So A-tan lost last chapter, and Nagi is about to lose in the next couple of chapters, who's next? Hina? Maria?
Hata is pretty much killing off all potential pairings at this point.
Ryan Hernandez
I told you all it's going to be Forever Alone end, I told you all.
Carter Wood
If Hata has any balls, he'll bring up the question Ruka posed for him some 2-3 arcs ago, about how far he would go for Nagi, and where his own freedom began and ended.
It would be a great way to develop Hayate in this last arc.
Xavier Sanders
Re-posting.
The series will end with him ending up with nobody as he decided that now that's he's truly free, he wants to travel the world, so that he can be 「Just like the Wind (Hayate no Gotoku)」.
Benjamin Hill
That would be an interesting end, kinda like with his brother, but rather than staying in one place, he would travel around different places helping people.
Joshua Lee
>brother That was such a pointless character.
Ethan Adams
IT'S FUCKING HAPPENING
Angel Myers
Who has more chance of win the Hayatebowl and Watarubowl?
Evan Sullivan
He was cool when he saved A-tan.
Samuel Ortiz
If Hata had balls, he would've had him end up with Ruka during that arc. More seriously though, that is something that would be nice to see him bring up again. I can't even remember the last time Hayate's gotten some genuine character development.
I can see it happening, although it would piss off literally every fan of the series.
Jaxson Harris
>telling Chiharu that he was actually planning to kidnap her Oh shit he's not hiding anything.
Matthew Flores
>although it would piss off literally every fan of the series To be fair, most fans dropped this since Doujinshi Namek. Only few people still care about this.
Tyler Campbell
Everyone knows what will happen. He will shit on magisa and open a path to the castle, give her the heritage and fuck off because she won't forgive him/he doesn't think he deserves forgiveness. Probably going to end up alone.
Andrew Morales
>him end up with Ruka during that arc Ruka entered the scene way too late. Even though I like Ruka, him ending up with her would be a major mistake in light of the situation they were in.
Xavier Clark
Indeed, the difference between her and A-tan, was that the latter was introduced in volume 9, and her story with Hayate was really, really good that it put anything the other girls did with him to shame. In that regard, Athena was a game-breaker, since her story was THAT good.
Ruka, not only showed up far too late, but she also appeared after Athena and unlike her, she didn't have any established relationship with Hayate, not to mention she got introduced during a time in which Hata was trying to shift the focus back to Nagi.
Anyhow, a Nagi end can still happen, if we consider this episode as a setback, so that later on Hayate realises he did love Nagi all along (even though no such thing was ever developed throughout the story). It would be a shit end, but it can happen.
I don't see many chances for a Hina end, but a Hina end could help save Hata's career as a mangaka, since he would be handing over the win to the most popular girl.
Jacob Perez
>trying to shift the focus back to Nagi Which he then proceed to fuck up by procrastinating on that with all the random side-quests that didn't really go anywhere. I don't know the exact circumstances behind the time when he was working on the doujin arc, but re-reading them all at a go after it was all done, the doujin arc actually had a pretty solid foundation. In hindsight, I'd rather he went on a short hiatus to have time to plant things out properly, then tie things up together into one proper arc rather than have a weekly release consisting of 1 focused chapter, followed by 2-3 chapters that aren't quite gag centred and instead feels more like him trying to pad things out.
Samuel Barnes
550 chapters 550 CHAPTERS AND HE WAS CLUELESS THAT WHOLE TIME HOLY SHIT MY SIDES
Joshua Jackson
You've pretty much nailed how I feel about the direction Hata is taking this story.
An A-tan ending could have fit well in the story, but he decided for whatever reason not to go with it. A Nagi end would undo all her character development towards becoming an independent person. A Hina end wouldn't really work since he hasn't given her any role in the story for hundreds of chapters. That pretty much only leaves which works, I suppose, since this manga has never really been about romance (but goddamn would it make me angry).
I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that no matter how this series ends, I'll end up disappointed.
Connor Thompson
Here's a link to the previous thread where an user translated some of the pages
Thomas Green
>tfw people remembered my effort on dumping scans feel good man
Jordan Fisher
I didn't understand the bit that Isumi's grandmother said about Himegami getting cursed and shrinking, since he seemed to have a regular height when he showed up.
