What made the 1990s so great?

While a majority of persons agree that the 1990s stand out politically, economically and socially as the best decade of the past hundred years there are still a few skeptics. Why is that? What was it like living in the 1990s? What went so wrong after the 1990s?

it was the compromise decade to an extent. Wasn't too right, wasn't too left and everything just lived within their means.

then 9/11 happened, everyones at each others throats and everybody is fat and autistic

EVERYONE WAS GETTING HIGH ON THE COMPUTER REVOLUTION

it was a time of Hope, people thought that things were better than they had been and were going to be even better than they were. the US was in upswing, our enemies defeated, or economy booming. Prices were low and technology was just starting to rapidly change the industrial and social aspects of the world. It was the pinnacle of the Analog age. mechanical objects weer at their furthest development before becoming computer controlled.

Homogeneity, morality, pride, patriotism, chauvinism... I mean, just list them all.

Ugh what kind of picture is that op?
Theres no diversity in it at all
No wonder you want to go back to the 90s

Why is this a meme thread now? Sage

What do you mean no diversity? There are clearly blondes and brunettes in OP picture.

/Thread.
9/11 and fat people happened

left to right
Jew, jew, white, white, leaf, jew, jew, jew, jew

>not wanting a smoking hot Jewish girlfriend from the 1990s
>.t low test numals

I hated the 90s. Grunge and rap killed radio and MTV. Bands from Seattle making shit depressing music. It really was the start of the decline. I do not have fond memories of the 90s, then again I graduated in 2000 so those years were my adolescent.

meh the 90s were kinda boring now the 80s that was the best time to be alive

The based hair style.

In the U.S. the 90s were simply the height of cultural ignorance, selfishness, and greed. The top of the Blind American Culture bubble, before it burst.
Similar to how age 16-22 is the best time in life for most people, before they grow up and realize life is about personal responsibility and facing the facts even if they don't make you feel good.
Also probably relevant is that the 90s were the peak of the blue-pilled boomers' control over society, and the mainstream media's lies, before the internet started breaking that stranglehold.

90s sucked ass in terms of culture. The collapse of Soviet Union and the agressive exploitation of the headless east block countries made the 90s the best time economically for the western world. When people have money they are happy thats all

The deep state was deliberately making it as comfy and peaceful as possible, so that 9/11 would cause as much psychological trauma as possible.

Grunge was good though. Not so much Nirvana but more AiC and Soundgarden.

Nirvana haters are contrarian losers. Nirvana is fucking amazing. An amazing band went mainstream, sorry if your cynicism can't rationalize that.

>Citing the hundreds of thousands of satellite television dishes in Iran, Benjamin Netanyahu told the House Government Reform Committee that the United States could incite a revolution against the conservative Iranian clergy through the use of such Fox Broadcasting staples as "Melrose Place" and "Beverly Hills 90210" -- both of which feature beautiful young people in varying states of undress, living, glamorous, materialistic lives and engaging in promiscuous sex.
This stuff destroys societies. And you wonder why the current generation is so fkd up; we were destroyed culturally and morally.

Finland had recession in the 90s

Uhhhhmmmm, no sweetie. Kurt Cobain was an overrated guitar player and had a shitty singing voice that was easily replicated, as evident by the success of Nickleback and Three Doors Down copying that caterwauling and pandering to a generation of losers who had a boner for him "because, man, he just really gets, like, my pain." and were willing to throw money at anyone whorish enough to bring those feels back.

Nigger-free entertainment

>What made the 1990s so great?
That OP was definitely not alive then. A world without OP is infinitely improved.

It was before we reached peak degeneracy and before you became necessarily redpilled

every thing was better except video game graphics, internet speed and no HDTV

>No niggers in your neighborhood unless they played in the NFL or NBA
>only mexicans you saw mowed lawns
>absolutely ZERO Muslims
>only non whites were successful Orientals
>PC didn't exist, SNL, stand up comedy was at its peak because no one got offended they laughed at jokes

just a few things I can think of and I lived in California in the 90s

Really reminds me of something earlier in the 20th century. Welcome to the Weimar republic now

Seconded.

Far from it. The internet was just coming into the mainstream. It was glorious. You needed to have some basic logic and common sense to utilize the internet at all. It kept the retards out. Apple ruined everything by simplifying it down to the equivalent to putting a square peg into a square hole

Get this, in Australia they recommend niggers watch friends as an example of Western relationships. Suppressing the nigger tendencies with Joey Tribbiani seems counterproductive, to say the least.

the adoption of a privative OS.

90s were boring

I've wondered if they were actually right in The Matrix about the late 90s being the peak of our civilization.

The 90's were shit. That's when the Clintons and ZOG deindustrialized the US and whored us out to China.

Degeneracy accelerated and the Shitskin invasion reached critical mass.

They just seem OK now because the damage from those policies hadn't taken effect yet and some of the old America was still left.

Source - 90's kid.

fpbp

>Wasn't too right, wasn't too left
makes sense considering it was a Republican Congress with a Democrat president, and they actually knew how to work together.

