I just finished this show for the first time. Can we talk about it? Whose your favourite admiral? Favourite battle? Which was the best?

Also June 1st never forget ;_;7

I finished this show last week, friend.

Oberstein did nothing wrong.

Think we missed some stuff that's from the other OVAs, technically prequels meant to be between story arcs apparently. We should watch them, OP.

This I can absolutely agree with. Oberstein did absolutely nothing wrong, fuck that hothead Bittenfeld.

Get with the times OP read the much superior Fujisaki Ryu

mfw it's an Oberstein scene

will the new remake follow this manga's design?

he did wrong by dying;_;

Everyone dies sooner or later user.

He did nothing wrong.

Was it part of his keikaku* though

*Keikaku means Oberstein in Chinese

Favourite admiral
>Mittermeyer

Favourite Battle
>Marr-Adetta(to see the FPA deaththrows was a thing of beauty)

>that pic

Damn.

Favourite admiral and battle: pic related

>Favorite Admiral
Eisenach a best! A BEST!

>Favorite Battle
Everything leading up to and including Amlitzer

>Favorite ship
Hands down, the Vonkel. One of the best looking Imperial battleships in the series.

Oberstein is my nigga

...

...

implying he didnt die the same day as Reinhard just to cockblock Bittenfield to make a party to celebrate

Bucock had the best death man. Toasting democracy with your Vietnamese bro right in front of the Kaiser himself after coming out of retirement for one last final battle. What a guy.

Why is he always calling Reinhard "poop"?

I loved the Babarrossa. Almost as much as I loved its admiral.

Fuck me I couldn't get it out of my head the whole time

So who's going to win the inevitable Diadochi War after the end of the anime, Mittermeyer or Julian?

Why is Fredericka so huggable?

This faggot.

loghFujo checking in

Well, I'll give you credit for not going with the blindingly obvious pick for a gay couple in LoGH.

blondie and red head are boring as fuck
I have better fun seeing a teased yang.

Whenever the remake finally airs we're going to enter a new age of LoGH fujoshit. It's gonna be great.

only if they use the old design.

>Naming the religious terrorists,
>terrarists
and everyone hates them
God I love LoGH

Sup Forums is gonna go apeshit bananas over the new adaptation aren't they? I can only imagine all the "crafty Fezzani" macros there'll be.

Are you saying Fezzan wasn't just a way for the author to complain about jewery without coming off as an anti-Semite?

That would be ideal, but I'm more concerned with everybody's characterization being left intact. I can accept inferior designs as long as they don't fuck up the personalities.

New voice actors is what's really gonna throw me off. It's really difficult to imagine a lot of the cast sounding different.

Does Japan even have rabid "we must protect the jews" types? I would imagine countries lacking in jewry would care less about their opinions.

Images of Reinhard will be shopped to have Trump's face instead and if anything is done with the space program and going to Mars they'll meme the creation of a galactic empire

>Images of Reinhard will be shopped to have Trump's face

I just wish the Terraists weren't so bland and shitty in the end. Them and post-Yang Julian are some of the weakest parts of the show.

>New voice actors is what's really gonna throw me off.
shit, I'm really attached to yang's VA voice. I really dont know who can replace him at that caliber. maybe Seki Tomokazu but it's not laid back yet firm as Tomiyama

I just finished it too user, oddly enough.

Capitalism has no place in this universe.

He was right to die.

terrarist arc represent the futility of religious belief in the age of progressing civilization. So in a way, there's not much you can further explore about them since supernatural belief is deemed to be outdated and backwater. If they were to implement religion as the big third power in party, then logh wouldn't be so political anymore. Not saying that it can't, but it can't be help.

I was kind of disappointed that the Terraists never became a bigger foe. I wanted to see another faction that could go toe-to-toe with the alliance and empire in a space battle.

Seki tomokazu is perfect for reinhard though

How can a 30 yr old man be so moe?

Reinhard's VA is still alive, so I hope they can get him.

being a suffering historian makes his pitifulness almost adorable it seem.

GET OUT
OUT
OUT

Walter is not for sexual much less for faggotry.

Well if we're gonna talk about certainties, I'm pretty sure Bittenfeld's VA will be back since he was in Persona 5 as the politician guy not long ago.

the god of sex belongs to Yang.

Don't look at this then.

>Walter is not for sexual
That's a lie and you know it, user.

Yang is such a hungry cockslut. Can't resist a big Teutonic daddy bear.

Who is the best Alliance character and why is it Attenborough?

>Finally confess to waifu after years
>leave her just a few years after marriage

who else need to be replaced?
I was sure I wanted to hear bittenfield voice in Norio Wakamoto's voice

I guess I'll start compiling a list right now.

they should keep the classical music too, but with a few original of their own for originality.

there was an image that show the amount of orchestra pieces being played by specific artist in logh but damn I lost it. asd

What will threads for the remake even be about? Comparing it to the OVAs, homolust, and Sup Forums memes?

> Comparing it to the OVAs, homolust, and Sup Forums memes?
>implying those are separable

didn't Bittenfeld actually love Ballet?

He seemed pretty bored by it.

All right done getting a list together

>Wakamoto
>active

The only series he's been doing for the last couple years are long-running ones he already had a role in and was contractually obligated to finish. He hasn't taken a single new role in years. It'd be a pretty long shot to bring him back for a brand new LoGH project, especially if they already had to replace most of the other actors anyways.

I bet this fine gentleman did.

I play the browser game off and on and almost everybody who's voiced sounds old as fuck. I suspect they're just gonna recast everybody.