Jaxon Robinson
>tfw the last time she appeared was all the way back in golden week arc. >which was about 7 years ago
Henry Reed
>A Nagi end would undo all her character development towards becoming an independent person
No it wouldn't. Nagi already thinks they're in love and practically dating and that hasn't set her back. Why would it being real do so?
Maria and Hayate's comments about finally letting Nagi go are about taking care of her as caretakers/guardians. It wasn't in the context of any other sort of relationship.
Caleb Rivera
>see all those arguments on character developments >characters literally take years or even a decade to have some noticeable character developments >most of those "developments" are subject to shipping for most of time
seriously?
Logan Sanders
Did you just conveniently miss the point about how it was a lie and that she's going to find out. Hence the bit about the despair needed to fuel the plot device and shit.
Elijah Bailey
Eh.
Liam Miller
So the last I really paid attention to was somewhere near the end (I think) of the doujin arc, what has happened since then besides absolutely nothing?
Lucas Richardson
No because that's not relevant to the comment? user claims a Nagi end would "undo her character development." Why? Because she'd still be with Hayate? I was responding to that.
Whatever despair is triggered would obviously be solved by the point of any hypothetical [girl] end.
Nolan Collins
I for one eagerly wait for Nagi btfo, it will be cathartic for all of that plot armor shit that's been happening for most of the series.
Oh, also hoping for Ruka end, because at least she isn't an indecisive wreck like Hina.
Logan King
You are dense as fuck. Or in denial, whichever.
Elijah Campbell
yep. I CAN'T wait to see this happen. Time to shatter the bias and privilege once and for all. It is the time ti pay.
>tfw many female protagonists of many anime series still remain their roles (no replace by other more popular or viable characters) just because writers' biases.
Eli Murphy
FINALLY HAPPENING
Robert Howard
Wasn't he just a shameless tie-in to Hata's other manga?
Jose Adams
Judjing by this thread, Nagi's victory will cause another hall of anal devastation.
Hudson Rivera
>hall of anal devastation
you have a way with words user
Austin Taylor
What if Hayate is actually Shin Hylek?
And the ending is just Hayate going back in time and became Nagi's father?
Nagi's tears will be great. However, this means that Hayate is forever alone. Fitting for a harem end- all the girls move on or are shut down, and the guy is out of luck again. No one wins.
Luis Johnson
>they're finally addressing the main misunderstanding of the series. ABOUT FUCKING TIME.
Grayson Johnson
Oh my god, could MARIA END actually happen?
Kayden Evans
>It's Nagi end or bust next chapter Gentlemen, whatever may happen, it was an honor.
Oliver Roberts
Next chapter is gonna be the explosion of negative emotions to open the path to the Garden. Then, during the final battle, we'll see what does Hayate truly feel for Nagi. Why is he fighting for her.
Samuel Foster
How many years did this take? How many art style shifts? How many people that showed up for an arc or two and vanished into the ether?
I hope he doesn't do some "I actually loved her (romantically) all along!" shit. He's come to respect her and how hard she works to improve herself, and that's great. But he has yet to show any interest in her as a potential girlfriend.
We'll either get: 1. Romanchikku HayatexNagi ending 2. Status quo ending (variation: Maria quits but still drops by) 3. Hina/Hamster win (best possible end)
Jaxson Young
Rude.
Austin Long
How many years to address the main misunderstanding? I would say since Hayate started working as Nagi's butler.
Joseph Johnson
How many people had died before they resolved it?
Jordan Lewis
Ouch, off by 10
Joshua James
Oh shit, it's finally happening. For real this time. I can't wait to see how this situation will unfold and how they'll resolve the initial misunderstanding. Hayate obviously still cares about Nagi, although not in a romantic sense, but is that a bad thing? Will she manage to get over it after she learns the truth? Or will it be as we predicted and she'll be the catalyst to open the path to the RG & perhaps, even if only partially (possessed by Midas), the final boss?
Adrian Williams
I think this is gonna be the "bomb" that opens the path to the RG. About what happens to Nagi next, we don't know.
Brody Moore
If Izumi doesn't win I will kill children.
Ayden James
Back to page1
Austin Gonzalez
Holy shit the Nagifags are actually in denial. I refuse to believe you can't see the blatantly obvious way this will play out if you weren't delusional with bias.
