Media define our expectations about how men and woman truly are.
Resistance against this media-induced normative setting of expectations is futile, because we are all, since childhood,
programmed in terms of thinking and feeling of what is real and what is average by the media.

It follows:

Real women fulfill the expectations of the men: Young women are indeed as attractive as the media made men expect.

2)
Real men, however, are, compared with the standards and ideals set by media into women's minds, pathetically unattractive,
a complete disappointment for women, because no multimillionaire professors with Adonis-like bodies who secretly save the world
during night and have sex with the most beautiful women exist at all.

It follows:

Women completely meet the medially programmed expectations of men.
Men completely disappoint the medially programmed expectations of women.

Men, too, notice that they cannot meet the media-set expectations, and feel miserable and develop low self esteem and shyness,
become socially avoidant to avoid being shamed for revealing how comparably inferior (to the media-set standards) they really are and flee into video games, drugs and other forms of reality avoidance.

It follows:
Both men and women feel that men are disgusting andinferior (compared to expectations set by media), while women are attractive and valuable (compared to the expectations set by media)

Therefore, then:
Men become depressive and avoid social contact.
Attractive young women wonder where are the attractive men are and feel betrayed because they find none, because while
"sex goddesses" really exist, supermen do not exist.

Societal effects:
Women delay relationships and marriage and childbirth, in the hopes of finding superman.
But superman is a media-induced illusion that does not exist, therefore women delay forever, then men and women die out childless.

It's the media image of utopian men (which actually IS sexist towards men, because NO man can qualify) destroys men, women,
and society.

Super girls exist; super men do not.
As long as we program girls and women with illusions about the kind of men they can expect, we will keep destroying relationships, people and society.

Listening to what "women" "want" is the problem - media are creating the expectations of the both sexes that are twisted versions of what they really want and need, not letting men be men and women be women - men become isolated and depressed and women become crazed and desperate.

Just because you have incredibly low standards doesn't mean every man on Earth has them too. Your whole 'argument' is based on the premise that physical attractiveness is the only criteria that must be satisfied by women, which is false for almost all humans and cultures.
Since the Western gynocentric society guarantees the success of women at life, they simply follow the path of least effort as any rational being would. Even though not all men meet the standards for women, many of them do. Unfortunately, there is a gross disproportion of 'good women' vs 'good men', which is why men become depressed. I agree with you OP but don't go saying how women aren't affected by the constant portrayals of sexy women in the media too. Every time I go to visit my parents my younger sister is absolutely caked in make-up and wearing designer clothes because she is programmed by the media to need to look perfect all the time. She spends 2-3 hours a day getting ready to look good even if shes sitting around at home

The media makes unrealistic portrayals of absolutely everything, every gender and every race is distorted in some way that is opposite of reality or complete exaggerations of certain traits. The whole thing is cancer whether a man or woman is watching it.
