The filler right now is enjoyable for me though. It's nice watching Sasuke fight like a mary sue for a while instead of Naruto being stupid, getting knocked around, struggling, overcoming, and talking like usual.

Boruto and Sarada are more likable than Naruto and Sakura/Sasuke were at that age, and Himawari is leaps and bounds more interesting than that sad sack Hinata. They will all be way better characters than their parents were by the time they grow up.

I'm 100% sure it wasn't about "killing the big bad guy" but all the villages getting together as a single force, the conflict was gone thanks to that, sure, peace never last, that's a given, but as far as the story of Naruto goes it was over, also, there hasn't been any mention of an unsatisfied minor village in any moment, the two last movies have been about some autistic moon people, which are literally, above us and our conflicts.

There isn't enough material any way they do it, even if they recap the movie again and/or turn the manga weekly the anime will still catch up to the manga in a matter of weeks. The only way they avoid filler hell is if they have Kishimoto dictate the story and then animate it.
