Shokugeki chapter 196

Shokugeki chapter 196

It became a regular occurence that Saiba served the students at the dormitory his failed dishes.
Even though Jun joined the dormitory very recently, she already became a prey of Saiba's failed dishes
Saiba apparently is going to participate in the next year's World Young Cooking Competition, known as the "THE BLUE"
As Dojima and Azami are excited to hear the news, Saiba challenges them to a battle
Saiba wins the battle with ease. Dojima and Azami are frustrated that they lost.
Saiba: "This dormitory is the best place"
The next day, the students at Totsuki have assembled to celebrate Saiba's participatin in "THE BLUE"
But there are around 50 students that accuse Saiba of having bribed the officials from "THE BLUE" and that's the only reason why he is allowed to participate
Dojima tells Saiba to ingore them but Saiba ignores Dojima's advice and suggets to the 50 students to do a 50 vs 1 RĂ©giment de Cuisine and the one who wins will win the price to participate in "THE BLUE"
The 50 cooks get defeated one by one as Saiba demonstrates his overwhelming talent. As Saiba is getting bored, he tells 10 of them to come at him all at once. They say that there was no way to defeat the prodigy and seem to have given up but Saiba grabs them by the neck.
Saiba: It must be pretty easy to call someone a prodigy despite not knowing how difficult and challening it is to keep pushing the way forward huh?!!
Saiba: If you don't have any intentions to present your dishes, then stop it now!
Saiba: I will finish you off then!
Dojima: (When I think of it, it was since this time that Joichiro started to not show his smile anymore while cooking)
Azami: ...Wonderful
Dojima: People like to call him with different names
Dojima: A true Genius! A Pioneer! A Revolutionary! A Pioneer of Taste!
Dojima: But since this day.... Joichiro obtained one more name
Dojima: Demon (Ashura)

No wonder Jun hated him.

yeah, these are probably the legit ones.

In other news, Akira Ishida has been cast as Tsukasa in the upcoming OVA.

>more JesusJou

Tsukuda never learn.

Hisasi is a god

So Azami gets wet for Jou when he entered a point where the frustration of maintaining genius-level dishes got to him and he became a snappy edge lord. But when Jou settled down, and reaffirmed his joy for cooking, most assuredly through meeting Souma's mom, Azami got buttmad that he was NTR'd out of an edgy senpai?

>a good chunk of us thought that this was Azami's reason, more as a joke, but it's actually looking to be the real deal

>Fumio basically told us Jou used to be an edgelord.
>Azami is an edgelord.
>Azami told us Jou used to be magnificent, but was ruined.

It was basically already spelled out for us.

When I first read the part with Fumio, I thought that he was like a full-blown, Hell's Kitchen type. I didn't want to think that Jou of the past was more heavy-handed with the edge, but I was wrong.

>So called super genius gets 7th seat in his 2nd year
>Azami gets 3rd seat in his 1st year
What gives?

That's not genius, just a severe case of homolust.

Jou was slacking (not in his cooking, but at school in general) and Azami is a hyper ambitious genius.

Then what does that make Doujima?

A sober and responsible man who had to put up with both of them.

>Saiba apparently is going to participate in the next year's World Young Cooking Competition
So that's a hint for a future arc, right?

Maybe, but Souma would have to rise pretty high for him to be sponsored over say, Erina, or whomever is the next 1st seat.

Obviously, a few of them will get to go, not just Souma.

Thank you Hisasi

>World Young Cooking Competition
Calling it now. When Souma participates in The Blue, amongst the competition filled with 18-25 year olds, there will be a 16 year old international prodigy who crushes everybody. And he will be half-Japanese.

Wrong, he's gonna be American or French, since in the end he's gonna get crushed by Japanese prodigy

A world cooking tournament arc is now 100% confirmed. In addition, the main antagonist will be a Japanese living in America (because Japanese people view America as the holy nation that has naturally superior people.)

I wonder if Eishi or any former seat 1s have entered "THE BLUE". Eishi will probably compete in it later and get his ass kicked.

I'd say the jobber will be the main villain from a past rival international schools arc.

>A world cooking tournament arc

Good, we might finally have a chance to flesh out all those secondary background characters in excruciating detail.

Hopefully Tootsuki would have permanently expelled some of the cast by then.

Wouldn't now be a good time to trim the cast? It's too late of course since everyone is coming back, but if Tsukuba wanted to off some people, shouldn't that be done sooner rather than later?

We have to remember that Don-senpai made it to second year, and he's not a muh jewels generation kid.

Still though, 1st years who didn't even make the prelims like the buttbros or Madoka are pretty questionable honestly. 60 people made the prelims, and there's only like 70something 2nd years.

What's the chance 1st years actually leveled up under Azami? Or rather, what's the chance they leveled up and outpaced some of the "rebels"?
Because if they haven't, then it's going to be a long time until we get some real expulsions from PSD + friends.

>The 50 cooks get defeated one by one as Saiba demonstrates his overwhelming talent. As Saiba is getting bored, he tells 10 of them to come at him all at once. They say that there was no way to defeat the prodigy and seem to have given up but Saiba grabs them by the neck.
Holy shit, this sounds retarded.

So how's this week's ranking?
It's should be close to the end of the pajeet match

DIAMONS

souma's mom confirmed winner the World Young Cooking Competition

I appreciate that that scene is serving as inspiration for several artists.

Arguments like this should've stopped sice weeks ago when we literally confirmed that Jou >>>>> Doujima by a fucking canyon of a margin, but still was the second seat.

Somamom fucking when.

Since its a flashback that Doujima also knows about (he's telling the Umis), and Doujima doesn't know about Soumom, it'd bet that not so soon.

yeah, this is just the story of Jou leaving Tootsuki. Since he likely met and married her some time after that, and as you say, Doujima doesn't know about it. That and her death will likely be a story for another day.

This week was better, around the middle. I think next week ranks the last Pajeet chapter.

None of the jewels generation will be permanently expelled.

0 for the most part. Majority of the students don't know what they're doing even with Azami's lessons.

None of the main cast will be truly expelled.

Sadly, we can certainly do without the PSD fodder.

...

I don't mind having them around. It's not like they're offensively annoying, the author just needs to care enough to develop them.

yeah, this. The election gave them a little, then, that was that. There've been opportunities since then, but they've gone uncapitalized.

I want more Smoke

He is the most boring out of the bunch.
