They are all shit except K-On S2.

Was gonna say this.

>Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
It was fun

>Love Live! 2nd Season
Haven't even heard about it

>Osomatsu-san
Haven't even heard about it

>Nisemonogatari
No idea what's it about

>Fate/Zero
Do not care

>Shingeki no Kyojin
Dropped with a feeling of disgust

>Fate/Zero S2
Do not care

>Monogatari S2
Never watched it

>K-ON!!
Never cared enough to watch it

>Fate/stay UBW
Stahp

>Girls und Panzer
It looks like a kind of dumb moe shit

>Sword Art Online
I've heard it's retarded as hell

>Fate/stay night UBW s2
My god, how much F/sn anime is there?

>Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love Revolutions
Wut r u?

>Angel Beats!
I might have heard that it wasn't bad

>Infinite Stratos
No idea

>Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love 2000%
I don't know what r u

>Anohana
No idea

> Persona 4
I liked Diamond is Unbreakable and Devil Survival, so I guess it must be fine

>THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls
Is that another moe shit franchise?

There, my honest opinion

consider suicide as as soon as possible

For what exact reason?

The hell you doing on this board.

Discussing mah animu. No need to watch SAO or K-ON for that.

Bakemonogatari is the one on top of Madoka though.

>3. Osomatsu-san - 64,798
Wait, sales were that high?

All shit

>no actual good show on that list

i-it really makes me think

Fuck it i'm killing myself today.

Osomatsu-san had the fujoshi and the general otaku crowd instead of one or the other.

I think it's more of the fact that you're kind of an uninformed newfag.

It's more like you're up to date about the shit I don't even care about anymore

>he haven't even watched half of that

Why do you think your opinion is valid?

Newfag piece of garbage. You have to go back

Coz I'm watching mah animu for quite a long time.

More like you're a proficient shit-consumer

Some bitter nostalgiafag

Madoka will deservedly be known as this decade's masterpiece.

>coz
>mah
>for quite a long time.
I doubt it, considering you've "never heard" about LL

give some recommendation senpai

Almost all of them are bad.
And I wish Kyoani had more representation.

Madoka is okay and K-on is a masterpiece.

Didn't Osomatsu sold more than that?

K-On!! is a classic masterpiece that will stand the test of time, unlike Haruhi.

71k units is a lot? That's child's play

Madoka and LL 100% deserved it.

It's the average, not total amount

Only first volume thanks to tickets. LL first volume sold even more also thanks to tickets.

So? My love for animu about millions of cute girls ended after a few seasons of SZS, Azumanga, and half a season of Lucky Star. Are you blaming me for not remembering every moe-title?

Ajin. It is fun even in 3d.

By late 2012 Madoka made over 400 million $ in merchandise alone.

Disc sales are insignificant.

>Madoka
>Love Live
>Monogatari series
>K-ON
>Fate Series
Saving the anime

>two mecha shows on the list
>one is about tanks other about mecha-musume

Dead genre is dead.

I want to make an anime based on what sells, so elements from the top 10:
>1. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - 71,061
Deconstruction
>2. Love Live! 2nd Season - 67,341
Idol
>3. Osomatsu-san - 64,798
Old franchise revival
>4. Nisemonogatari - 60,719
Powerpoint presentation
>5. Fate/Zero - 52,285
Urobuchi
>6. Shingeki no Kyojin - 52,078
Gore
>7. Fate/Zero S2 - 46,344
More Urobuchi
>8. Monogatari S2 - 42,206
More powerpoint presentation
>9. K-ON!! - 39,519
Cute girls
>10. Fate/stay UBW - 39,283
Chuunishit

So a deconstruction of idol anime using an old franchise with powerpoint slides directed by Urobuchi with gore, cute girls and chuunishit.

It's japanese South Park that also appealed to fujos.

Nisemonogatari was the highest selling monogatari??? what the fuck

LL is hardly about idols. They are more like a school club.

im@s is the idols anime.

But no show has surpassed Eva or Gundam SEED in sales till this day.

bakemono wasn't from this decade

No, Bake was.

Sales have been going down since then, because obviously they would. That's how it works.

That was decades ago when there were few times less anime airing every season.

Competition is 10x harder today.

Same reason why no movie will ever beat Gone With The Wind box office.

From what Urobuchi said, if he did idols it will turn out a lot like Showgirls.
I don't think the world is ready for that just yet.

>Aoi Yuuki had the main heroine role in the most significant Anime of this last decade
Truly a modern day Hayashibara.

The funny thing is she was miscast as Madoka. She's much better as evil crazy girls.

