ITT: Character assassinations

Post characters who used to be good and liked, but at some point became awful.

The whole of Bleach really

Tenga from Kiznaiver.

...

I don't think the author couldn't handle the story. The manga went shit after the war in Magnostadt

Shounenfags once again showing their stupidity on Sup Forums

It was still good after Hogwarts. The Kou ending is where it really became shit.

Never even finished season 1 of Magi, let alone season 2 or le Sinbad Netflix show.

Actually that. Tbqh, the shouldn't have made Alibaba as the protagonist. He has a lot to say but does no actual shit to make his ideal fulfilled

The Alibaba chapters have been the only good part of this arc.

I thought Aladdin was the protagonist

Who the fuck is the guy on the bottom right?

Sinbad was better when left as the mysterious hot guy who has been on a lot of adventures.

>hot guy
Faggot

Except he'd been foreshadowed as the big bad since the Sindria arc, you retard. Do you people not read?

Keigo, he's part of the human friend trio with Tatsuki and Mizuiro.

Not that guy, but while that is true, I'm very disappointed with the end result of all that progress and foreshadowing. Ohtaka could have done so much with it, back before the Kou war when Alibaba was still a Sindria ally, Sinbad made me question where the line should be drawn on how far one is willing to go for the sake of his ideals. The methods may be questionable, immoral or downright deplorable, but is it justified if it achieves what you believe is the greater good? As far as Shounen goes, Sinbad was a fairly nuanced character.

The build up was fantastic, but the author delivered the payoff in the worst way imaginable: it was nothing but greed all along. There is no greater good; this entire thing was revealed to be nothing more than an extremely petty man's excuse to go on an ego trip. He never cared about his comrades, they were only ever pawns to play with, and now he's brainwashing everyone to think exactly the way he does like he's some petulant child who hates not getting his own way. This renders everything he said to Aladdin in the flashback completely meaningless, it was all hot air. Awful, awful direction on something that had tons of potential to be great.

Not really sure where you're drawing your conclusions from, certainly not the manga itself.

Of course it was from the manga. That's exactly what happened.

Sinbad was flawed from the very beginning, the Sinbad manga even further cements all the fucked up shit he had to deal with and how it affected him. And once he decided to become a God he passed the moral event horizon, as they say absolute power corrupts absolutely. Calling it character assassination is ignoring the entirety of his character arc leading up to his becoming a God.

>Was a brutal narcissist with a good mask
>Keeps being a brutal narcissist
>Is still a brutal narcissist

If anything he's stayed true to form

>Used to be a bit of a goofball who had the heart in the right place but was a downright genius when it came to fighting
>Became a literal retard who can barely count, most likely doesn't know how sex works and puts literally the entire universe in danger because he wants to fight someone strong

He is but selfinsertfags could do their stick

>Not knowing what words mean
>Use them anyway

...

>Calling it character assassination is ignoring the entirety of his character arc leading up to his becoming a God.

So throwing his character out the window is ok?

Alibaba's best moment was transforming Amon into the flame sword.

That was years ago.

No, it wasn't. But if that's what you think then fine.

This arc has still been dogshit ever since the focus shifted from him to Aladdin and then Sinbad.

...

Shit man. This chick went from best to NTR bait in no time.

I find it amazing how he doesn't know how sex works. Among many other shitty things.

Are you retarded? Ohtaka didn't fuck up Sinbad, your idealizing a character who was always destined to become the antagonist and had been foreshadowed as such every step of the way.

Everyone knew he was going to be an antagonist at some point, what people have a problem with is how he got there. His characterisation that's been established and expanded upon for years should not have been diminished just by virtue of being an antagonist.

Again, are you retarded? Sinbad didn't change, he just became too powerful for his own good, or did you assume that himobtaining the power of God would be a good thing? How dense can you possibly be?

I think I got one.

"no"

You have clearly never read Sinbad no Bouken nor did you pay attention to Magi.

Even then how was his character assassinated? Sinbad is not the typical god complex villain, in fact just like every other character in Magi his actions can both be considered right and wrong.

But the most important thing is that Sinbad accepts he is just a greedy human being, which is something you never see in 99% of the manga that deal with this(in fact I have never seen in but maybe there's another example), in other manga they're always about ideals and fixing the world or whatever while Sinbad knows what he's doing but he's doing it because he's human.

I think it was just some comedian that became absorbed with his fame and tried to cast off his previous self

Stop getting so triggered by the fact that your favourite character has gone to shit. Fact is, Ohtaka threw this guy to the wolves and turned him into a generic, boring final boss to make it easier to hate him. It worked, he's a worthless piece of shit.

Wow way to address my points and resort to ad hoc instead of defending your argument, sure showed me.

I've addressed them over and over in multiple posts and you chose to ignore them and keep repeating yourself.

Which is why you keep making this topic despite being proven wrong every time, end yourself.

lmao I never made this thread, you fucking retard. Jesus Christ, you're insecure if that's how you process more than one person disliking your favourite character.

I would agree but a lot of them were stupid and annoying from the start

>lmao
Just throw the whole fishing rod in

>Avoids the point of the post
Your stupidity got found out and you know it.

No (You)

>Trying this hard
