What did Sup Forums think about Shingeki no Bahamut? It felt like a much better fantasy/adventure series than all that self-insert isekai garbage that gets churned out every season.

>S2 hype

Can't wait for older Favaro, even if he isn't a main character anymore. He looks dashing as fuck. I hope he reunites with his waifu Amira.

People kept saying that it turned to shit after the few couple episodes. Even if it wasn't completely consistent in quality I enjoyed it to the end though, I think this was just Sup Forums being melodramatic as usual.

Genuinely surprising how great it was

>I think this was just Sup Forums being melodramatic as usual.

What's new? There is some truth to it though, after a strong beginning it fell off a bit. Still enjoyed the fuck out of it and can't wait for Virgin Soul.

That chick with the hand puppets was retarded. Out of all of it I really only liked the main character.

Reminded me of the golden days when Slayers was still a thing.

Take the main two guys
Remove all the card game bullshit monster fantasy crap

Done

Of course, since it wasn't isekai.

MAPPA saving anime again and again.

MBS is rerunning the first season starting from Jan 7 that continues all through the winter season. It would be nice if that connected smoothly to the start of S2 for spring.

>It felt like a much better fantasy/adventure series than all that self-insert isekai garbage that gets churned out every season.

Because it was. The protagonist wasn't some average brown/black haired self insert and was actually a fun character on his own.

The threads when this aired were fun as fuck, and I can't wait until S2.

>not liking deadpan zombie loli
What is wrong with you

Expected bullshit like every game adaption. Got one of the best anime of the year.

I think he was referring to Cerberus, not best loli.

source on this?Cause if so S2 starting in spring is basically certain.

Yeah but he said
>out of all of it
Fair to say he did not like Rita.
And that is terrible.

Every Saturday.

New MC looks like a qt. Hopefully she lives up to Favaro.

Most fun I've had in a while. Couldn't get that stupid grin off my face and the characters were fucking great. The mc wasn't some self-insert isekai generic piece of shit and and was actually better than most mc's. Great high fantasy brought me back to those early fantasy anime of my childhood

I didn't think many would get much high fantasy out of it with the lack of elves, dwarfs, orcs and other D&D stuff and the replacing JRPG glam rock realms, but turns out it wasn't the case.

THIS MUST BE THE WORK OF FAVARO

Hope Amira comes back too. Favaro deserves more than a kiss.

...

I wonder if Kaiser will have something new to shout out now that Favaro isn't part of the main cast?

...

what does she do with the hand?

>Favaro shows up
>FAVAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

>tfw you can tell their relationship throughout the series by the tone of his FAVAROOOOO's

youtube.com/watch?v=JQYanNiEOTs

...

>She wants the D(uck)

...

I thought I had that image of Favaro with the burning christmas tree in the back, but I guess I don't.

I do.

The first 4 episodes were great. Then it got gradually worse since most of the characters went to shit. Zombie loli was the only character that improved as the series went on.

The only character who drastically changed at all over the course of the series was Kaiser. The cast were fine, it was the plot that they were getting caught up in that brought things down.

It was the last show I had fun watching with Sup Forums. Many memes were had.

Bonus.

>amira being turned to a child that has tantrums
>not a drastic change
The series takes a turn for the worse after her kidnapping. Which is a shame because I really loved the series until that point. It was a decent show all in all but nothing more. Also
>favaro being the chosen one thus making his actions destiny
>jeanne getting thrown aside like trash
Fuck them.

>amira being turned to a child that has tantrums
She was like this since the beginning

>>favaro being the chosen one thus making his actions destiny
and he didn't change in terms of behavior at all, didn't even fully confront his role until right at the end either

>jeanne getting thrown aside like trash
I don't even see the problem here, some characters just exist to suffer in this type of story. She was a pretty typical "seems important, actually isn't" fake-out even.

>jeanne getting thrown aside like trash
Only thing I didn't like this was that she was just sorta forgotten during the ending. The town turning against her and her going witch was fun. The people waifufagging her getting asshurt about it during the airing threads was funny too.

She did not throw tantrums and did not go out of her way to be childlish. Also favaro being the chosen one diminishes all freewill from the character, he no longer is a happy go lucky bandit that decided to help someone.

>She did not throw tantrums and did not go out of her way to be childlish
She didn't "go out of her way to be childish", she acted like a child from beginning to end, it was how Favaro was so easily leading her around too.

