Urusei Yatsura

On episode 12 now. How can one show be so fun? Those cheesy synthesizers are the best.

Shinobu is the best girl.

Is there anything that can stop Ataru's pussythirst

Equal, opposite thirst.

Switching to a parallel dimension.

I picked this up as well as a result of that thread. I'm enjoying it, I want to watch episode 11 but it's been a pain to download it. The speed just doesn't want to keep up.

P.S. please seed.

Here's an alternative:

nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=836382

720p BD rips encoded with a lower bitrate (mostly for OPs/EDs), but they should download much faster.

There's also the Sup Forums watches channel which was used for the live stream a few months ago. It's streaming, but probably the best quality you'll get from streaming (some of the early episodes are only 480p though):

Forgot to mention these are not subbed, so you'll want to get these too:

nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=778609

You will have to load them manually for each episode.

Those are much better file sizes, but there are 0 seeders and 9 leechers.

What's better, the manga or the anime?

Because Takahashi is good at comedy and bad at plot, and Urusei Yatsura doesn't even bother pretending it has a plot.

Anime because of how varied it gets. Manga still good though, and has a lot of stories that weren't adapted (yet).

Marrying Shinobu-chan!

...

I remember when we used to have weekly live streams

...

I think the anime is better than the manga. I feel the same way about Ranma 1/2.

I'm on the 28th.
God fucking dammit, Ataru pisses me off.

daily reminder lum cow episode is best episode

The Ranma anime lacks the progression the manga has in Ranma and Akane's relationship, and it gets bogged down in bad filler too fast.
Doesn't adapt a lot of the good bits either.

>implying hes not the victim
dude he got the short end of the stick when you think about it hes kinda tragic actually

Are those tears of anger coming down your face?

I really don't like how the Ranma filler focuses so much on most special techniques being fake magic tricks. It gets even odder in the final season, when you have Ranma and Ryoga learning how to use freaking ki blasts right in the beginning, only to never use them again after the story is over (outside of the movie and one OVA) and even make a story where a ki blast type attack turns out to be just hidden bombs.

Oh no, I do like the character as a whole, I just dislike the fact that he never takes things seriously.

Did you skip episode 22?

1 out of 28 doesn't mean that much, honestly.

Aside from invalidate "never".

Also, do keep watching.

Maison Ikkoku plot was fun.

>"never"
Oh yeah, keep reading in everything people say literally, that's really good practice.

>Also, do keep watching.
I will.

Best song

what i dont understand is how they run out of material to write about in sci fi shows like these like you can make anything happen and it doesnt matter because the show is already so wacky by default

Would you fuck Sakura?

Best dub ever.

youtube.com/watch?v=xRcxz1MSPd0

...

Is that the BBC dub

In a heartbeat. I wouldn't take her out to dinner though, that would just be a waste of money.

...

>hard to see with this oversized jelly bean on my head

heh

...

>watching literal To Love Ru clone

Takahashi as I recall, wanted to make her series longer each time. InuYasha was fuck longer than Ranma and perhaps even UY which made it shitty at the end because fucking Nakaru(whatever that guy's name was) kept escaping

MI benefited with having a story that wrapped itself up after the comedy stuff and went into romantic-comedy. The main couple got together and everyone else was touched on and things came full circle to a good conclusion.. UY's 'Endless Days' theme worked since they went into it with the movies 'Beautiful Dreamer' and 'Lum the Forever' Fuck I even think the end credits of 'LtF' was a kind of farewell before the last movie by showing the major characters and moments from the past movies.

Fuck ya. Thanks

...

I was hoping TLR would be like a modernized version of UY, but the MC was the complete opposite of Ataru and not as good. The only thing he has over Ataru is his magical ability to land his face in a vagina whenever he falls over.

>tfw will never have orgy with benten, oyuki, and ran while also impregnating them

never forget that Urusei Yatsura brought fat girls to Japanimation

Plus no doubt the girls just can't help but adore him. I haven't seen TLU but am I correct in sayign that it is the usual 'Girls all want him' deal while UY has most of the girls just plain out reviling Ataru.

>there exists an urusei yatsura dating sim
>trying to woo girls like shinobu, sakura, ran
Why does this exist?

...

The most beautiful analog polysynths in history were made around those times, yet they used them for tacky fake-horns type stuff like usual. Funny stuff.

Besides that yes UY was several decades ahead of its time in terms of anime. Striking out on your own watching an anime so very removed from our times gives you a far, far more complete perspective of it than just watching only the newest stuff.

Kill yourself:

The fuck? They used an Octave CAT for that? Or I guess it's just a recreation. SH-2 and MS-20 make sense though. Maybe I'm getting too tangential here but it's still awesome.

Do you like Cherry?

I love Cherry.

>I haven't seen TLU but am I correct in sayign that it is the usual 'Girls all want him' deal
Yes.
But honestly, he's barely even a character, just someone that drives the plot.
>seen
Read it. Don't watch it.

Context?

What I don't get either is that since they wanted to end the story and tell people to move on why didn't they just have a cohesive ending which lum leaves or Ataru finally marries her or something
