The land strip wasn't theirs at that point, no matter how much they/you want to bitch about Prussian history and WWI. Also it isn't like the Germans weren't allowed to make other territorial grabs, they did it with Austria and Sudetenland and the Brits were understandably worried that Germany had expansionist ambitions, invading Poland completely proved it.

Hitler demanded only a portion of the territory stolen from Germany after WWI. Poland was blocking even food shipments in August 1939. Danzig had an NSDAP majority government six consecutive years before the war.

Communists in Poland were killing the german minority, if he didn't invade, they would have killed more, I don't hold the Polish people responsible for that, the Jewish communists however are to blame. Same goes with the Russkies, they aren't at a fault, their Communist leaders were.

If there was no holohoax, he allowed the Brits to retreat at Dunkirk, made a whole bunch of bad decisions leading to the defeat of the 3rd Reich, and fucked off to Argentina, it's possible he was /theirgoy/ all along. The real answer is only one of two invading countries was seen as a threat to British control over Europe. They thought Hitler was the new Napoleon. Invading Poland was just a convenient excuse for protectecting the empire.

I don't know much about the history of the situation you're describing, but I'm just going to guess that a country which almost lost its independence to communists and was pretty authoritarian under Pilsudski probably didn't allow communists to operate or act that freely.