>Also favaro being the chosen one diminishes all freewill from the character
No, it doesn't. The final couple episodes and the scene of him killing the dragon was literally him only then accepting his role, he was just rolling with things up until then out of his own volition.

I sorta assume Favaro was the chosen one as soon as Amira chose to contract him and no-one else can touch the Bahamut/Amira fusion.

Honestly one of my favourites.

MCs with selfish personalities always draw me in because they usually don't seem so soulless.

I'm annoying they got rid of his pouty lips, that made him very unique

>Bacchus is a permanent party member now.

Cool.

One of the the few series saving the fantasy/adventure genre.

I was gonna say it has all the non-spoiler members, but no Jeanne again.

Post brofist webm from S2 traielr

For somebody with a mentality of a child, she sure knows how to kiss. I guess as soon as she became one with Bahamut, she gained some intelligence?

It was good, but there was something in the latter half that didn't click with me. I'll still be watching S2, really hope they do a great job.

One good one in a sea of shit isn't saving it, more of a brief respite.

FAAAVAROOOOO

A solid, fun, good series about to be wrecked by an inferior sequel that will take everything that made Bahamut a solid, fun, good series and shove it into the background for some shitty Korra-esque titbeast no one wants to even give a shit about. They're taking something that wasn't ever broken, breaking it, and calling that fixing it. Fools. Bahamut will go into the dustbin of history as mediocrity, the same way Lodoss War did after super-shitty Crystania aired.

>but there was something in the latter half that didn't click with me

That is something the majority of people who watched it agree on. The first few episodes were fun as fuck, especially this dance scene.

But I hope Virgin Soul has better pacing.

Anyone else following Twin Heads? Favaro got pretty fucked up last chapter.

Favaro's babysitting once again goes well.

I forgot about this. I hope it gets translated one day.

I guess this is supposed to serve as a sort of interlude between S1 and the upcoming season?

I hope so too. The art is fairly expressive so it's not too hard to get a jist of what is going on but still.

Sounds like it. Favaro and Kaisar have adventures for a while. How much of it will directly lead into S2 who knows.

Nice character moments though, like (I think) Kaisar feeling like shit for once again believing Favaro is a bad guy then realizing he got duped and Favaro being obnoxious until Kaisar stops feeling sorry.

Yet it will still be better than 90% of the "fantasy" series we get these days.

Series had it all. Despite him never making a Tiger and Bunny S2, this is a good alternative. Hope he stays will MAPPA for the rest of his days since Geass is coming back and Sunrise will shillit better than they have in the past.

Nah, it became generic shit after the halfway point. First few episodes were promising, but you could say that about a dozen fantasy/adventure series in the past several seasons.

It was pretty good for an anime adapted from some mobile card game.

>What did Sup Forums think about Shingeki no Bahamut?

While it was airing, Sup Forums generally liked it or strongly liked it not just for the visuals, but for the unique characters. The show also had a number of regular trolls that picked it as their troll target of the season.

Cerberus was a particularly innovative character from the card game. To see her depicted in the anime with her three heads was quite endearing. I can see how that type of metaphoric depiction wouldn't appeal to some anime consumers.

Screencap from the last episode of season one.

Ugly MC.

You take that back you lying whore.

It wasn't good, but it wasn't trash. The plot was all over the place, the magical bullshit was terrible, and Favaro was a terrible character until the last couple of episodes.
Outside of the writing the overall quality was fucking amazing and the only reason I bothered to finish it.

That said it's not hard to be better than isekai.

Looks like Kouzuma Shinsaku is 100% confirmed for being at MAPPA.

I ain't sayin' nothin', but from his twitter, he and equally mostly Baha-confirmed Wakabayashi Atsushi seem to be meeting with Matsumoto Norio an awful lot this last year...

Started promisingly, turned into a clusterfuck.

Would have been better as a buddy adventure with Favaro and Kaisar.

At least the manga seems to be that so far.

...

It's a fantasy show with a clear goal in mind that manages to actually reach and accomplish said goal without pulling a S2 never, even if they did pull a dues ex dragon episode.
This alone makes it memorable in my eyes, since an anime that actually ends, especially in a single cour, is pretty rare.

>HEY, OUR SHITTY MOBILE GAME IS MAKING US HUGE PILES OF CASH, WE'RE GONNA GIVE YOU SOME TO MAKE AN ANIME
>okay, what do you want in it
>WHATEVER YOU THINK IS COOL, JUST GO CRAZY

Thank you based cygames.