Bitch, don't tell me what to do

>The two highest selling series (adding the sales of the seasons) are written by the same guy.
Now I understand how everyone wants to hire Urobuchi, which makes it even more funny how he wandered off producing puppet shows.

Both LL and im@s portrayal of idol culture is highly inaccurate. WUG does a better job in that regard.

>What are you thoughts on top 20 best selling TV anime of this decade?

As long no fujoshit show beats Madoka and Love Live, I am happy

Perfect Blue already exists, I don't think people will mind idols not being idealized in anime.

Well he's doing the upcoming Godzilla anime.

Truly the Hideaki Anno of this generation.

>The funny thing is she was miscast as Madoka. She's much better as evil crazy girls.

And tomboys

She and Chiwa did an excellent job with their roles. Episode 10 being the shining example.
But yes, Aoi favorite roles to play are either straight-up heroes like Hibiki or Hime or bad guys. She isn't crazy about voicing heroines.

The japs won't go for it. Good luck selling sell merch of impure waifus.
Also Kon's stuff are really not that popular in nipland.

LL is not even trying to portray "idol culture". They don't work in idol industry at all or deal with typical idol fans.

Where is Yuri on Ice?

Part 1

>Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
Dark magical girl anime. Unfortunately most of the value in watching the show is based off the shock factor at the start. The plot has many inconsistencies and the characters can't be judged when they have very little decisions that they can make of free will. Let's not even get started about the movie. Overall still an above average series. 6/10

>Love Live! 2nd Season
Just an idol show. If you think it's better than idolm@sters you're delusional. Just waifu pandering in boring setting. 3/10

>Osomatsu-san
Decent comedy. It does rely heavily on slapstick and referential humor though. Pretty well animated and voice acted. 7/10

>Nisemonogatari
Part of the monogatari series. Has the two sister arcs. These arcs have the least plot depth and meaningful themes. Mostly just incestual undertones. That said the two stories are better than what most anime can come up with in 24 episodes. 5/10

>Fate/Zero
A death tournament style anime where there is surprisingly not that much action. There is a lot of talking and exposition in this anime, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It allows fleshing of characters and their motives. However sometimes it doesn't make sense for the characters to blabber about everything, especially when they are in combat. So despite the fact that the plot has a lot of substance, the delivery wasn't well-executed. Animation and music were excellent. 7/10

>Shingeki no Kyojin
Just a shounen with erratic pacing. It extensively uses shock effect by brutally murdering many of the characters. Most of the characters aren't really seen much by the viewer and are pretty negligible. Protagonist has bullshit plot armor that gives him an OP power that noone else has. It looks nice and it is fun but there's a lot of gimmicks involved to make a mediocre story seem more tense than it actually is. 5/10

>Fate/Zero S2
Same thing as 1st season.

But isn't that the appeal of Madoka Magica?
People expected magical girls to be cute and innocent but ends up in moral quandaries.
Idols can be mostly the same starting with showing how they do their jobs and how they like being in the spotlight then they start being bitches with their fellow idols and sucking cocks for better roles.

I had no idea Love Live was so popular in Japan.
Really makes you think...

>I had no idea Love Live was so popular in Japan
Tell me this is bait.

>19. Persona 4 - 31,280
Ok

>20. THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls - 30,329

I'm ok with it. Some anime I really like and some anime I didn't like or didn't care about, and that's fine.

>1. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - 71,061
Shock value

It's literally one of the most popular things ever.

BD sales are just tip of an iceberg. They are drowning in $ from merch and game.

Not even a single good show on the list. Sasuga Japan.

Part 2

>Monogatari S2
Best season of the franchise. It has a lot of emotional moments that it helps build up with interactions between established characters. In addition a lot of the characters are finally forced to face the consequences of reality. Great production value like the rest of the series and good rewatch value. 8/10

>K-ON!!
Cute girls pretending to practice music. Nothing really happens. Just moe girls talking in school. Fucking boring and basically impossible to marathon. But it's nice to watch adorable girls every now and then. 5/10

>Fate/stay UBW
Shitty high school route of the fate series. Very well animated and cool fight scenes. That's the series is good for though. There's constant infodumps and explaining through talking rather than showing. There's a bunch of characters that are there for no reason. Why introduce characters that do nothing? It's pretty standard autistic shounen material. 4/10

>Girls und Panzer
Cute girls in cute tanks. Some nice references for WW2 nerds. 6/10

>Sword Art Online
Shitty empowerment fantasy light novel adaptation. Uses the cliche "trapped in a magical world" scenario where obviously our edgy beta cuck MC is a special snowflake. While everyone is busy grinding and pq'ing, this MC is building his harem and yet when it comes the time to fight he's the strongest character in the game. Brilliant. Promoting lazy work ethic. Other than the premise there is nothing good regarding the story. Clean animation and great soundtrack though. 3/10

>Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love Revolutions
Fujoshi pandering. Even more cliche than shoujo anime. Nothing good about this series. 2/10

>6. Shingeki no Kyojin - 52,078
>Gore

No. Fujoshi bought the anime. Normalfags were attracted by violence and cliffhangers but they didn't buy the BD

>no one will beat the gone with the wind box office
What

>SnK fanbase is 10% women of 40 and older
>Love Live fanbase is mostly underage

Amusing.