You all realize there's no chance in hell they're not going to Yamato 2199 this shit and add in a whole bunch of new female characters and genderswap a whole bunch of secondary male ones, right?

>MUH DEMOCRAZY
was Yang right?

Was Mecklinger even around in that episode?

Yea I forgot to put a disclaimer how everyone is atleast above 40, even 50, years of age. Most are only doing long-running series.

>genki girl bittenfeld
>busty oneesan poplan
>kuudere oberstein

Genderswap OVA, with all the male VAs trying to voice female characters would be pretty good though.

Possible, but I doubt it. LoGH is prime fujobait and they are gonna milk that hard. I guarantee that's the reason it's being remade.

I'm guessing Empire goes full fujobait, FPA goes waifubait. It would even make sense in-universe.

Will wait for all the ships to be kancolled

Yes, without Reinhard accepting a constitution he'd agree to leave humanity without a plan b

He was given a decent reputation but he was always literally in the back lines doing logistics-related work, and whenever he showed up, he was assigned more office/admin stuff, never to be seen again.

Was he just a really competent administrator? What did he even do as an admiral?

>Moreover, Mecklinger had demonstrated reliable ability in both the battle of Amritsar and the Lippstadt War, in which he shone with numerous impressive feats. As a commander, he was more the strategist, who observed the tides of battle with a wide view, positioning and commanding carefully in response to circumstance. He could command a fleet well, but his administrative abilities were much harder to come by.

Vol 3 pages 100-1. It's great how we have the actual translated novels now to explain this stuff. So essentially, Mecklinger's a good-but-not-amazing military commander but a fantastic administrator, which is why he's typically doing those jobs.

>Was he just a really competent administrator? What did he even do as an admiral?

You just described his job succinctly. The unsung heroes that make sure everyone gets their supplies.
Reinhard also doesn't make any comments about him being expendable or cutting him loose like with the other minor admirals, so he must have been important or integral.

I've been putting it off forever because I couldn't be assed going through over 100 episodes. Only watched sea of stars and a few episodes.

But since I'm burnt out on chinese cartoons I might as well give it a proper shot now.

He was stationed on Odin at the time if I remember correctly. They actually mention that it's unfortunate he's not around to do all this shit with Reinhard instead of them.

I'm going through it myself, 1 episode per day.

It's the perfect pace, the past 40 days have simply zoomed by.

All the novels got translated? Are there torrents up, or would I just have to hunt for hard copies?

So yeah, I had the idea that he was somewhat underrated, but it kinda sucked that his specialty made him take a back seat from the spotlight. Same with Oberstein to an extent - he only showed up when he was directly or indirectly involved in something, we didn't get to see much of his duties aside from that.

Got any more neat tidbits from the novels?

1-3 are translated and you should buy them because sales determine whether they do the rest. They're like 10-15 burgerbucks apiece and definitely worth it.

I'm looking for the source, but novels 4-6 are planned to be translated too. The general dates of release for 4-6, are with the source.

The novels are getting officially translated by an actual publishing company. You can buy them on Amazon. Only the first three have been released, with 4-6 planned for release in 2017. They even have audiobooks which are honestly pretty good.

There's a bunch of really neat tidbits from the novels. One is that they go far, far more in detail into random errata about how they measure time and weeks across separate planets, or things like how the empire uses a unit of measurement called the Kaiserfahn based on Rudolf the Great's height, what supplies each Spartanian has, etc. That being said, there's a lot of fairly significant differences from the show - For example, while Dusty is a character in the books, his role is far, far less significant, and almost all of his screentime in the show was added basically as a way to give Yang somebody to monologue to instead of having all of it happen internally. Likewise Poplan hasn't even shown up yet, and all of the scenes with him and Julian are instead with Julian and a variety of other, unnamed pilots. I'd absolutely recommend checking them out if you can.

Threadly reminder Reuenthal is the single most based character in all of LotGH.

I miss him.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for them, not too keen on having them shipped because I'll be paying in maplebucks

>while Dusty is a character in the books, his role is far, far less significant
And so what!

But I really like hearing all the weird details, I was also curious about what language the Free Planets Alliance spoke (Japanese? Chinese?), because the Empire were clearly Germanic, while the democrats were from all ogre the place

This.

>Free Planets Alliance spoke (Japanese? Chinese?)
I believe it's French, although that's a shot in the dark since I can't remember from what proof I saw to make that conclusion.

If anything it's still German, since the FPA is basically the descendant of the Empire.

>I was also curious about what language the Free Planets Alliance spoke
Haven't seen it outright stated anywhere yet but I'm assuming German based on pic related.

no this is not your blog.

...

>I believe it's French, although that's a shot in the dark since I can't remember from what proof I saw to make that conclusion.
The funny hats.

I got burnt out in mid July after I saw 86 episodes within 2 weeks. I started part 4 yesterday, even though I know what happens. Whatever they do I hope they don't replace Ikeda as Kessler.

English.

LotGH is already all over Sup Forums, probably has the biggest following of any anime, on that board.

wow thanks user I'm gunna keep this in the note for future uses too.

>looking at the dead list
this makes me feel sad.

FPA side seems ok, but Imperial's is the problem thou.
With this such large pool of a voice cast, where are they going to find the budget to hire all these!?

Sup Forums is somewhat anti-anime so it's ok as long as the weeb contender keep it at bay.

on a side note, /his/ does a better job at producing logh thread than any boards despise it's mostly unintended. thanks to Yang being the Historian mascot.
