I like this manga very much, I believe it is one of the best historical manga right now (with God tier art and good story). I even posted it in numerous OPT threads

But it couldn't be denied that perhaps a huge reason that an anime adaptation for this has been grenlit for MAPPA because of the fujobucks.

So what does Aniplex do to ruin a perfectly decent historical manga with a good director and studio on board? 12 episodes only? For an anime original ending with terrible plot ideas on them? Force Sawano and a bunch of other crap SME seiyuu (do they even have any males signed or just Trysail and Inori Minase) and their theme songs onto the show even though they'd clash with the historical atmosphere? All of the above. This one admittedly I don't understand the marketing angle on just yet, it just sounds like a regular warring kingdoms style manga series without absolutely fanatically devoted followers or anything Aniplex tends to covet when they decide whether to fund or market an anime for something. If the goal is more fujo baiting it seems like there would be better options.