>Angel Beats!
That's a bit surprising. You'd think it'd be Clannad, if anything. Angel Beats is known for its short runtime messing with the story. Come to think of it, you see it talked about a lot, and it got a recent re-release for the game.

It's 50/50

Clannad wasn't this decade.

This

Shitty melodrama sells to people who didn't grow up watching soap operas.

People talk about Angel Beats and Anohana as if they were masterpieces, they're pretty common as normalfag recommendations.

I bet those >60yo are all from Miyasaki

GuP is the only clever show among these.

>Anohana
God I hate Japan.

Based Nihon Bad taste.

That's precisely why WUG is dead.

Well, under racks and under tables anyways.

I think Osomatsu-san is pretty clever as well.

Out of every show in the list the only shows I can remember vividly is Osomatsu-san, Girls Und Panzer and Anohana.

Osomatsu-san for the comedy and that maginficent penultimate episode.
Girls Und Panzer for all that passion for tanks that actually shows, even for people who are not tank otaku.
Anohana for the moment I cringed so hard I dropped the show and hated it since(the fireworks scene where they all start crying).

WUG isn't realistic at all, it's cringe as fuck.

iM@S had a better scope of the seedy underbelly of the music industry.

>3. Osomatsu-san - 64,798

>tfw Fate/zero is the only one worthy on the list

It's not.

I've watched 14 of these shows. I liked 6 or those enough to rewatch them. I hated 2 of them that I can't believe I finished. The rest were alright.

>Angel Beats!
It's a cool concept though it is a copy of an earlier anime. The main characters are pretty dull and seem like bootleg versions of extremely popular anime characters. I'm not talking using the same archetype. I'm talking about similar development, similar interactions, etc. Supporting cast is not well fleshed out so it's hard to care about them when they "die." The slapstick humor is executed pretty well but it's pretty jarring when it's followed up by emotional moments. 5/10

>Infinite Stratos
Pandering harem anime. Just waifu wars with mechas. If you ever plan on watching this terrible anime, I highly recommend the dub. The accents that the VA's use are hilarious. 3/10

>Anohana
Tearjerker anime. Heavy melodrama and overreacting high schoolers. The story is very simplistic but the character interactions are nice although the character archetypes are just cliches. The pacing and execution of a simple premise helps deliver emotional moments throughout the series. 6/10

>Persona 4
High quality production value. Well executed mysteries. Likable and unique personalities that aren't just defined by their hair color. Fast pacing, lots of attention to detail and overall very exciting. One of the most fun anime I've watched. Solid adaptation as well. 8/10

> THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls
Just another idol waifu show. If you think this is better than Love Live then you are also deluding yourself.

Nearly all of that is the Butcher's Madoka.

>19. Persona 4 - 31,280
I am honestly suprised this one made it onto the list, it is very fun if you played the game, but I would have thought that people who didn't play the game would hate it.

15. Angel Beats! - 34,107
18. Anohana - 31,818

I understand Fate, Monogatari, Idol shit, even Persona has a huge following, but those are shit series. Angel Beats at least had good music, Anohana was just crap.

WUG doesn't know shit about idols. AKB0048 is more accurate other than the space battles.

>She and Chiwa did an excellent job with their roles. Episode 10 being the shining example
No you're just a retarded fanboy

>lots of attention to detail

You're going to have to be more specific.

Is this the average sales by each volume?

>1. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - 71,061
Nice trainwreck

>20. THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls - 30,329
Overrated Idolshit, at least LL is better.

they bought it with the game as a bonus

It makes sense if you consider the general late-night anime crowd never watched a melodrama soap in their lives.

It's like those people who never read a book in their life and picked up some random "new york times bestseller" and think it's the greatest thing ever.

yes

You got the game for free if you bought the blu-ray or something?

Angel Beats-because of Key
Anohana-no idea

>20. THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls - 30,329
Please stop posting what only was bought for its exclusive in-game material, idiot.

No you buy both. Anime is only extra collection you buy with the game as a bonus. Diehard fans wanted to check out the animated series.
