Shokugeki no Soma is a cooking manga

Shokugeki no Soma is a cooking manga

>Shokugeki no Soma is a shit manga

ftfy OP

you're welcome

The anime was a mistake. It built up all the hype and then when it finished, the hype died with it.

Where is the edit with Jou holding a murder weapon?

I feel like Tosh missed an opportunity to have Jouichirou cooking shit so fast that he looked like he had three heads and six arms
Why call him an Ashura if you're not going to use one of the most defining traits? A Myou'ou doesn't look as distinctive and is also stronger than an Ashura.

Why not just type demon?

Or the Author did not think about that.

Because Ashura isn't merely a demon in the same way Mars isn't just a god

I'm only interested in soumom desu

That's a great idea user, especially since he was fighting multiple opponents. What a shame.

Sure looks fierce.

This, now delete the thread.

...

Did he actually kill them?

So basically he was upset that he was so good that everybody didn't want to fight him and when they lost they just say it's because he was so good when he thought it was just cuz they sucked like fucking plebs? Azami wanted more of this? Dude's nuts

No. He felt disrespected by everyone calling him a genius and giving up because he actually worked hard as fuck to get as good as he is now. He hated seeing them write it off as something only a genius could do because he knows first hand that if they worked hard too they could improve.

That's stupid, for all he knows they did work hard and he's just so good they already know they'll never measure up to him. At least that would be the normal response, since this is manga, he's right. Everybody else just couldn't git gud enough to challenge him, it's like he's Medaka

He's more angry about them just writing off his effort than them giving up. It's like some sort of excuse: "Oh, he's just a genius, that's why I lost huh hahaha". Same reason he was assmad at the people tasting his cooking, he toiled for so long and nobody acknowledged his work and basically just waited for his next accomplishment.
Personally I feel like he's being oversensitive about the latter point to an extent although I get his anger over the former

We had multiple panels of Jou trying new things, thinking and working hard on dishes.

But when he completes a dish, or win a match, people just dismiss it as "its because he's a genius", when they don't know, nor worked as hard as he did.

It's not that he doesn't know people were weaker, its just they write it off his actual effort.

So basically big fish and a small pond syndrome.. Tootsuki of old must have really stunk. Then again, modern Tootsuki isn't any better, only a handful of their students are good and even then, they all fell to the 10 and others through dirty methods like hair gel dude immediately getting expelled for smelling like hair gel and Wolverine getting expelled without an actual match.

Jouichiro hit the wall called 'genius'.

Remember the kind of person he is, deep down. He's one of the people who truly embodies the spirit of Tohtsuki as it was presented in the beginning; a place where you can constantly improve by clashing with others, where satisfaction is found by surpassing yourself over and over again, refining your cooking like a swordsman refines his blade. But once you reach a certain point, people would rather convince themselves to give up trying, surrendering before they even put up a fight because it's easier on their pride to believe they never had a chance to begin with.

However, this attitude means that the person you're calling a 'genius' can no longer challenge himself. He has no other diamonds to refine himself against. This is why he looks so happy cooking with Gin and Nakamura, who continue to try and surpass him despite losing over and over. With them, he can still polish himself. Even his habit of cooking disgusting dishes plays into this, a way for him to shout out, "Hey, look how stupid this is! Underestimate me and challenge me seriously!"

This seemingly 'darker' turn is just what we've been seeing since the beginning; the dismissal of those who don't have the nerve to stand up to adversity. The camp, the Stagiare, the weeding out of the weak, all of it is embodied by Jouichiro.

wtf
Did he kill them or?

Yes he teleported behind and sliced all their throats with his kitchen knife in the most edgy way possible.

Nothin personnel kids.

oh shit Soma's dad basically said that's what makes Soma who he is in chapter 100, unlike other students he doesn't give up and write things off

It saddens me how downhill this series had gotten because it was really comfy early on. now shit I don't care about is going on and I can't even finish season 2 anymore because of how hard I would have to force to watch it. It's that boring.

I still rewatch season 1 though.

FRESH

to be honest, I dropped the anime since the pacing was horseshit and the art isn't as good as the manga's. I marathoned the manga back at the start of S1. Just read the manga

>soon souma will look like this
>erina will see that

...

Hopefully the author has noticed that what was going on is shit and it may end this arc. Maybe.

...

He doesn't owe them nothin'.

...

the slutnakiri, inferior nakiri.

Have they explained how Totsuki does things for non-Elite 10?

These are high school students. Coming from the viewpoint of these goons, no matter how financially backed I am by my family, it would be absurd for me to keep throwing money over and over. There's clubs, but from what I've seen, you can't just go willy-nilly on the budget, like join the Omelette Club and work on making a good pizza.

We've seen this somewhat with Souma, where he runs out of money and buys cheap shit for his Chalyapin Don, and then the amount of money spent on improving his saury, or the amount of beef stew he made. Megumi's family owns a hotel, Curry is in by nepotism or some shit, Kurokiba by association to Nakiri, and Meat because she's fucking rich.

Yeah, in a perfect world, I would challenge Jouichiro over and over, but if I'm running out of resources, of course I'll give up for a while until I have enough to try again.

good job, user. I like your analysis. I'll put this down on notepad for a future ctrl+v

Who saw this coming all the way from the autumn election because they realized you can only make cooking a certain amount of fun when there's no actual action and characters that needed development weren't getting it