Austin Williams
right now, talk is cheap.
John Peterson
>the flame war is coming Anons, I just need a little salt of yours.
Evan Nguyen
Nagi mind breaking when the deception is revealed to her is going to make the whole Hayate telling Hina he loved Atan in the past moment look fucking mild by comparison.
HAHA TIME FOR DESPAIR
Adrian Butler
and the best part is that some people still deny the obvious. Straw grasping is at its finest.
Evan Sullivan
It's going to be enough to open the path, isn't it?
Xavier Barnes
I think that's what people have been expecting to happen for the longest time, I do think a fair amount of us are kind of surprised how seriously Hayate is drinking in the realization in and realizing there is no amicable way everyone is going to get a happy ending, I mean I think if everyone else finds out about the kidnapping I think they'll find some way to forgive him, but not Nagi.
Which is sad because she's the happiest she's ever been lately so this is going to be a literal dagger in her heart.
Nolan Moore
That was updated in the previous thread
Someone pls add a bomb or something like that
Dominic Smith
Needs Junko or Zetsubou Sensei on it next to Himegami at this point.
Nathaniel Reyes
Have I just seen a reference to Re:Zero in this chapter?
Nathan Lopez
And you seem to lack reading comprehension. You seem to think I'm denying Nagi will despair or that I'm claiming she's going to win (judging by the denial comment). I'm not. I'm saying that if she DID, it wouldn't "undo" her development like user claimed.
Tyler Torres
where?
Caleb Martinez
>she's the happiest she's ever been lately so this is going to be a literal dagger in her heart And that's the "explosion of negative emotions" Hata was talking about.
Colton Cox
Beginning of the end.
Jaxon Gutierrez
Nagi will find out that Hayate didn't love her and her pain will be the catalyst and open the gate to the Royal Garden. Hayate will go after her and get her the inheritance. Then he'll leave and go off on his own because he feels bad for what happened.
We'll get a time skip 5 years or whatever (so Nagi is an 18 year old adult). She'll have finally tracked down Hayate, she'll confess to him for real. He'll finally admit he loves her and then Nagi and Hayate will become a couple.
I can't see any other ending.
Carson Scott
Why is Sakuya so sexual, and why did she become irrelevant in both harems?
Benjamin Price
>Just like the Wind (Hayate no Gotoku)」 man i dig this, but i really hope he gets paired with someone, was waiting 6 years for the goddamn Hayatebowl winner
Kayden Martin
>I'd rather he went on a short hiatus to have time to plant things out properly Hata went on a 2 month hiatus, but the massive amount of side quest which led to nothing made the arc waay longer than it should be
Camden Evans
It's here!
Eli Carter
isekai reference
Bentley Ortiz
It only took 12 years!
I'm honestly afraid it might not be enough to sink Nagi's ship, though. Hope I'm wrong on this one.
Owen Reed
I don't think this will sink the ship. It's a necessary step to advance with the plot.
Brandon Carter
This. They can't progress their relationship as long as neither of them realize what's actually going on.
Austin Sullivan
Eh, I'd rather see something among the lines of 'She gets turned down, plot happens, Hayate helps her get back on her feet', not necessarily in a romantic way. It would be a nice way to go with Nagi's character development leading to her being less dependent on people around her.
Grayson Rodriguez
>people still care about shipping
Is that desperation or determination?
Nathan Smith
I wonder if you guys are just trolling or if you really think that Hata is a good writer and that Nagi x Hayate won't be endgame
Austin James
A mix of both of those and a tiny dose of hope.
Joshua King
Those people who think Nagi is going to lose are idiots. Hina has no chance and A-tan is down, there's only Nagi the main girl left. Nagi is my second choice and since she's the only one left, I'm rooting for her.
Ryder Sanders
>Nagifags
Andrew Russell
>there are people right now that think that the needed "explosion of negative emotions" will break the main ship
Noah Johnson
Nagi is cute.
Isaiah Smith
>Hata as a good writer he sucks at it, dude. All those spamming (introduce unnecessary new characters and gags) and plot armors indicate his skill as a writer is at most fanficition tier. Let the truth speaks for itself.
Elijah Peterson
>Hata >good writer >the one who made a pointless filler with doujinamek
Hudson Edwards
