According to my calculations, based on "virtually overnight" being 8 hours.
Every single second, there would have to be an average of 17.36 posts.
Understanding that Sup Forums, per say, has about 1.5 million unique visitors per month and 66 different boards (and that Sup Forums is fairly popular), we will say that pol receives 50,000 visitors per month & thus, about 1,700 visitors per day.
Each second about 1% of the Sup Forums population simultaneously posts.
