Is this good or is just normalfag tier?

Is this good or is just normalfag tier?

The animation is okay, but it's just fujoshi tier shit.
Would watch if I was gay or a woman.

It's amazing OP, a breath of fresh air 10/10.
The characters, the story, the animation, the feelings, the music, the sounds; everything talks to me, I don't know how but it does. And it's amazing because nothing talks to me these days.
OH! and the chemistry between Yuri & Viktor, I don't really know much about chemistry but I think it's great because they're 2 man.

both
it's a decent sports show regardless of the gay shit.

If you like the aftertaste of cock

Pretty good.
Surprisingly cozy.

It's gay as fuck, but it's good

I don't think your average normalfag is that fucking gay.

Okay I would say, maybe a 6.5-7/10 if I'm being generous. When they get it right, the animation quality is high but when its poor its really poor. The sound and music are excellent, characters are a bit hit or miss for me, I only remember about six of them. It focuses more on the characters rather than the sport itself so if that's not your thing you'll get annoyed quickly.

I also find it can't strike a balance between its "comedic" moments and its serious moments too well because of the fujo it shoves in your face during said comedy. This is the kind of show where I lower my expectations and shut off my brain, so I can mostly enjoy it for what it is.

tldr anyone who says this show is a 10/10 is exaggerating, but if you enjoy sports anime which focus on the characters you might as well watch the first episode.

Why bother? It's ending in a few hours

It´s normalfag shit, with ephasis on FAG.and SHIT.

I don't think that fujoshi classify as normalfags.

Emphasis*

literally the most important anime made this decade. It's so important to have representation. LOVE WINS.

Are you okay? You should see a doctor

Fujotrash with terrible stock animation and art

People in the West will use it as a representation of LGBT culture in anime lol

...

It's trash

I'm really happy that this anime shows that anyone can love anyone no matter the gender!

a

Why watch shitty homobait when you can just watch GodAni's Free?

I'm fine with fujobait, but this crosses the line into full blown pandering at times. Also that cute girl (male) doesn't get enough screen time.

Yeah. Evangelion finished airing 22 years ago. Why do people still bother?

Is it gay or not? I know how delusional the fujos are, but everyone id saying the russian guy and the moonie boy are engaged.

Heavily implied gay since nothing has been confirmed.

Two guys saying hello to each other is enough to qualify as fujobait. We're pretty shallow when it comes down to it.

It's about love

Love for a sport, love for competition, love inter-personally between friends, siblings, lovers, coach and student; it's a showcase of love and believing in yourself and it's so fucking positive, everyone loves everyone more or less and it's beautiful. (And super fucking gay)

All that being said, the animation is pretty alright when it's good, it would've been nice to see what they could've done with a bigger budget. The opening reuses frames to an insulting degree. The music and acting are great imo, the characters have their unique personalities more or less, it really feels like there's a world beyond the show. It is essentially a sports anime with a (heaping) side of fujo and comedy, so if you're homophobic or don't like sports anime then it's probably not for you. Technically it's up to par, if you're familiar with ice skating.

tl;dr if you don't like sports anime, are at all insecure in your sexuality, or otherwise gravitate away from anime with real-world scenarios, then this show probably isn't for you.

It's ok

I haven't gotten to that part yet, but it's gay enough that it doesn't have the plausible deniability that most shows favored by /y/ or /u/ do.

Trust me I know of how fearsome the runaway imagination can be, but the line between implied gay and imagined gay has to be drawn somewhere. Something like Ookiku Furikabutte comes close to that line without crossing it.

Nip bought 700+ Euros (on installments) wedding rings for his Russian coach and put his on his ring finger in front of a Church as "good luck charm". Coach told the rest of the skaters he's going to marry him when he wins the gold.

Agreed, there are certainly times when the show feels like pandering (no matter how few those moments might be).The problem with YOI is its very hard to make valid criticisms of the show without people getting on your case about it. To an extent that's true for any show but this one in particular really brings that problem forward.

I enjoy that its trying to be a pure love story between two people who happen to be guys, but the way western fanbase behaves almost makes me wish it was all bait so I can laugh at their tears.

It's the "muh representation" show except good. One thumb up, worth watching.

It's surprisingly good.

Heavily implied gay assuming they do not just outright marry, kiss or exchange romantic confessions in the finale.

It's just that the pandering goes so far it might as well be actually gay, but there's still breathing room to interpret it as just really really close student/coach.

it's pretty novel which makes it fun. animation has already been touched on, but the only other major drawback was that the pacing can be whacky.

worth a shot if you can tolerate the homo.

7.5/10

I guess I could cut the show some slack since it IS figure skating after all. I've been looking at it from a general sports anime perspectative, but men's figure skating is kind of an outlier in terms of gayness. Not sure why it took me so long to make that connection.

