to spite you too.
I am out to get you, and one of these days I hope I will have the absolute luck to put you in a situation that leads to the most inhumane painful drawn-out death possible.

George Soros and the Ford Foundation are the largest financial donors to Obama's Net Neutrality which he instilled in 2014 and was not the status quo before then. The FCC used their inability to maintain or enforce antitrust laws as an excuse to gain power over yet another portion of the public, and by supporting it you are a traitor to this nation's citizens.

t. motherfucker that has no fucking clue what is involved in building networks and can't explain why they've been getting faster every year

>lawful

This tbqh
Lord willing the whole system gridlocks and nothing gets done. I'm just gonna sit back and hold the fuck on.

The fuck is lawful content?

Then that new one you go to will implement the same measures because those government bribes they are getting are not to expand infrastructure or enhance user experience and performance, it's all about buying your data and information and the manipulation of what you browse. You see Facebook and other sites tailor making shopping suggestions based on your web history/browsing habits. You honestly think they all won't whore you out for a few shekels from gubmint?

lel it's so obvious it's funny.

Laugh with me Australia, laugh at it all!

fake tweet

Opinions they agree with.

that used to be google's motto for like 15 years but they abandoned it and have been involved in transparently evil things and they support NN. what evil do you choose?

should mean anything that isn't actual child porn but honestly who fucking knows at this point

How many /polacks/ can even afford the inevitable $80 “alternative media package” to view Sup Forums after NN ends?

Leftist content

Oh you mean before the courts decided in 2014 the the FCC does not have the power to regulate ISPs that way? Yeah I wonder why.

>Make the internet a public utility with all citizens as equal shareholders.
>Guarntee 1st ammendment rights for bothe user and content creators.
>Win

In before 'muh socialism' fags chime in with their two cents. The internet is too important to be left in the hands of private interests

This pro-net neutrality group is no different from the pro-gun groups. Which is funny because they are supposedly completely opposites.

Both are just "THEM GOVERNMENT GONNA TAKE OUR [insert thing here]" over stuff.

No, you're not. Boomers who play solitaire and browse Facebook don't understand this concept and millenials who grew up with the open internet but only know how to load Instagram and send dick picks don't understand this. ISPs are corporations too and will Jew us out of every penny possible. I'd be fine with that but they literally got us to pay for their cables.

>Laugh with me Australia, laugh at it all!
Laugh till you cry my dear bong. Laugh till you cry...

this

Can't you see what President Trump is doing? By ending net neutrality, nobody will want to pay the ISPs any cash, opting instead to do other things besides stay on the computer all day. Everyone will start to go outside and do actual things for themselves (working out) and others (public service projects, etc).

...

Yes and the pro-gun groups have only been able to save gun rights in the USA because they though like that. Every other country though that the government taking away guns was a conspiracy.

Nobody cares, son.

how fucking dense are these reditards. don't like it, cancel your internet. ffs.

>wepromisejustthetip the tweet

>WILL YOU BLOCK TWITTER BECAUSE THEY HOST SOME UNLAWFUL STUFF??
DO THIS YOU FUCKS

This is how you ask if they'd ever decide to block Sup Forums without asking it.

Faggots denied doing it in the first place and it was so bad we had to grassroots legislation to get them to knock it off.

>we totally won't cherrypick inconvenient websites like Sup Forums and censor them goy, trust us!

Literally /ourguy/

What people don't realize is that NN is preventing them from delivering even more savings to their consumers, probably cutting your internet bill by HALF!!!1!!

Pro-NN shills can fuck off.

I guess the difference is that the NN group wants to take away rights where as the pro gun group was fighting to keeps rights.

tweet is fake

>B-BUT DA INTERNET IS A HUMAN RIGHT!

It was happening with all kinds of shit like at&t blocking Skype completely in 2009. There's examples of the major ISPs doing just this and just because some Trump appointed poo in the loo suddenly wants to not remember that doesn't make it less true.

>Lawful content
>Implying you are a legal expert
LOL SURE THING FUCKO
