That Gohan is losing his shit over Videl, when he himself went to Namek as a 5 year old and fought impossibly stronger opponents, for the sake of reviving Piccolo, until literally getting his neck broken, speaks volumes of how much Gohan was looking down on Videl as a person and fellow martial artist.

Videl could have got her ass out of the ring when she broke Spopovich's neck and he 'recovered', but chose not to; even more to the point of this being a tournament, with rules, she could have also given up at any time, but stubbornly chose not to, due to stupidity/pride/being Mr. Satan's daughter.