It has given me my love for anime back. Not because of the gay, but because I love to see a studio and author love what they're doing. The problem is there isn't anything else I want to watch right now.

>I enjoy that its trying to be a pure love story between two people who happen to be guys, but the way western fanbase behaves almost makes me wish it was all bait so I can laugh at their tears.
My ideal scenario is gay ending and Tumblr disappears forever as Yahoo is swallowed by their own stupidity. Except the porn, that can stay.

It's not bad but unless you are a fujo you probably won't get full enjoyment out of it. I had to abandon YOI threads to escape their filth.

Its for women and faggots.
Mostly women

I'm probably nitpicking a bit more than I should since Haikyuu S2 is my benchmark for sports anime. I wish I watched other shows before watching it.

>My ideal scenario is gay ending and Tumblr disappears forever as Yahoo is swallowed by their own stupidity. Except the porn, that can stay.
We can dream, one day it might happen.

tumblr tier cringe

double dicks tier

It's the meme anime of the season. If you liked drivel like boku dake and re:zero, you'll like this. It's rated more highly by normalfags because of the SJW pandering

It's fresh.

It's good if you like sucking dick.

Its not sjw pandering, its fujo pandering. sjws do not exist in japan.

Blame the western fujos for bringing the LGBT representation theory to the east.

naw bruv asia has always been a gayer place than the occident

I don't watch fujoshi crap ever.

I enjoy the fuck out of the show but I don't find Yuuri and Victors relationship particularly interesting. It doesn't ruin the anime for me but I do not get the hype. Being a canon gay relationship outside of shonen-ai is amazing but the relationship itself is bland. If I ever said that in YOI thread I'd just get called a shitposter.

It's okay m8, I feel the same way. Their relationship requires too much filling in the blanks between their episodic pandering. The buildup is lost, leading it to feel repetitive and dry.

I agree with this, but also see the appeal in representation. I don't like the fetishizing people apply to it though.

Yeah, I do not mind if they actually end up an official pair or anything. It's nice to see anime go that far again, but whether it happens or not won't perturb me too much either.

Their dynamic feels very inconsistent at times. It presents itself as coach-athlete relationship then all of a sudden the plot needs to move so its about unconditional love. Whether or not that is a problem with the relationship itself or the show's pacing in general I'm not sure.

How is it normalfag if it panders heavily to smelly fujo?

Literal fag-tier

There are people ironically watching it due to muh representation.

Now that you said it, I think this works as a normalfag anime because of the implied homosexuality. LGBT is the new hotness right?

>normalfag tier
With emphasis on FAG, yes.
Watch it if you're a faggot or a woman and you'll probably enjoy it.

Yes, I've seen straight sanfran people or whatever, the same people who REALLY hate anime at large, really into it because it's gay.

>still being a kyoanus licker in the current year

It's okay. Has a few good moments. Of course all the men behave like little girls because it's a moe shit show but for women.

I don't get anons like you, OP. Can't you just enjoy a story regardless of who you think it's targeted towards?

>complain about SJWs and Tumblr always complaining about shows not targeting them
>anons complain about a show not targeting them

Why is irony lost on all of you?

Fujoshit should burn

Did you get lost on your way to twitter?

It's the first time a fanbase behaviour actually managed to influence my appreciation of a show. I think it's a good anime but I have a hard time not hating it.
I'd say it's a 6 or maybe 7/10. Even if you're not into fujoshit.

What the hell are you talking about? at no point I said in my post "BOO HOO SHOWS LIKE THIS SHOULDN´T EXISTS!", OP asked for our opinions and my opinion is that the show is shit and for faggots

No one is complaining except you. Everyone just said the show is targeted towards fujoshi girls. Fuck off retard.

It is making history.

It's boring as fuck.

I actually had to stop and wonder if was trolling because there's nothing fresh about Yoi, it still has the same tropes and cliches of anime, except for the canon gay couple.

It's a solid 5.5/10

>homobait
>implying Free, with no canon gays, isn't homobait

You really have to watch it for yourself op. Fujos like it because it has canon gay without most of the stupid BL tropes and irl skaters like it because it takes the sport aspect of the show seriously and includes lots of details of what goes into it. Animation is QUALITY after the first ep during skating bits but they didn't have much time to work with and it's still impressive that they actually tried to animate movement instead of using stills and hired a skater choreographer for them. BD hopefully will fix this. It reaches internationally since characters are from all over the world.

>homo love is okay
>so progressive!
Yeah, maybe 100 years ago. Progressive right now would be a love story between a man and a little girl or a man and an animal.

kek

>What is Kodomo no jikan
>What is Monster Musume

>a man and a little girl
:^)

:^(

MAPPA is officially the gayest studio rn

But the gay shit makes it better.
