Why is KyoAni so successful?

I think them trying to move more towards movie production is probably going to end up doing them well in the long run. Even more and more it now seems like there are only one or two shows a season that can do really well out of disc sales. It seems like SHAFT might be attempting to get in on that action and move towards film production too with their newly announced film. Maybe a good survival strategy if we continue to see disc sales faltering before streaming can pick up the slack.

They do SoL well but also do flashy, eccentric styles well
SoL is a super safe market but they stand out in being able to make lots of memorable moments and interesting animation decisions to spruce them up

because moe, mostly. Also a dedicated fan base and not taking too many risks (if not any)

It'd be nice if they didn't use chromatic aberation. It's literally painful to watch nowadays.

satanic dark magic

They are literally better and more talented at making anime than any other studio.

They are moe

Comfy
Nothing too profound or controversial and that's okay
Just comfy

Is Hibike even popular in nipland?

Moe culture

...

Relatively, I mean for a late night anime.

Haruhi
Lucky Star
Clannad
K-On!
Chunibyo
Much, much more.

They adapt good material and do it right. More than half of their shows are "must watches" or even considered to be "classics" of the recent years. All of their shows have this unique charm to them where you know you're watching a KyoAni show, similar to Shaft or Trigger in that sense. That charm is really likable by a majority of anime fans. Just a guess though.

Answered this assuming you mean with shows and not financially.

Here's a video I recall watching in the past few months. I don't remember much about it but I know it focuses on the topic.

Lowest common denominator.

>Clannad、Chunibyo
>Good material

He sounds like an oversimplifying autistic fuck.

>adapt good material
>do it right

>he didn't like Autism girls meet real world

To be fair I can see someone not getting it if they somehow never went through and never knew someone who went through a chuuni phase
Or someone rejecting it because they do want to forget and reject that phase in their own memories

No it's not about not getting it, it just isn't good.

>Haruhi
>Lucky Star
>Clannad
>K-On!
>Chunibyo
>good material

There's a lot of animosity towards them because they practically reinvented moe and then dominated the market so much that other people imitated them ad nauseum
I got out of anime for a good year in there because literally every fucking thing was 'moe, slice of life, parody' for a good few seasons

>literally every fucking thing was 'moe, slice of life, parody' for a good few seasons
Bullshit. Never has been the case never will. Probably what you mean is the stuff people were discussing and was popular on Sup Forums was that kind of anime. There is almost always something creatively interesting every season.

Alright hot shot, what is it this season then?

Other studio are just that bad. KyoAni do things like following common sense and got praised for it because apparently common sense is not very common.

Flip Flappers.

They do good quality productions and usually nice lighthearted anime that is enjoyable to watch and hard to go wrong.

N A T S U K I

Because they have the ability to take any piece of shit plot and turn it into gold.

Wow, I can't believe you managed to write a post that's 100% fucking wrong

Them doing their first stand-alone movie like Koe no Katachi was a huge step for them - and luckily it turned out to be a success.
I'm hoping the success leads them to doing more

Godtier art, direction and music.

Hopefully another Yamada original movie.

THey know how to pander to normalfags
