Bitcoin will create a global stock market crash. This will create a large enough shock in Australia to bring the housing market and the economy to its knees.
The reason bitcoin will crash the market is simply because everybody is starting to invest in it. This means people will transfer money out of traditional investments with much lower returns, into bitcoin.
No, this is the global currency collapse. Bitcoin is where money is going, but it's not the cause. Fractional reserve banking is the cause. buy silver.

lol, no.

Please use actual arguments.
People are investing in bitcoin. The higher the price goes, the more people who will invest. Everybody is now talking about bitcoin.
They do not pull this money out of thin air, they take it out of other potential investments.
There is no valid argument against this. Bitcoin WILL crash the stock market.

Ok, ill take you up on this and i got questions
The NYSE market cap in june was $21,303,718,311,097 The current market cap for BTC is $150,502,863,843
Keep in mind NYSE is just one index, there are several others in the US alone. So you really think all the money from the stock markets that represent ownership in some of the world largest and most profitable companies will flow into...bitcoin?
Do explain why please
Dylan Parker
That is the current market cap for bitcoin, and it is rising at an EXTREME rate.
The reason it will flow to bitcoin is because bitcoin is orders of magnitude more profitable. Bitcoin appears to be technically sound and provides tangible and significant benefits over traditional currency. It is creeping up on people only because they lack the technical understanding to realize this is a legitimate form of currency that can take out traditional currency.
Further, there is massive wealth inequality. This creates a vulnerability though. When the majority of the population are not wealthy, they can decide to use a different currency and literally take power away from the wealthy due to sheer numbers of people. This is a separate argument and wealthy people can buy bitcoin, but it is a general point that I am making.

Further, bitcoin is a feedback loop. Bitcoin itself becomes more valuable as more people hold bitcoin. This is a basic tenant of currency. The more people that have it, the more valuable it is.
We are now in this feedback loop. As more people buy bitcoin, they want bitcoin to succeed so they can use it.

Bitcoin won't "crash the stock market" - don't allow yourself to be so sensationalist.
At best you're going to see toe-in-the-water hedging, but nothing to the extent you are describing. Just because Bitcoin made a couple of front page articles on your two-lane media troughs here doesn't infer the sky is falling on stocks.
BTC's strength isn't in the rapid 'value' growth it has seen lately (which has attracted somewhat bullish attention among certain groups of people), it's in the underpinning technology itself irrespective of attractive returns enjoyed by those trying it out as the tech matures and gains wider attention. How this pans out in the long term remains to be seen, but it has the potential to be a game changer, though don't expect anything too drastic due to those it stands to unseat.
Charles Hall
This. It's gravitational force. BTC will suck up everything.
Parker Morales
that's what I'm doing lol been riding the bitcoin wave for 3 years and I'm cashing out into gold and silver over the course of this surge