90s is when music turned gay

Fuck the 90s

20s,40s,50s,80s,00s > 30s,60s,70s,90s

>What made the 1990s so great?
Well shit I dunno, maybe because they didn't have smartphones. Look again at that pic, nobody's holding a phone. Nobody. People actually have time to socialise in the real world.

90s were the start of full-degeneracy

Millenials only think in terms of pop culture and false nostalgia, what you said is false to them.

this is correct

T fucking V made the 90's awesome. Plus naivete.

This

I hated Nirvana then and I still hate them, I tried to get into them to convince myself I was being an ignorant bigot, it turns out Kurt Cobain was the bigot.

Niggers knew their place.

Also, apparently everyone became a faggot in the 2000s.

Notice anything strange?

every one thought faggots were disgusting and needed to be quarantined in the 90s

80s was good all the way through.
90s was good at the start but petered off towards the end and left us with post millennial garbage

Funny, at least 50% of that picture is Jewish.

>While a majority of persons agree that the 1990s stand out politically, economically and socially as the best decade of the past hundred years

Disco sucked.
/thread

In 2035 people will be saying "What made the 2010s so great? remember when there were only 57 genders and whites were still a majority in America?"

Children would play man hunt with semi auto paintball guns and do other fun outdoor activities. Nobody played n64 during daylight hours or unless it was winter. No cell phones just payphones and aol IM, TV was only watched for maybe 2 hours a day

No on will be saying that because humanity will cease to exist.

Youth raised in the conservative Reagan era 80s. Speaker Gingrich balanced budget and surplus.

okay maybe 40%. Pretty sure Ziering, Spelling, Green and Carteris are. Doherty, Perry, Priestley, and Garth are probably Irish and/or Catholics.

Try 33%.
Tori Spelling, the tall, blonde guy and the girl with the glasses are Jews.

>END over towers

Man I could have sworn Brian Austin Green was. Oh well. It's not too important to me. A lot of gentiles named Green.

people drove around and did stuff. talked and hung out. rainy days and spandex . hmmf.
now people do that less and smartphones

tfw youll never buy Christmas presents in busy 1990 mall

Um no Sweetie they won't. The 2010s are shit just like the 2000s. No one will be looking back at them as great. Most won't even remember 2000/2010s because spent the decades starring down at smartphones.

I'm Millennial and the Great Recession made me want more money and more things than ever. Once Boomers retire it's my time to take as much money as possible. The Great Recession was my famine. Once the economy is good I will be like the fat guy hoarding all the food at the buffet. I will never famine again.

>implying Gen X won't be stepping in after the Boomers and further raping Millenials for profit
Gen X was designed to be an elite ruling class. The small numbers of the generation lend it to being a minority easily ruling over the masses. Millenials and Gen Z haven't got a chance.

>tfw I missed the best decade

it was right before the new millennium- sense of mystery & excitement for this new age... internet was a new toy, the sky was the limit.

>tfw will never relive 1999

The last great year, as far as I'm concerned.

I do though because I'm ruthless and one of the older Millennials born in the 80s. Everyone will underestimate me because I'm Millennial and because of their underestimation I can easily fuck people over. I'm capitalist because I want more and more.

9/11 happened

There is ONE difference between the nineties and now:

People appreciated what they had and did not take their prosperity for granted
FULL STOP.

As a kid who grew up in the 90s, there was this air about the coming new century. We were at the end of one era and begining of another. People's spirits were high. Then the 2000s came and the new era didn't begin. It was more of the same old shit. Then 9/11 happened. Things have gone steadily downhill since.

Seinfeld is better than Friends, debate me

I was a kid and was protected from all the dope head slutty blonde gangbanging teabag niggers although it was multi kulti I still got to have a childhood and that was nice

le 56% wasn't real yet

you female?

Which 90s were better? The 1990s or the 1890s?

t h e
m o s t
d i v e r s i t y

...

(((they))) came

people had jobs that could pay the bills right out of high school.

It was like our 50's. Things seem simple and good when thinking back and looking back. But it was full of it's own bullshit we were just young and life was easy.

Some people say the 90s were the best for the same reason others say the 50s were best: they were children at that time.

It was also full of gangs, drive by shootings, riots, crackheads, and heroin addicts.

Only if you lived in New York.

Pax Americana
>tfw all it took to shatter the illusion was to take down some random towers

No that was cities all over America. It was a time you'd get shot for wearing the wrong colors or the expensive sneakers.

In that pic, Tori spelling looks like the best one

"Value diversity" was invented around year 2000.

i think 9/11 was an inside job

but lets suppose it wasnt

the terrorist won

Ah I see now.
That's your perception of America because you are a nigger.

Strange, because in reality Jennie Garth was the best one.

You know what was interesting? Science was considered cool in the 1990's. Everyone was like "WOAH! ROCKET SHIPS!" YEAH! FROGS!" And then science stores at the mall.

>FUCK YEAH BOOK CATAOLOGUES!

I graduated High School 1990. Would I do the 1990s again? Ahh... it was a good time. But nah. Want to try the 1890s right now? Hmm yeah, I'll give it a shot. Fuck else am I doing?

>not wanting to relive the 1990s as a young adult
Why are you so bitter about the 90s? Were you raped as a young adult?
